The paintings for this new set are way more in line with the original. I'm glad they're starting to steer away from the campy stuff that came with the movie.

Have any of these anti- Martian aliens shown up yet in the comic? I love having strange- looking figure to play with.

Maybe we'll see more along the lines of our friend the Chovar!

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

!

Nope, they have not appeared yet but have seen quite a lot of the Novas Vira so I wouldn't be surprised if we see them shortly (and they should be quite interesting).

There was an alien mercenary shown in one of the newer cards having a shootout with some of the martians. He looked pretty cool. Almost looked like the Deadzone survivor. Hmm....

And someone, please post some pics fo the Novas Vira stuff from the comic.

Those look amazing, and i was considering to buy one for the terrain (who needs food anyway?). But why Kickstarter Miniatures are starting to charge big prices for shipping to my country? Not all brasilians are bad people who will claim their money back when shipments dont arrive in the next week...

I rather got the impression that it was the local postal service that couldn't be relied upon not to "lose" your $150 parcel and put the contents up on eBay! Though more so with Africa than SA. That said, if I (in the UK) was buying from anywhere other than the US, I'd go for courier shipping - I hopefully wouldn't end up waiting the best part of a month for my stuff, and would be able to tell if it was held up in customs or something. Then again, maybe the shipping just looks reasonable next to what I paid for Relic Knights ($75 on a $250 pledge) or am facing on Reaper (nearly $100 on a $100 pledge)!

Well, I got sucked in to yet another Kickstarter. This looks like something I can actually get people to play, so I guess it's worth it.

Now showing Catachan Jungle Fighters and World War zombies!

Painting total as of 30th November 2025: 136 plus a Deva King statue

Painting total as of 12/31/2024: 107 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain and two walkers and a quad mech and five giants

Its really sad how much I sincerely appreciate you doing that. I want to see these cattle.

Then I saw that they're a 10 dollar add on and I'm less excited. I just.... I just can't justify 10$ for cow models. Oh well, I'm sure other people will want them, and at least it got the next backer stretch unlocked.

@azazelx appreciated .

Its a $10 credit viable add on, and it uncovered hapless civilians unlocked at 2000 backers so it was totally worth it.

if i pledge at say 150 when do i actually have to pay?

I'm looking at the "credit" options and it says they're for "core add ons" only. Does that mean you can only use that add on $$ for stuff listed in the core section?

Core add ons are any addons made by Mantic. So all addons are currently core addons with the exception of the signed comics.

Paint sets, etc in the future are going to be non-core addons.

Hope that makes sense!

You pay at the end of the campaign, so on Sunday Nov 10, shortly after 6:59pm EST.

You pay at the END of the KS. So if you decide you want to pull out an hour before it ends, you get charged nothing.

Hapless victims- nice.

I have a feeling they will make their ways into many different games. Love the idea of having some dude filming all the carnage around him on his cellphone.

I don't doubt these guys will end up in homebrewed Deadzone scenarios in my home.

Plus the way the Topps representative on there keeps talking, we might actually see Dinosaurs Attack pop up later in this campaign (or possibly even as its own game). I'm happy with that thought.

I don't think those cards are from the set due this month.

I have not seen the card preview mentioned but the start of the IDW comic book 8, does feature an video game of the venusian Invasion, that has some real nice alien types and the suggestion of plant like bio-borgs, who knows

I have the burning cattle card, now I want to see the render of the figures.

I haven't pledged yet, but it's really tempting.

Am I the only one thinking about using all the pledge credit for duplicates of the U.S. Army Soldiers, then starting a kick-ass Imperial Guard Army?

The thought did cross my mind. A bunch of modern looking soldiers has all kinds of potential. Probably more so than Cold War era figures like the original cards.

In other news my 50th anniversary book has languished on the opposite end of the United States for the past week and I am getting quite tired of not seeing its shipping status get updated. Send my book already dammit!

I think it might be part of their artist collaborative series, but they've shown it off numerous times on their facebook page and it is supposed to be an alien mercenary fighting the Martians.

Jake Thornton has posted regarding some of the differences with Deadzone over on his blog this evening -

http://quirkworthy.com/2013/10/10/mars-attacks-deadzone/

Nothing that I don't think we already knew but still a good read.

Over in the Kickstarter comments Mantic dropped hints about squads of Stealth Martians and Martian Marines (the Martian squad in the base game are Martian Grunts).

New update should be posted shortly detailing a new pledge level that will go live tomorrow (and may well have early bird spots).

I definitely considered the modern soldiers as not-guardsmen. Would need to find them some modern, properly scaled, tanks though. They would look silly with GW tanks since a lot of those seem to be world war tanks etc. Which scale is it that sort of fits 28mm again? 1/45-1/48 or something?

I mayprobably won't do it myself as I just finished 50something of Mantic's corporation marines for part-time duty as not-guardsmen. I was eying the martians as potential necron replacements, but the saucers are more the size of a landspeeder instead of a flying croissant of death. Maybe they'd make heavy destroyer stand ins or something...

The prices are good though, and 10 poses make the single piece nature of the models a lot a lot more tolerable. I look forward to seeing what armies people build out of those kits even if I can't think of one for myself to do

Hey, look at that-

http://www.blowoutcards.com/forums/non-sports/523569-2013-topps-mars-attacks-invasion-trading-cards-19.html

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

Interesting:
The space mercenary is a new character I created and designed for the story, featured in the base set
My emphasis.

The space merc was not invented for the sketch card Barzam posted! I think that makes him fair game for the miniatures game.
