I plan to field three centurions (once painted) and I wonder what sort of load ups you have found to be useful.

As they can fire at two separate targets, this is what I think:

Sergeant with omniscope, grav cannon and amp.
2 centurions with grav cannon and missile launcher.

This allows me shoot at three different targets, if required. Or have I misread the rules?

Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high

I'd say ML/Grav cannons with amps

I don't think i'd bother with the omniscope myself. If i shoot those guys at something, i really want it dead dead dead

Sternguard though, those guys are all about kicking ass. They'd chew bubble gum as well, but bubble gum is heretical. Only tau chew gum.

You have. Only two different targets, and only if you have an omniscope. And you need to pass a leadership test first.

Ah, of course. Wasn't really thinking it through before writing. So ML/grav it will be. I try to take omniscope if I have the points.

I've been fielding three cents:

Sgt with Hurricane Bolter, Grav Cannon+Amp, and the Omniscope
2x Cents with Lascannon+Missile Launcher

The Sgt is basically the bodyguard for the unit. Anything that gets within 24" is going to get shot, a lot. The other two guys are basically a Devastator Squad shooting at similar targets.

It's a very expensive unit, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be shelving them soon in favor of two Devastator Squads for the same points but twice the Firepower. The Grav Cannon just doesn't do anything for me that something else can't do cheaper/better. Still, as I've said in other posts, if I was a new Space Marine player that didn't already have Devastators and/or Terminators, then the Centurions would be a dubious option for me. I would think in the long run I would eventually get Devastators and Terminators. Play what you want though, and remember to have fun!

I think a whole squad with TL-Lascannons and ML is awesome with the Imperial Fists doctrine.

Sure they're expensive, but there's hardly anything out there that can survive such kind of firepower. That's like 1.5 Penetrating hits a turn against AV14, and probably several Glancing hits too.

I will shamelessly steal this, and use it when i eventually end up buying myself a few Centurions down the line

I'd say Grav cannons and ML because it lets you kill lots of differnat targets.

I would just do 3 Grav Cannons and 1 Omniscope, stock HBs.

I just faced 3 centurions with TL LC & MLs playing my son's necrons (3 flyers). They were devastating. I only had 1 flyer survive more than 1 turn and they took out a CCB and put wounds on my overlord to boot. Who needs AA when you have these guys?

I think the optimal config would be 4 centurions with the thing that lets you split fire. There's your AA & you can then shoot anything else you need to once the planes are down.
