As we of the X Legion still do not get a special character (the only 1st founding without one), I am thinking of how to implement an Iron Father character. I don't want anything too crazy, but something that fits fluff and useful in game. So basicly combine a Chaplian and a techmarine. My local player base is pretty cool and would prob let me play it in friendly games (the only kind I play. I don't do tourys) So here is what I have come up with.

Iron Father = 130pts

BS: 5
WS: 5
S: 4
T: 4
W: 2
I: 4
A: 2
Ld: 10
Sv: 2+

Wargear
Artificer Armor (as techmarines have)
Bolt Pistol
Power Ax
Frag/Krak grenades
Servo Arm
Mechanicus Protectiva (4+ invul, got from Index Astartes)

Special Rules
Chapter Tactics (Iron Hands)
Independet Character
Zealot
Blessing of the Omnissiah

So this is really just a Chaplian with a servo arm, but that's basicly what a Iron Father is. My other idea is to change Zealot for all IH within (6', 12',or same squad) get a boost to FNP, either better to rerolls. I'm thinking 130pts is a fair price for what you are getting as they are limited to IH. Would like to know what people think.

Staline looks fine. I would give him a bolter instead of the power axe.

As for special rules.

Possibly replace Zealot with "All models with the Chapter Tactics (Iron Hand) special rule in a unit within 6" of the Iron Father has the Feel No Pain (5+) special rule."

The Iron Father is considered to be a Techmarine for all rule purposes.

This does two things, allow him to have Servitors to help, and gives him a +1 on Blessing rolls.

Options:
May upgrade servo-arm to servo-harness
May replace boltgun and/or bolt pistol with a power axe or power maul

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Looks reasonable.

Hell, if you swapped 'Zealot' with the suggestion above (6" FnP boost) he'd still be fine at 130pts.

Not exactly a beatstick, small force multiplier, fluffy, and does what you'd expect him to do.

I like the idea of making an Iron Father SC more of a captin level character
3 wounds
3 attacks
zealot and techmarine rules.

I dont see an iron father increasing nearby troops FNP saves. His presence makes his bretherens bionics better?

Of course his presense makes their bionics better, dont you know how imperial machines work?? he waves around a brazier burning sacred scented motor oil and blares dial-up through his helmet, thus their bionics works better.

And combining OP's idea with happy's changes would make for a great HQ. And maybe to make him synergize well with taking a MOTF, allowing an upgrade to also make the IWND of vehicles in his detachment to a 4+ within 6"?

And this would be any different than how Blood Angel marines magically shrug off more bullets and become increasingly more agitated in the presence of an ornate chalice.

Exalted, my RIBS XD

Otherwise, I'd say swap the to 5+ FNP bubble, and give him 1 more wound/attack
