Anyone tried this out? Worth it? I already have one, and just got given another one. Not sure how viable the lists will be but I reckon it's gonna be fun finding out

I use 3 Wraithknights and a Riptide in my army, it's awesome! Plus the look on peoples faces when they pass by the table is priceless. I've had people call it excessive and ridiculous. Everyone wants to play me though, just to see how their army will fare against it. So far out of like 15 games I've only lost 3 with it.

Sweeeeeeet. I figure if one of them (although I haven't actually managed to get a game in with him yet) is a massive distraction and fire magnet, two will just be the sauce.
3 + a Riptide sounds like giggles all day

It can certainly be super effective, although like most skew armies it will come across bad matchups that will shut you down hard.
A vanilla player with some Grav bikes will nuke one of them right off the get go. And any list with a good number of lascannons and missiles will plink you down fairly quickly.

I'm in college and work part time, the Wraighknights are expensive but if you sell stuff your not using there not that bad. I used money from my Warhammer 40k fund which is basically money I put aside every month to afford 40k and sold a bunch of Magic The Gathering Cards I didn't need. My 3 Wraightknight army with everything included actually wasn't anymore expensive than any other army I have or plan on playing. My Iron Hands Space Marine army is turning out to actually be more expensive at this point.

The counters are few though, and you have to remember that the Wraightknights don't make up my entire army. All told the 3 Wraithknights equal less than 1000pts of my army. They're distraction/tank hunter units and they do a great job at it. The Riptide is what really impresses me in this army. My Bursttide coupled with Buffmander always manages to kill at least one unit a turn and even if I don't get my Nova Charge I have 2 Wave Serpents in the army that a lot of people don't expect so much firepower from. I have yet to play against a Space Marine bike army so I can't accurately say whether or not it's as effective as you say, but where I play the meta favors Eldar and Tau and both armies have a heck of a time doing much to 3 Wraithknights. The only armies I've lost to are flying circus Demons, and believe it or not, Tyranids. With flying circus the psychic powers really hurt me especially psychic scream. Against Tyranids I get overwhelmed with Gaunts fairly quickly if I don't focus fire down the Tervigons in time and that typically has to do with either LoS or bad rolling.

I just got my second wraith knight... and I'm itching to use them both. I have had tremendous luck with the one and now that grav guns are out and people are engineering a solution to them, I decided it was time for two. My third one will be ordered in the next few weeks.
As a matter of fact I plan on running two in my team tournament list. I only have a thousand points, but two of them is only half!

Don't bother getting your models out if you play Dark Eldar. Just accept your loss and ask if he has another army.

This is an actual rule in the actual rulebook. Quit whining about how you can imagine someone's army touching you in a bad place and play by the actual rules.

Or keep the knights in reserve to get a jump on the DE transports with the serpents first then milk your range against the infantry. Once the transports are popped, Dark Eldar get a lot less scary.

I find it novel you believe your Wave Serpents will get to kill anything before they are destroyed.

Dual Wraithknights seem to be popular in many Serpent SPAM armies, so they can definitely work I imagine.

Wouldn't it be the same as Riptide spam? Not optimum Dallas per point but hella resilient compared to what normally would be a better option.
That's why people turn to Riptide spams so fast. They require luck or tailored lists since they're so tough, just not as strong as normal lists.

I play a dual Wraithknight list, and managed to beat two Dark Eldar players at NOVA this year. Trust me, it is a far worse matchup for them. If you don't get turn 1, reserve or ds the Knights. Problem solved.

Finished building the second one, now ready for painting. Really looking forward to trying this out. I *am* concerned about things like poison and snipers but, hey, the game is a great big round of paper, scissors, rock, lizard, spock, so no matter that there are things that can wipe out my pretty robots; they can dish out plenty of hurt themselves.
If you're running multiples, do you load them out differently? I mean, with the 1000 point list above, I'd be tempted to run one with a Suncannon and one with Wraithcannons to spread out the love a little...

Keep them "cheap" with 2x Wraithcannons. The upgrades are either mediocre, expensive, or both.
