Unfortunately, on this site just about everyone has seen it.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

Yes. Also, it is infiltrating, not scouting.
And this is possibly the only thing kroot have ever accomplished in a game ever.

Did a quick forum search, but if that image was a repost then obviously it would have had a different url. :(

It was from 5th edition when you could reserve everything.

IIRC, in 5th there were no rules to handle what happened, so the judge made them up on the spot. Which of course is a pretty bad way to win a game, instead of beating your opponent.

I'm pretty sure that if you had no models on the table at the end of a turn in 5th, you lost. Makes that tactic a pretty hefty gamble.

The funny thing, too, is that this would work against pretty much only that list. As mentioned, tanks can tank shock, and skimmers can fly over, as can jump troops, while drop pods can show up anywhere, etc.
Anyways, welcome to tournaments.

Nope, no such rule. Full Reserve was a pretty common tactic in 5th.

There was a player at my FLGS that ran all-off eldar. I made the mistake of bringing an imperial guard officer of the fleet against him.
Turn 1: I did nothing, he had no units on the board.
Turn 2: I did nothing, his units only arrived on a 5+, so basically nothing showed up, and what did hid on the other end of the board.
Turn 3: I plinked at whatever showed up, but it was in the other table corner, so I didn't do much. Both autarchs turned their reserves bonus on, and now the eldar army came in on a 2+. His entire army showed up and flew forwards as fast as it could.
Turn 4: I had already lost 60% of the game, and hadn't done anything yet. I gun some stuff down, while he guns some stuff down in return.
Turn 5: I finally get into range with special weapons, etc. He flies over towards objectives.
Game ends.
As far as I was concerned, that was a 2-turn game of 40k. Rather silly, if you ask me. At least I won, though, because while I didn't have a chance to kill very much, neither did my opponent, despite having 50% more turns than I did...

You realize they posed for that picture, right?
Plus, the captions in the OP are just plain stupid. Neither player was a "powergamer", the bike player had a fluffy all-bike list, not some "cheesy" auto-win. And the rules about where you can deploy and move on have nothing to do with "cheese".

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices. |

Yeah; At the beginning of his first turn, Wheels will deploy his entire force in a compact "spearhead", then advance and pierce the enemy line at its weakest point. I don't remember being able to bring on reserves in Turn 1 unless it was Dawn of War? I'm enjoying all the comments calling him bad names as well, when a bike heavy white scars army wasn't in the top 10 "cheese lists" (at least according to the internet) during 5th.

An all-biker White Scars army in 5th edition is cheesy? Reserves denial and focusing on one part of the opponent's forces is a dirty tactic?
The picture is pretty amusing in its own right, why sully it with this bs?

It seems the site is very... "fuzzy" on how the situation actually played out and the rules involved - if you dig around you'll find better and more accurate accounts of this elsewhere. Exactly how the Tau player won, I don't remember - either it was a case of (as Deathreaper said) a TO's judgement, or if there were any objectives involved, it's safe to assume the Tau reserves would be able to arrive and claim them uncontested in plenty of time before game's end.

It wasn't a Tau player.
It was a guy running a Kroot Mercenary list from the 2004 Chapter Approved while the White Scars player was running one from Index Astartes.
That alone should give you an idea of the timeframe involved.
