Deathwing Terminator with Assault Cannon

Alright on a related thread challenging players to paint all they have I decided to accept the challenge, after way too long of playing the game I had yet to paint more than a single model (I painted up a sergeant for a Deathwatch campaign)
Now many of you may be wondering how in the heck I managed to get this far painting only one model, well the answer is I bought most on Swap Shop (guy had about 5 different paint schemes) and lazyness has dictated my actions ever since, so NO MORE! I shall have all of these painted before I buy more models. I have roughly 200 models to paint, so without further ado the list.

Hope you have an airbrush and a lot of wash, you'll need it! Are you going to strip any or all of them to get a fresh start?

Sounds good, basecoated is fine if it's not too thick. Are they going to need a wash to clear off any dust-grease-cheetos congealed goo from the previous owner? Some of the 2nd hand stuff I've gotten... *weeps for humanity*

Thankfully no, in one of the pictures you can see the red blood angels command squad and its not goobered up at all, I forgot he did have 1 model fully painted, It was a bike sergeant in white scars colors.
EDIT: and damn was he a bloody good painter imho
Also on another point how do you remove shoulderpads, some I derped on and put the chapter specific pads in the wrong spot (right shoulder instead of left) and some have IF pads, and a few UM pads

Depends on the glue. if its plastic glue, you are kind of out of luck. Superglue can be cracked off, or dissolved. Last resort? cut off the arm above the elbow and glue it on the other side with pinning and greenstuff.
Good luck with the angels. I've been working on mine for ages and they never seem to get done.

I've had to remove the plastic-glued shoudlerpads for some models that were glued on the wrong way around. Thankfully the shoulders often don't contact the arm too much so a lot could just be snapped off with no visible damage. Others took a bit of levering but the damage was minimal, easy enough to GS and/or make look like battle damage.

If you paint them, who will guard those D&D books from heretics? My old Blood Angels stood guard over mine for some time- I boxed them, and now I worry they will be stolen by the forces of Chaos.
Just be wary, and good luck with the painting. It takes a while to get even the slightest hang of it (unless you have trained in art or are a natural).
If I may offer a humble piece of advice: the models in WD and on some of these pages should fall into the "aspirational" column and not be the standard you immediately set yourself.
And turn your models over when you paint them! Look at them from all angles.

I have part of the terrible Dachshund horde to protect the books

Yup haha, biggest thing I am going to try and nail is mainly proper coloring without too much overrun into other areas (getting tassles white without getting the white on the armor etc.) Granted after everything is said and done hopefully I will be so disgusted with my previous work that i end up stripping the first 25% I painted

All I could think of thats witty is GREY BUTT, GREY BUTT!!!

TBH, I would really look for some brush on primer. spraying indoors is about the most dangerous think you could do in this hobby, other than hobbyknifing tooo close to your eye or huffing paint thinner. Most cans can (no pun intended) cause brain damage with even minor exposure, and your lungs will fare no better. headaches in the front of your head (or anywhere really), and any sharp pains in the chest area means stop spraying for at least a week.
anyway, not to sound like your mother or anything, good luck with the project.

I could add during most of my painting sessions I have a cigarrette hanging out of my lips, but ya, theres a reason I ventilate like a fiend, that room I was priming in had 3 windows open plus a fan, so possibly more air movement than outside in most places. And at this point everything is primered for now, hopefully when I next paint itll be decent out (one of my lawn chairs has some black paint on it, if anyone asks it was an evil paint fairy that did it ).
Thanks for caring though
