Interesting, but I'm not sure how they really can say that its only at retail... I assume online stores like Discount Games use the same distributors as everyone else. Miniature Market and The Warstore have physical stores as well. Its a cool idea for a promo though!

I think they mean they're only putting it in stores (online or B&M) for those couple of months

and after that you'd have to rely on getting it direct from them at a con/tournament/etc

Wyrd has had a history of trying to support B&M stores with show-us-your-receipt promotions and such. This unique mini could very well be the next step.

Hmm... do I want to spend $90 for three miniatures that aren't even slated to ship before May 2015? Given that TtB was slated for Sep 2013 and they only delivered the .pdf rulebook last month and nothing else so far, I think not.

Seems like Wyrd is trying to do too much all at the same time with unrealistic delivery windows, and now is just adding crap on clear down the road that they hope to "catch up to". I'm sure that will go just swimmingly.

I've never been as disappointed with a company as much as I have been with Wyrd.

Then to see that they go and do yet another "Project"....

They haven't even done the first non-project yet, and the effort put into it was absolutely abysmal.

I'll go right on out and tell you to look elsewhere for your card game needs, they do not deserve your attention or money.

Since I'm back for a bit, I'll go on ahead and throw up the other Crews and stuff I have for trade/ swaps...

Since we're talking about TTB, here's an idea of how much Wyrd cares about it:

Tell "Dreamchipper" to contact me if he wants in on this KS.

He can pay me and I'll let him get in on this action for a mere 150 bucks.

I'm surprised at the leeway given, particularly by those who are mere fans, and not those with excuse after neglect heaped on them.

The shame is... Malifaux is too good of a game for Wyrd as it exists today (and mind you, I DO wish them success and do hope they grow in a way that lets their ambition meet their reality).

Its a good system, a lot of the models are gorgeous, and it ends up being my favorite game to play for "fun" value, each and every week.

But waiting on releases etc... is misery inducing.

Gotta say, my patience is definitely running out.

An extra 6 months seemed very reasonable. Ending the beta in early January seemed like a positive sign.

Hitting April and getting a *shrug* in response to questions is garnering some ire.

So, obviously "Through the Breach" folks have more to complain about, but as little annoyances go...

Tonight is my club's Malifaux night. The wife and I are excited, packed our mini bag, etc... and now have to begin the new ritual of printing out stat-cards for minis we've long owned.

So not only do I need to be teased with nicer models months upon months in advance (tonight i'll be playing Leveticus while day-dreaming about the set they've shared art for, but with their speed of releases... I know it won't be available to buy for half-a-year-plus), but I don't even have proper stat cards for the same half-year-plus.

I've learned to love Version 2, and even begrudgingly find more better with it than worse. Malifaux is still one of my favorite settings, and a game I look forward to playing every week.... but the Version 2 roll-out has been TERRIBLE.

why has printing cards out become a ritual? Beta's closed on everything but avatars... are you throwing them out each game, or something?

Interesting that they're incorporating faction symbols into the design.

I thought it was interesting that it wasn't applied to all the models. Maybe this is a transition period and they'll do that going forward.

Still no information on Johana I see, and nothing to suggest that it's "in the wild" yet. Hmm.

Everything looks good save the December Acolytes. Like the monks of the low river, their leg proportions seem off and poses seem more interpretive dance. Not thrilled with Bishop's pose either, as he's crouching in the art and doing some kind of weird kneel in the mini.... but anything is an improvement over his old POS sculpt. Somer's crew looks frickin awesome. Governer's proxy also looks great... I have a demonic monk NPC in a game he'd be perfect for, but man, that feather is as good as toast. Wyrd's 3D render guys never seem to realize these are intended as actual physical objects that are handled.

Seriously. The old metals aren't bad by any stretch (by and large), but the new plastics are three steps up from anything else they've put out.

The new gunslingers and Bishop are exactly what I was hoping for. I was already planning on getting a Viks crew, but these just seal the deal.

Loving the December Acolytes, may have to start a crew for them (maybe I just dig interpretive dance???). Ditto with the Dawn Serpent.

I'm suddenly glad I never picked up metal Lenny and the skeeters. Although, I'm glad I've got the old metal gremlins. Never can have enough bayo gremlins.

I like them too. They seem more ninja-y then I remember, but it's still a cool look.

Yeah, I really like those December Acolytes. Not enough to start a new faction (I already have a huge pile of unpainted Guild models), but damn, they are tasty.

Has it been shown what the plastic LCB will look like yet?

No, but one of the last two or three Chronicles has some artwork for LCB, and since Wyrd sculpts almost exactly to the artwork that will give you an idea of what it will look like.

I've been beginning to suspect the opposite. All Wyrd's art style is the same and it matches almost perfectly with the sculpts. Every perspective position from rips to folds to other small details match on both the art and the 3D rendered model.

They likely sculpt the model digitally, render a screenshot in the desired perspective, then edit the picture for box artwork.
