Anyway, the Dreadnought is actually being primed. I'm going to spray the whole thing in silver while it's on the sprue to save me some time. Once that's done, then I'll build him.

Tacticool PJ for these and scouts everytime

I'm actually kind of having second thoughts on the tacticool Reivers. I'm kind of thinking maybe trying a camo pattern similar to one Kasrkin wear. Thoughts?

I'm back home for a little bit before I have to house sit, YET AGAIN. Anyway, I painted up this lovely fellow.



He's a Retiarius from Alkemy, from the Albion faction. Those guys are all fethed up, freaky mutants, so they work absolutely perfectly as Chaos Marauders/Warriors. you can't look at this guy and tell me he doesn't make a perfect servant of Chaos. His paintjob make him look even more freaky in person, too. I've got his tubby buddy sitting on my painting table, too. They're going to be fun to use in Age of Sigmar Skirmish.

So you're putting together a Chaos warband then? So be it.

You gotta get around to painting more of those guys up. They really are your type of figure.

I love the alkemy figs. I snagged a ton of them from MM over the last year or two. They are trying with yet another company to bring out the game again. Too bad they keep French as the main language as that really limits their reach.

All the Alkemy factions had (have, I guess) some great minis. Tons of character and good sculpts. The later Albion models where they pushed the evil-tree mutations a little more were really cool.

The Redemptor is now fully assembled, and silver. I've gone ahead and taken a size comparison of it so you get a better feel for how big it is.



This was interesting. The kit is almost a snap together. There's a lot of parts on this that really don't need any glue. Equally interesting, like the Knights, the arms are actually fully articulated after assembly. Movable shoulders, elbows, and wrist. That really wasn't a feature I was expecting. Also interesting, there's these rings on the hips that have the hydraulic pistons attached to them. Those rings are actually not glued on, so if you remove the little nub on the hips that the legs mount onto, you actually get a pretty wide range of options in how you want to pose the legs. Same with the knees, there's a tab that slots the lower legs onto the thighs. If you remove that tab, the knees can be posed as well. So, this kit is designed to allow for a lot of pose options if you just remove a couple tabs here and there. Oh, and the right arm can be freely swapped after aseembly as well. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for the left arm's integrated weapon nor the chest mounted weapons. but hey, options!

Sweet action. I'll have to get that dread eventually.

Here's a little WIP pic of the Redemptor. Slowly working on it. Getting the base colors down, then decals, then weathing.



I'll be having it match my other Dreads. I can't decide if I want to give it a black trim, or a yellow one.

That's a nice Olive Drab.

I thought you were doing all your Marine stuff in darker colors. Still sticking with the GI colors?

Do you still have your Terminators and converted marines that match those Dreads?

Ah, no, those Termies got sold at the last Bring ' N Buy at Brookhurst. The plan was always to do the Primaris in a nice Raptor-y drab green. It's just the Reivers I was thinking of doing in dark colors. I'm actually rethinking that plan though and may wind up doing v them with a splinter camo similar to the one the Kasrkin wear.

I got the Redemptor finished last night. Only one blah phone pic for now. I'll post the full turnaround later tonight. I'm very proud of myself though because I managed a decent freehand of the Raptors insignia on it.

Okay folks, here's the full turnaround. The yellow band on its arm is a little hard to see with the glare, but you can clearly see the Raptors insignia.



I feel like it still needs something on its right shoulder pad. Any suggestions?

Skulls, obviously.

Why would you even need to ask that? It's an Imperial machine after all.

Well you have the playboy bunny on there, so how about a thong . A good tie into the space marine walking washing machine.

Great work on the Redemptor here. Maybe a white Allied Star, or an Aquila for the right shoulder?

Very cool! My brain wants to see a white star on the sparse shoulder pad but I dunno if that's apropos.

I say leave the shoulder blank. I like the siimplicity of it as it is.

I do have Allied Stars on my other green Space Marines and Dreads. Hmm.

I completed three more figures today. First, my Nexus Brawler from Icarus Miniatures.



Cool figure, but that axe is super thin.

Next, someone I will be planning to sell at Brookhurst's next Bring 'n Buy, a Maxmini Plague Demon.



Last, we have the second Retarius from my Avalon set from Alkemy. I know it looks kind of like he has three man-boobs, but that's actually a severed cat-person head in the middle of his chest.

So only two man boobs then? Just checking .

That nexus figure looks good. Maybe the axe is supposed to be super thin to reduce friction.

Your Plague Demon is disgusting looking, which is to say, mission accomplished.

I'd say maybe bring out some more colors on the cat head so it doesn't blend in as much maybe?

I whipped up my second Reiver. This time I tried going with the Kasrkin style splinter camo. I like how it came out.



Yeah, I think I'm going to go with this on the rest of my Reivers.

That does look pretty cool. Not sure which version I like more. The camo is more interesting visually, but I liked the departure from the chapter color scheme the last one had.

Well, I'm pleased to see that people seem to like the camo Reiver. Thankfully, when I get the Intercessors, the method I'll be using for them is basically the same, just no camo. So, they'll actually be easier to paint. Now that I've finished the main project I wanted to get done this week, I'll be able to focus on painting my remaining Primaris Marines.

My project for the week was to paint up another figure to sell at Brookhurst this weekend. I'm hoping I'll have some takers. This guy is the old, metal Skorne Savage Cyclops, from Hordes.



Sadly, his banner pole is snapped in half and doesn't want to go back together, so he'll have to go without. I really like the Skorne Cyclopses. They're neat looking figures.

That's it! That's all of my Dark Mariners painted. It only took me two years. Of course, I still have a bunch of other Fortune Hunters to paint as well as some Axibalan amazons. Someday I'll get around to those.

Wicked work all around. Especially the Reavers, look that cano effect.
