Ok well those not-tags are fairly awesome. I like the first two (same guy different poses?) a little more than the heavy dude, especially if fielded alone. The big dude would look good with the thinner one to contrast him, but by himself he looks a bit sow and chunky, without being "ridiculously tough", kind of like the medium-heavy armored core robots, you may has well just chunk it out all the way and be impossible to kill if you're going to be nearly as slow anyway.

I decided to go ahead and get the Maghariba. The not-TAG can wait. It isn't going anywhere.
I picked up a trio of zombies today from Brookhurst Hobbies. I wanted to add some variation to my undead horde. When I get my Deadzone zombies, I'm going to have a ton of military garbed zombies, so I wanted to have to civvie ones as well. Thankfully, Reaper makes some. I wanted to get these guys done nice and quick, so I didn't take any particular care on them. These were a quick and dirty paintjob. I'll be adding blood after they've been dipped.
Reaper makes some really neat undead though. I found a two-pack that had a muscular zombie dragging a dismembered pair of legs with a second zombie that had its leg chewed up and was crawling. There's another set that's got multiple zombies fused into some kind of fleshy monstrosity. Of course, there's also the regular ones, some that look like hicks, some hospital ones, and generic ones that look like they'd fit either in fantasy or modern settings. There's also one that kind of looks like Tarman from Return of the Living Dead. Actually, I snagged one of the hick looking ones from FRP over the weekend, too. He ought to be fun to paint.
Also, I did order a Maghariba Guard. Look s like I'll have another TAG to work on after I do the Iguana.

They do look kind of like they're dancing, don't they? Those ugly Bones zombies from the very first wave definitely look like they're dancing.
I finally found a use for my prepaid card. I used it to get the Armored Cavalry (while I've got the change) as well as a Wreck Age figure and a Deep Wars figure for the hell of it. Should be fun to paint up. I'm thinking a police scheme for the Squalo. I've got to figure out someplace to put lightbars on the thing.
Just order yourself one of the new 1/48 Bandai ones, Pacific.
http://www.hlj.com/product/BAN993227/Sci I think that would certainly scratch that particular itch.
Now me, nah, I'm not planning on doing a black and white scheme for my police Squalo. Rather, I want to do a blue and white one. I'll probably use Dream Pod 9's Heavy Gear Military Police decals for it (thus making it a German police TAG). I'd like to give it lightbars on the shoulders, but the Squalo doesn't have any shoulderpads to mount them on. I'm kind of thinking of making some rudimentary mounts on its collar area and have them pointing back like the sensor masts on its back.
Bandai's scaling seems to run a little on the small side sometimes. Their 1/35 Code Geass models seem to be more around 1/48 scale. But, it should scale correctly. At the very least, it'll be close enough.
Just another update without pics (for now). I just got in the second of my three orders. My Miniature Market order came in. I got my Squalo, a Deep Wars Atalan Soldier, and a Wreck Age Drifter Locust. In addition to those, my FRP order included a PanO hacker, a Retro Raygun robot officer (for my dad), a Reaper zombie civvie, some West Wind Soviet Survivors, and a sheet of decals for my TAGs. Supposedly, on Monday my Maghariba Guard will arrive. Lots to work on in the coming days.
I'm going to try and start work on that robot officer for my dad tomorrow.
I'm thinking that since I can't post any pics of my stuff right now, I'll post some pics of my brother's stuff later.
I made a MM order too for the three fluo paints they had in stock, and something else... let's just say I think I got sepsitorized and leave it at that.

