This is actually kind of funny that this appeared because my friend was seeing whether or not any Eldar HQs could take him on and they couldn't (not alone anyway).
And I have to add one: Calgar would beat the gak out of Abbadon but would nearly die in the process.

clagar loses to abby just due to the fact abby has more attacks at a higher int, as well as 1 more WS. sanguinor can hold his own vs him though.

Has anyone run the numbers/done playtesting for an IH CM on a bike with Burning Blade and Shield Eternal?
I feel like 2+/3++ T5 S7 at initiative with 4W and 4A, IWND and 6+ FNP should get him at least close.

If the duel lasts a theoretically infinite number of turns, Celestine will eventually get lucky, or at least, luckier than Abaddon. But that's not likely to happen anywhere on the tabletop. Plus her sword won't pierce Abaddon's armor, nor will her sword's ranged attack.

just checked, the C: SM CM with shield eternal, burning blade, and on a bike can fairly often hold his own in a duel vs abby, and surprisingly can take his lunch money quite often  this is, an assumption that the BB incandescent can be invuln saved against.

It's actually better if you arm the Iron Hand Chapter Master with a Thunderhammer because you're going to strike last anyway (I5 vs Abby's I6) and the Hammer has concussive so in subsequent turns you bring him down to your level.
And yes, statistically the IH CH of Doom will take Abaddon's Lunch money. Thank you based FNP 6+ and IWND

even without FNP +6 he still takes da moneyz but I see what you mean about the TH, there is not save against the hammers I1 reduction? can't quite remember.

Abaddon has Eternal Warrior, so he'll do some wounds to the Swarmlord before being taken down.

Depending on what else has happened in the battle before the duel. I like the chances of a DE Archon with Shadowfield, combat drugs, soul trap, and huskblade.
This guy can be pretty nasty around turns 4+.

The Burning Blade might still be good to keep over a TH. While the TH brings him down to your speed, if you manage to blind Abbadon he's suddenly hitting on 5+s and getting hit on 3+s. You're still wounding on 2+s regardless of which weapon.
Though since it's an initiative test it'll likely take a while for him to fail it, and even when he does it only lasts for a turn, so you may be right that a thunderhammer might be best.
I think in a regular game I'd prefer the burning blade though, to chew through infantry like a hot knife through butter before they can blink, while still being able to take Abbadon's lunch money if need be.

Yeah, you can take SE with TH and AA on a bike (taking that to next tourney in fact).
