Nod. I'm basically in only for the potential of a shirtload of plastic scenery as I have little specific interest in the game itself (it'll go into the boardgame pile to be played whenever I get around to it). Having said that, I'll need more than the basic brick building sprues to keep me in for $300, and my suggestion to add some of the DZ ones as an option got me a reply of "buy the cool Agostini Workshop scenery" which as we mentioned, can't be bought with the credit in my $300 pledge...

Has it shipped? I went in for just the Alessio figure on Hippo, but haven't heard anything about it and certainly haven't seen it. They must still be shipping?

As for MA, it looks like they have a little under 14 more days to add some more plastic scenery to the campaign, or it'll be time for me to drop my $300 pledge as well...

I'm also holding a $300 pledge with the expectation of more plastic scenery being made available.

Looking through, those human soldiers are amazing sculpts. And seeing how they'd make for decent soldier minis for conscripts in a Corporation army (being used as IG, anyway), they may become an add on too...dammit!! In for Blaine, may end up with troops too. Bugger!

And that new knight Edwyn will be perfect in my Basilean army...double bugger!!!

Co-op rules will be good. Also would like the solo rules they mentioned. Looking forward to that aspect in Deadzone.

Martian dreadball team I'm torn on.

Me personally? Not interested in Dreadball. Deadzone compatibility sure, but I think I'd rather see the time and resources used in tooling more stuff for this game specifically.

HOWEVER- if a Martian DB team brings in a lot more pledges and money, than I guess I wouldn't mind as it would continue to bring folks into the campaign.

Seems to be steady progress again after the stutter to get to the Stompies. Probably due to the other KS on the go vieing for the same gaming pound/dollar.

Hope to see a real upbeat update this afternoon - given Mantic were at Essen and the state of the rail travel this morning here in the UK after a bit of wind is anyone in? - that will push on on to be in a good position for the final week.

A freebie or two would be nice, but bugs if they look like the concept art/cards could be a kicker.

A solid hint on a DZ crossover - free upgrade to backers of both? -would be nice, but the jury is out on a Martian DB team. How would they play do you need something beyond the grunts - now the comics/cards do have some "mutamt" humans? Possibly these might also form a route to DZ crossovers?

Most of the stutter was down to many people who had been sitting on both BotB and TIA early birds making their choices and dropping one or the other. That seems to mostly be over now.

I'm rather turned off to this being infused into the Warpath universe. Makes me weary of the future to any other IPs they acquire and am thinking pondering bowing out from Mantic as a whole.

I want martian faction deck for deadzone. I'll make stats for them myself if Mantic doesn't... I just trust Jake to balance them better than me.

DB team? Ehh I think it would be fun. I don't have any DB (yet) but I would consider picking up a martian team if I did.

I not overly fussed about martians popping up either, whether its officially edited into the background or not. The Zzo'r dreadball team... the Zzo'r are described kind of like tyranids in the warpath 2.0 rulebook, yet they have a team that plays dreadball. That seems to break continuity or whatever right there, as bad or worse than the martians would. Forgive me if they expanded the Zzo'r fluff in the DB paperwork and I'm ignorant of it

This is certainly sliding backwards today now into negative money I cut my pledge in half from $300 to $150 and I'm not even sure I'll stay there the lack of actual Deadzone production pictures even though the production is finished and swap from restic to metal on my Dreadball pledge has me questioning whether I want continue backing this KS - Mantic have 13 days to show me DZ production minis or I'm out.

As someone who is 95% uninterested in MA, I can't see why it's a bother if they get rules to cross over into DeadBall or DeadZone. If Jake spends an afternoon or two writing up rules for it to happen, it's not like it's a zero-sum game of resources for something like that. They're easily ignored, after all...

The biggest difference I see there is that it's still Warpath IP. The thought of half of those teams playing dreadball could be argued as ridiculous. Anything outside of Corporation affiliated species is a stretch. But it's still contained within Warpath and you have the fallback explanations of "genetically engineered" and "slaves" and even "ambassidors" as to why those alien players are in Corporation space.

As has been suggested in a few places now, I like the idea of it being done as "unofficial" for those games. Seems to make everyone happy as they shouldn't be showing up at tournaments and we could use whatever minis we wanted to represent them.

What i said in kickstarter comments:

I think the martians would work well if introduced as wanderers from another galaxy/dimension, blah blah, randomly wound up playing dreadball (caught off guard, captured, and forced by corporation to play as indentured servant style thing maybe?)... but just a team or two. They don't have to come from somewhere known in the WP universe, they just showed up and wound up as a DB team. So they fit into the story, but they don't really alter it.

Same with deadzone. They Dead zone is declared because the martians invaded and the corporation has no knowledge of them. But they don't have to have a specific concrete existence beyond their presence at that particular deadzone.

Might keep more people happy that way. Maybe. :p

Basically they would be included like some of the MVPs like Big Mech or whatever. There aren't necessarily Martians in the Warpath Universe (did we ever go ahead with calling that the ronniverse?), but there is a dreadball team of them. Like one, or two. And they can just show up and waste a planet which gets declared a deadzone based on unkown alien aggression. Doesn't mean everyone has to acknowledge martians in their own interpretation of the WPU (hell, the corporations would probably keep it under wraps anyway ).

Why do you have an objection to them making stuff that you don't want-you aren't forced to buy it as an extra, and even if it gets added to your pledge, you can sell it. Nobody is forcing you to use. Other people will be interested in cross compatibility. Why bow out just because they make add on rules that you aren't even required to use? I have no interest in MA, but if they made a MA Dreadball team and I somehow saw it sitting across the table from me in a Dreadball game, I'd say "Okay, cool. They made rules for that? Nice." And that would be that. Doesn't mean I'd personally buy them, but I won't deny others their fun.

So you are saying that you are okay with anyone using any old Star Trek, Star Wars, Marvel, AvP, this that or the other Sci-Fi or Fantasy models in a game with their own set of rules just because they want to?

Make them unofficial and the group has a much easier time "veto"ing the team if they want to play pure Warpath. Official and you just look like a jerk (as you would be a jerk denying an official team). I don't think the group asking for this to be an unofficial thing are asking for the world here. Just a key word that let's any player not interested able to veto the team.

If people are interested in a Martian Dreadball team, or Deadzone rules, I don't think it should be a Mars Attack stretch goal.

Those things should be add ons, and let that extra money help fund more stuff for Mars Attacks.

Unofficialdom would tank their sales to people who would be interested in them.
And yes, if Mantic released licensed official Klingon Dreadball team (or warpath-army) I would be more than happy to buy & use them.
Let's reserve the "unofficial" tag to non-mantic made products.

If they got licensing rights from Marvel, ST, SW or anything else and said company gave them permission to include those rules into Warpath or Dreadball, I'd be fine with it. As long as they have permission, what's the issue? The only issue I see here is one person wanting rules to be unofficial because official rules ruin his fun, but unofficial rules would drive up far less interest for everyone else. They can't please everyone, but official rules please more than unofficial. For the record, my Enforcers are painted in an Iron Man theme, my Corporation models are S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. And the Marvel Legendary card game is including AvP as a stand-alone/expansion so that the rules will work together. Other companies do it. Why isn't Mantic allowed to? And your idea of "unofficial means vetoing doesn't make me a jerk", but it also means the rules are easily denied in a tournament because they are "unofficial".

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.