So, as I mentioned, I'm going to post some pics of Highlord Tamburlaine's stuff. He's got a ton of figures, but doesn't ever want to upload them here. These pics came from the battles I had with him and my nephew a couple weeks back.
The first battle we had was my Plague Dogs against his son's Lizardmen. Aside from the Wyvern, these were all painted by Tamburlaine.
The big guy was my nephew's commander, the guy with the spear and the quiver on his back was his only ranged unit. The Wyvern obviously had flying and long move, dude with the spiked club could hit hard, and the other spear guy was just a basic grunt.
Prior to starting, we rolled to see what the objective would be. Turned out it was a treasure hunt. There were three idols placed around the table and one of them was supposed to be magic. My guys had to investigate all three and find the magic one, then get it off the table in order to win. Things started out somewhat badly for me. That Wyvern could move quickly and hit pretty hard. The Plague Wolf wound up being first, and thankfully only casualty in this particular game though. Following the wolf's death, my Plague Dogs managed to knock the Wyvern out of the air and promptly gun it down while it was lying on the ground. After that, my guys pretty much slaughtered the filthy Xenos scum. One of the Plague Dogs actually managed to find out which artifact was the one they needed and made off with it, leaving only one lizard left alive.
The second game though, that was played directly against my brother. My Plague Dogs were to again try to plunder artifacts from some long abandoned village. Unfortunately, it wasn't lizards they were up against. That lone survivor must have brought back tales of horror and disease ridden monsters gunning down his brethern, because the Snakemen came out to meet my forces. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures of all of them, but I did take pics of the ones who were most important to the fight.
Tamburlaine's warband was made of primarily of Mierce and Reaper models. They were being led by a big Mierce snake guy.
Thankfully, he didn't manage to kill anyone, but he did turn out to generally be a nuisance. While my Plague Dogs managed to poison him, they didn't get to kill him. That guy could move quick and close in with my troops. Unfortunately, Song of Blades and Heroes does not allow you to shoot into melee. Otherwise, I think I might've come out the victor in this battle.
The big snake, referred to during the game as Big Boss had managed to discover which idol was the one my guys needed. I tried to send a pair of troops to flank the snakes and retrieve the idol, but they were stopped by the Snakeman Brute.
He only managed a single kill, and that was during the endgame after my troops were routed, but he did manage to hold up my guys and keep them from flanking the snakes.
The biggest thorn in my side during the battle, if you can believe it, was THIS bastard:
This is Tamburlaine's Snakeman Assassin. This guy singlehandedly managed to wipe out half of my force. Completely on his own. This bastard was tough and was entirely the reason my troops wound up going into retreat.
At the end of the battle, only two of my six troops survived, having escaped. It turns out that those medieval looking snakes with their primitive armor and blades were actually more than a match for my corrupted Astartes. They were able to withstand their firepower and the poisons and were more than capable of dishing it right back.
Someday I'm going to get those damn snakes. Someday.

Sounds like a fun pair of games! This Song of Blades (and Heroes?) sounds pretty neat if it can adequately represent lizardmen, snakemen, and freaking chaos space marines! I may have to look into it.

It was fun, but so far I've lost every round against my brother. Those damn snakes.
Today I went back by my place for a bit to do a little painting. I worked on the robot I got for my dad. The figure itself is called Optio, he's an officer for the Robot Legions faction in Hydra Miniatures' Retro Raygun line. My dad has been collecting various scales of lead toy soldiers since he was a kid and for years had done wargaming against his brother and other family members using some extremely simplistic rules. He also happens to like that old '50s Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon style of sci fi with the ridiculous costumes and the cigar rockets. He's actually got a small collection of (I think) 54mm Buck Rogers toy soldiers. Now, my dad doesn't really like the wargaming figures because, as he puts it "they're too small." But, when I showed him the Retro Raygun stuff, he really liked it, especially the robots. So, I got one for him. With luck, maybe I'll manage to finally bring him over to 28mm scaled wargaming.
Hopefully, he'll like this.
It's totally unnoticeable in the photos, but I actually attempted to do highlights and blending with the silvers and the brass. It's a bit more noticeable in person though. The eye is also placeholder until after I've dipped him. He'll be receiving some OSL on that eye once he's closer to completion. It's aslo a little hard to tell, but his raygun is white. I wanted to have some lightning bolts on the sides of it, but my freehand sucks.
I saw some people playing that at GenCon, robots and almost goofy looking heroes, heroines scantily clad riding jet bikes, not my thing but I could see people liking it.

All I can say is wait until you see what I have in store for the next time we play.
I'm currently putting together "The Tom & Jerry Brotherhood." Which consists of nothing but rats and cats, oh yeah! Naturally with a few giant Mierce pieces thrown in for good measure.
Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!
I hadn't posted any pics yet, but my Blood Pact Shotgunners are all finished. Figured I should share them while I'm more or less unable to get any painting done.
These guys were pretty fun and simple to do. I've got a sixth guy awaiting paint though. He'll be a sniper.
I like them, they're suitably fierce and impersonal with the masks. They can scare the gak out of you and you probably won't feel bad about gunning them down, score!

I would red wash them, right now, in that light their uniforms appear magenta to me,
