So im just wondering if you would accept this as the parts that will be added during conversion will make the valkyrie have the same weapons as a stormraven...
Twin linked assault cannon from stormtalon (as it turns 360°)
2 extra hellstike missiles (so 4 in total as stormraven has 4 missiles)
heavy bolters stuck where the lascannon/multilaser goes (1 on each side of cockpit)
heavy bolters on pivots removed (put on both sides of cockpit)(above)
given armour plates from various SM vehicle kits (to make it look more like a space marine vehicle)
painted red (as i play blood angels)

So would you accept this as a stormraven alternative?

Rule of cool if it's cool people normally don't have a problem with it.

But I can't really just imagine what you're asking of right now...

I assume this would be alright if you had to play a strict WYSIWYG game. But why go through all the hassle to represent another model that costs the same? (probably cheaper after all said components have been bought). I personally think the StormRaven looks better in most cases than the Valkyrie anyways....

Just a quick note to say that I have all the components listed.
also the valkyrie looks better than the stormraven as it isnt huge and blocky.

That is true... it is just a personal preference of mine . If so I guess it would be acceptable, as long as it really is clear.

I wouldn't object to it but it sounds more like a looted Valkyrie than a Stormraven.

Yeah, I'd be a little hesitant on this one.... substituting a larger model with a smaller one, isn't very kosher... plus your doors and LOS is all wrong, and that can matter.

Is Stormraven really that much bigger? This sounds good enough to me, the OP has obviously put some thought into this.

Before the stormraven model came out, pretty much everyone who used one did it by converting a valkyrie. I used a Valkyrie as the basis for my own marine flyer counts-as:



Basically, I say go for it. As long as it is of similar size, the weapons are about right and in about the right places I would be very surprised if anyone said anythig other than praise for a cool conversion.

Back when there wasn't a model... people had some pretty awesome conversions for a Stormraven. Right now, these thin not-transport looking things are tough to see as now modeling for an advantage.

Personally I am easy going when it comes to this sort of thing. I think for most people as long as you make an effort to make it look like an alternative then you are OK. So adding all the weapons will be fine for this. As long as you're not just dumping a Valkyrie and saying "this is a Stormraven" then you should be OK. You just need something to show that you are littery not just using a proxy and even then I am pretty dandy with proxies anyway.
