I am very new to wargaming, currently my army is a small 10 man blood angels squad of tactical marines.

why blood angel, well thats simple. I went to warhamer world in Nottingham and was blown away by the museum, in particular a squad of sanguinery guard, decked out in shining gold, with brilliant white wings. And I thought, thats what I want to paint, thats sets the bar.

realizing that the people who paint for the displays are pro's and havig no illussions about my own skills, I started small with mysquad and intend to build up.

I've been to my local store and my first marine are thursting for action, nows they just have to wait a little while longer, for a few more to join them.

For the emperor and humanity, where ever the battle may lead.

Welcome aboard! Love the Blood Angels as well, they're my second army. Just know that the BAs are a codex behind the edition...so they're not considered a "top tier" army (if things like that concern you) - but in no way have diminished being a fun army to paint, play and collect. Will love to see your paintjobs when you can post 'em!

I also went with a different scheme for my Death Company (They are all Amish named ... messed up but a great laugh when I tell people that Levi and Eli killed 10 guys the first round of CC!) going with a copper colour instead of just black.

who knows what colour schemes or variations I'll end up with, thats part of the reason for starting small, finding my path. And as for being scared, never, awed, envious and itching to pick up my brush, hell yeah.

Being a little short on the curly hair department myself, I can appreciate the bald is beautiful look.

As for the nipple armour, enough said. But is it wrong to be envoius of a six pack. But then space marines were geneticaly engineared to be super human. So perhaps the hair, sixpack etc is just another curse that us mortals dont have to worry about. Lol.

If you have a spare set of Sanguinary Guard wings, a simple addition on Dante (Imho) can go a long way....

"Spam" means "use a lot of" a particular unit. In the Blood Angels codex if you take Commander Dante as a HQ choice, you're allowed to use Sanguinary Guard as Troops (normally they're Elites, so you can take a maximum of 3 in a normal game, but you've got 6 Troops slots).

Welcome to Dakka Dakka, I would recommend reading up on tactics, lists, and Battle Reports. I play in the Clackamas area in Oregon. Send me a line if you need some starter advice.

I have a BA army as well... About 3000 points. I fell in love with the sanguinary models and the idea of cheap jump pack assault marines with a medic. The whole army is meant to move fast and hit hard. It is a fun army to play and I can't wait to see what the new codex will have to offer.
