Everyone wanting more Martian stuff is going to be very happy, the next 4 stretch goals are all Martians.

Looks like Martian Saucer, Judge Dredd Martian, Martian with freeze ray and some other mystery Martian for the last one on there.

New backer based stretch goals -

When we get 1750 Backers, we will produce a set of Burning Cattle miniatures (a 3D upgrade to the cardboard counter in the box that you can add to your pledge to use during your games! When the Barbecue on the Hoof card gets played, these models will stampede across the board, injuring – perhaps killing – anything in their path!

Every 500 backers after that, we’ll produce something new, wacky and cool – completely Mars Attacks – that you can use in your games.

Edited in, it's all in the update. Very happy to be getting the saucers and freeze rays, hopefully the giant robots and bugs aren't too far off.

The backer-based stretch goal idea is really good, who doesn't want burning cow miniatures?

There's going to be random cool stuff like this every 500 backers from now on.

Can't wait for the saucers to be unlocked, going to put down a bunch of extra cash to cover a few of them.

I'm excited about the burning cattle -- I've wanted those since I heard about this KS. I can hardly believe they're actually going to do it.

I was gonna ask where martian babies come from

I like to think they come from hideous throbbing eggs. As soon as one hatches it eats the rest of the clutch alive.

We're getting some pics of what look to be the production minis now (as opposed to 3d prints.. there are mould lines on them):

Spoiler:

Are you sure that next to last stretch isn't a soldier with a rocket/RPG launcher? I'm not seeing as much of a big dome on him. And then the last martian stretch could have the freeze ray and just happen to have a knife out too...

Really keen to learn more of the saucers.

Pretty certain that's a martian, considering the shape of the dome and the backpack and the "zap ray" gun style.

There's been quite a lot of human stretch goals already, so it makes sense that the martians are getting fleshed out a bit.

Yeah, you're right SS. I had to zoom my phone in a bit more but now I agree. Sweet, I have enough corporation marines to not need more soldiers anyway!

Can somebody fill me in on the Judge Dredd crossover? I understand that there is a comic but why does the martian have Judge Dredd stuff on? Apparently I am WAAAAY behind on this IP.

@Manchu, where is that figure from?

Also, burning cattle is an awesome idea.

Pictures of the saucer are up:

comes with heat rays and pilots. X-wing vs Mars Attacks anyone??!

Anyway, you can pledge just for the saucers if you're not bothered about the rest of the stuff.

The new saucer should get this moving again but i echo those who feel Mantic want to concentrate on the game for now and perhaps leave the comic book tie ins to perhaps backer goals they just announced.

It would be nice if they would round out the Martians and initial US units, before jumping in with a new faction(s) - you know Mantic's MO and Bugs, Venusians and possibly the good old Police are probably already factored in.

As for the cards/comics/game pieces, I did think the new set not yet out was Mars Attacks Invasion and included a lot of new art not yet seen and it was the chase green bordered cards from the Heritage release last year that featured the IDW comic book tie ins

As a licenced property they may very well have a road map agreed with the licence owner before the KS so they have to stick to it

That figure's neck looks like it's made of sprue flash. The painted ones don't look that way.

Thanks, the lurid primary colours I use for layout seem to fit really for this Kickstarter too.

Anyone else noticed that this whole thing (the sculpts, presentation, painting, photos) seems to be a lot more high quality than anything Mantic has done so far?

They really seem to have it together with this kickstarter, it all looks properly professional and I don't think there's a single bad sculpt.

They have a new 3d sculptor hired to do the 28mm minis, and whoever they are they are extremely good. I hope they do some work on Warpath and KoW hard plastics in future too.

Which will I want more of though- Saucers or giant robots?

I don't think that 125 credit or whatever I've got will last much longer. Squadrons of flying saucers would be quite cool to have.

They will also menace just about every other game system I've got.

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Have 3 saucers credited so far but tempted to double that.

(SS, you have 3 saucers listed as $60 on front page but they are reduced to $50)

On facebook they indicated that they having space for two further types of terrain. Intact buildings would be nice but not sure what would best suit the third option.

Intact buildings would be awesome!

I'm it for the terrain, but those saucers are tempting.

I'm sure all resolve will crumble once the giant robots and bugs show up...
