That sounds pretty balanced too. And give him the option to have a command squad too.

I was thinking about that nullifying wounds thing, that's powerful. So does anyone think it's two powerful? And should he provide an enhanced feel no pain? Does anyone think of any other SM that are in fluff but not a playable piece? Finally what do you think maybe a medic squad for chief be more fluffy or command squad works fine?

I don't really think he needs anything too special like a special poison gun.
I think 80pts
Ws/5 BS/4 S/4 T/4 W/2 I/4 A/2 LD/10 Sv/3+
with special rule 4+ FNP.
Can buy terminator armor or have access to all but heavy list like other hqs
Unlock a squad of up to 5 regular IC Medics (like cryptecs) each for 30pts per would be good.
Simple sweet and to the point

Poison gun made sense to me and it's fluffy. Otherwise cool. SM doesn't seem to have a whole lot in the poison range.

Gun wouldnt be poisoned, melee attacks would be. I wanted to throw that in there to represent him getting a jab with the needle and slowing his enemy down/inhibiting him. Also, it nullifies only before armor saves and only if you would get a save (no AP2-3) nor against ID attacks as per 4th edition

I would say loading him out like a techmarine but giving a 4+fnp to the squad. Also I like the idea of being able to buy a medic squad that can be dispersed amongst the other squads on the table to provide a 5+ fnp

I like the idea but can't say I particularly like the execution. Personally I would expect the head Apothecary to be well protected. I'd like to offer an alternative suggestion.

If your Warlord and Chief Apothecary are in the same unit when your Warlord dies (even if part of a challenge), don't remove the model from the table, instead lay it face down on the table. You may roll a D6 at the end of the phase unless locked in combat. On a roll of a 6 the Apothecary has managed to save your warlord's Geneseed and your opponent will gain no bonus VP for Slay the Warlord. If your Apothecary is locked in Combat, wait untill the combat has finished before rolling. If the Apothecary's unit falls back or the Apothecary dies, or you fail the roll, remove the Warlord. The Apothecary was simply unable to recover the Geneseed.

That is the fluffiest version yet in my opinion. Any more versions? Or maybe other heroes like chief librarian that isn't tigirius? Or a head chaplain? Maybe a pilot or whatever,

Probably best for another thread but something on the lines of no scatter deep strikes within a marker or two, OR some orbital bombardments (to soften up some important targets as the rest of the army drops in using STEEHL REIN.)

Honestly you could get a Scout Captain by letting him swap his PA for Scout Armour and Camo Cloak for free, and gaining an option to take a Stalker Pattern Boltgun, while removing the option for jump pack. A Captain with Scout Armour and Bike makes Scout Bikers troops.

I don't see why a chief apothecary in particular should get artificer armour. IIRC the reason tech marines and MOTF get artificer armour is because they personally modify their own armour and equipment. I suggest give him basic power armour and give him the same access to upgrades as a librarian.

All id say is make this 4+ as opposed to 3+ as thats a little too potent I feel. 4+ is old FNP and is still very good. A 50% chance to ignore a wound.
