Reading through the Warboss and Big Mek wargear lists, they can take bikes, mega armour, basically make themselves fit with other similar units (and we all know how nasty Nob Bikers with Warboss is).

So why not take rokkit packs like Stormboys? They are a half decent unit, who get ruined because they are basically a suicide unit. Perhaps make them unable to detonate, as the Meks would obviously do their best work for themselves or the big boss, cost 15 or 20pts.

Actually, while I'm on about Ork JP units, seen as you can have Nob bikers, why not Nob JP squads?

While an ork warboss or big mek is quite strong, he is also quite heavy, especially with all of his snazzy wargear. A large enough Rokkit Pack to even begin lift him would probably be too cumbersome in meele combat. Now I know logic and fluff do not go hand in hand with actual gameplay, but Stormbosses seems a bit farfetched, imo. Would make one hellova cool model though!

On the Stormnobs, that could be quite interesting. Perhaps an upgrade for regular nobs at maybe 15 points per model, seeing as you lose the improved toughness and cover save that you get from warbikers.

I take your point, bosses and meks are heavy buggers, would probably need a double rokkit pack to go anywhere (now that WOULD look awesome...)

As cool as Stormnobs would be, I don't think they'd get taken unless there was a JPI HQ available

And Stormboyz should be allowed to take burnas to

I am the kinda ork that takes his own washing machine apart, puts new bearings in it, then puts it back together, and it still works.

Here ya go

Did this a while back. My first thread, actually.

Uses the proportional cost increases and decreases of things common across Boyz, Nobz, and Bosses to determine how much wargear 'should' cost for each 'tier'.

Deffkoptas are actually kinda expensive.

GENERATION 8: The first time you see this, copy and paste it into your sig and add 1 to the number after generation. Consider it a social experiment.

If yer an Ork, why dont ya WAAAGH!!

Actually I think it should just a really, really big rokkit strapped to his back.

If meks can produce Tellyporta's, they can strap a giant gunship rokkit to the Warboss back.

But it should have the ability to go even FASTER then rokkit boyz, but at the cost of potentially breaking the warboss.

I looked at that and if did it like this someone would win by just taking 1000 grots in a 2k game. I mean would could pump out the fire power to deal with that?

We gave the ork dex a facelift, and in it the warboss can take a rokkit pack for +35 points. The big mek can take a deff kopta for +40 points.

P.S. We dropped the cost of stormboyz to 10 points each and now a mob can have a single support weapon: a big shoota (5), rokkit laucha (10) or a burna (15).

I assume at that cost the Warbike was either weakened or priced up, because otherwise no one would take it.

No, the warbike is the same at 40 points. The rokkit pack may be pricey, but at least the option is available for those wanting it. We tend to plan battles ahead, so it might be just the ticket for the ork player.

On a side note, we have a telyportas that can transport units across the table, though with a some risk.

Fair enough thought I'd check. If it was me I'd bring the rokkit price down to about 20. Do you have a link or file of the new codex?

Just an excel file. You have to keep it in context of our other rules, as we don't use the 6th Ed. rules but a hybrid of our own.
