Hello

I have been working on a design for a mini game and looking for local talented artists willing to join our team.

I am looking for honest hard working mini war fans, that have talent in 3D graphic Design, sculpting, Comic Book style Art. and a strong love for Space Opera.

I am looking for people that will sign a non-disclosure agreement and willing to dedicate some time to a growing project and kick starter.

I am willing to pay.

I am currently in the design stage and hope to begin play testing in the next 2 to 6 months.

Thank you please send me a PM if you are interested live in the toronto area and have a portfolio to show.

Once again I am looking for honest people.

All your ideas are welcome.

Thanks for reading.

Is no one in the toronto area even a little interested in being part of this project? We are also looking for play testers.

Anyone?

My crew and I are in Toronto. Most of them are former WHF/40K players, and all of us have Malifaux experience.

While we have a few skilled writers in our midst, none of us are 3D artists, so I didn't think it was worth mentioning at the time.

I'm not in the Toronto area, but again I'm a writer, not a 3d artist :-\.

Perhaps you should contact Lar Desouza, though you better be willing to pay and pay a good price as he does good work and makes his living off of doing comic book style art.

We are a small team of people that work minimum wage jobs. We are looking for people willing to work and join our team, and yes I am willing to pay. But we are not Marvel comics and will not pay hundreds of dollars for work. I am an artist myself and don't ask for over 15$ an hr for any project that I work on. Considering it takes me about 20 mins to sketch something, you can assume how much I am willing to pay. Roughly about 20 to 50$ a page. Depending on the skill of the artist. And honestly we are looking for people not to try to take advantage of us. But people willing to jump on board and join our team.

We could use a few writers.

Best of luck, but all of the professional artists I know (and plenty of them are the type that are willing to jump on board and join a team) don't even get out of bed for a piece that under 100, not because they wish to take advantage of people, but because that 100 dollar piece of art is food in their mouth, electricity in their house, and gas in their car. I would be willing to playtest when you get things off the ground, assuming you're willing to ship stuff across Lake Erie to Cleveland.

I'd be willing to playtest. I live in toronto and know plenty of people more than likely willing to try new games. Good luck getting this set up :-)

Our group (just east of Toronto) would be more than willing to playtest a game as well but we are limited in our artistic abilities.

Experienced board gamers, miniature wargamers (several ww2 mini games, wh40k, star wars x-wing, angels20, wings of war) and convention hosts.

I would never pay anyone over 100$ a page for anything. That's flat out high way robbery and I am a professional artist. I also live right near OCAD if your unfamiliar with it it the Ontario College Of Art and Design and no one going there would charge a 100$ a page. Especcially if they are not established, and already raking it in. I'm not looking for Larz. I'm looking for students willing to be paid a fair wage for honest work.

You're lying and pulling numbers out of your arse. I doubt that a starving artist would turn down money period especially for sketches. I would understand a person working for Marvel would ask for more then that. But I'm not looking to work with "Larz"

I would drop my juice on the floor if someone said I will pay you 100$ for a sketch. I'm not asking for works of "art" I'm looking for fellow artists. Painters... whom work for hours and hours and hours on art may get over 100$ an hour but that's painting.

No offense man but your lying. Sorry but I know plenty of professional artist that would just be happy to be paid. For sketches.

Someone not getting out of bed for under 100$ would quickly become homeless. Many of my friends that are not able to work on this project spend hours every day looking for gallery for submissions and often showing there art and paying fees for there work. If they did not take commissions for what they roughly charge is 20$ to 50$ and these are people that pay there rent with just art. Would be priced out and homeless. Meaning they would not be able to get a client.

And again I know the game and how much I charge and how much other profesional artist charge. I've seen art go for 1000$ of dollars but in a gallery, and after years of hard work. After hours and hours of painstaking detail. And hardly a sketch. Especially when they are just a joe blow off the internet.

This is a problem with many "Artist" it's pretentious and people just want to take advantage of you. I charge 15$ an hour to build, a deck paint a house. Because I believe in honest business. And I never charge over 15$ an hr for art. I woud not have a bed to get out of if I was pretentious in that way. Sure If the project is over 10 hours long. But if you take over 10hrs to sketch something. Then your not who I am willing to work with.

*sigh* I love that I'm called a liar because my experiences differ from yours. I work with an artist that is currently doing work with 6 different companies, two of them being some of the bigger players in Nottingham (albeit not the Ivory Tower), I've commissioned him for a piece for a game I'm developing in my own time with my own money (i.e. not company time and money), and I've asked for his rates, and I was told his prices, which were not very different than other artists I had sought out.

I'm sure that the Ontario College of Art and Design are filled with artists that wish to get a foot in the door, and are willing to work for lower rates than they'd like because they have less debt, more time, and a smaller portfolio. Working for peanuts gives them an opportunity to build their resume while they aren't desperate for the work and while they're still honing their skills.

Also, how much are you planning on spending on 3D sculpts? Because I hope you're not planning on lowballing your 3D artist

No, you are a liar. Liar.

$100 is the lower average for concept work in this industry.

When someone who has several published games under there belt tries to give you advice, they likely know what they are talking about.

Didn't exactly the same thing happen in the last few threads that you posted about your game where people offered contrary opinions and you got all bent out of shape?

So I am a liar? So if I charge less. It makes me a lowballer? Or is paying a fair wage for a sketch dishonest to to you in some way? So when I charge 15$ an hour for a project and people call my prices high. Are they liars to? No it's I understand that most people don't have money. Like I don't have money. I have to work very very hard to make rent money. And afford to eat and have beer at the end of the day.

I understand that "a professional artist" (pretentious ass hat) might get paid a gak ton of money for work once they are established but I am not looking for "professional artists" I am looking for the little guy that is looking for gain from the long haul. And what part do you not understand about a small team ?

We are the little guys and this guys insulting condescending comments are hurting my outreaching to a "COMMUNITY" for help.

We are trying to support the hobby. I don't get paid 100$ a page so it makes me liar to you? And I live off my art. I live off my music and I live off my hands. FOR AN HONEST WAGE..

Sure I am sorry that I am agitated at the comments. And replied in kind but your friends comments are insulting.

I agree his experiences are different from mine. Thanks for ruining this thread. And thank you for undermining Dakka Dakka for me.

Honestly tired of this bs and pretensions artists that try to take advantage of people. And I am an artists so it clearly makes me liar. I am a liar because I charge under 100$ for a sketch. My friend charges under a hundred for his sketches to. Does that make him a liar?

Hmm... my experience must be different then yours.

Well, after the last couple of responses from you Diogenesethedog, count us out on playtesting or any other aspect of this potential future game.

Thanks, but no thanks.

I think it better if you perhaps take some time before responding.
