Malifaux is already 32mm, the same scale as Warmachine. Though not heroic 32mm.
So I'd guess in terms of model count. A few small squads, a character or two, a few large models in a game.
Very exciting idea.

So who do I see about selling my soul for minis?
That kind of game size really is my sweet spot, Wyrd minis are basically the best out there, their rules are tight and the setting/style has so much potential... This really could be epic!

I don't know, they could have done so much more with it than just a big version of a Dawn Serpent imo, I would have liked it more if they had properly gone down the Asian demon path for the emissary.

Which gives us an Oni Henchman, totem, and 2 minions. I smell an Oni master or some upcoming Oni synergy in the next wave.
As for the Emissary...eh. I kitbashed the old Avatar Hoffman to make mine (giant scrapdragon).

Since nobody has thought to post it. Wyrd are doing a world wide event that is going to move the story forward. Nythera: A Worldwide Event. Works like the old GW worldwide campaigns. You register as a faction, and when you and your opponent play, you declare a region you're fighitng in. Log victories on their website. As a bonus, Through the Breach is included with a set of 3 one shot adventures with pre-made Fated. When you register the results, they give you a new adventure (I'm assuming there's set end points, and the follow up adventures are based on your ending). The prize for the players who win the most Malifaux games is the chance to name the faction for the Nightmare box (first prize) and Miss model (second prize) at next years GenCon. The Through the Breach prizes sound interesting. The outcomes of the adventures will determine how the story progresses, and determine which Fated will become a Malifaux character. edit - correction, results need to be registered through Henchmen. I guess that's to stop random people stacking results. How to register results without a Henchman (lets face it, this game isn't that popular that there's Henchmen everywhere) will be revealed later.

Oh yeah. I remember a long time ago that they had another event and the Arcanists won. They were supposed to get an alternate sculpt for Kaeris.

As far as I can remeber they did get an alternate sculpt, not sure when it came out anymore but there's two plastic versions of Kaeris floating about. The one that comes in the current boxed set and one that was released seperately some time ago (think black friday or something, not entirely sure anymore).

The emissaries are all on 50mm bases, yes. We don't know scale yet as they don't put them on their bases in the preview.

Every time I check their site I want to buy a few dozen models. Luckily I stood fast and only got the Executioners for CSM servitor conversions. But that Carrion Emissary. I need it. Way better than the Mierce Ravenmen.
How long does it take for the previewed models to turn up at retail?

Wyrd has said that the emissaries (and presumably all models going forward) will be fewer parts, and fewer TINY parts, due to them having access to better casting methods and having more experience with plastic now. Hopefully that's correct and we'll find out for sure this summer.

As an Arcanist player, I really hate the Arcane Emissary; it looks dumb. As with Envy, I'm going to need to find a decent proxy.
As much as I love the game, many Malifaux models are very hit-or-miss. It just so happens that many of my favorite models are awful misses while I end up buying models I'll never use because they look so awesome. The quality is always there; it's just the design choices that I disagree with.
I'm happy that these previews mean Wyrd is sticking to their renders in a heavily shaded look. Their older box renders and older previews were exceptionally glossy and made the model look like cheap plastic. They hid the great sculpts.
EDIT: Unfortunately, the Spawn Mother & Gupps preview seems to still have the high-gloss render.

Nah, but their legs look off to me. And I'm looking for humanoid ravens that I can use as PP Griffon warbeasts together with a Blood Rage model that'll count as Una the Falconer. That model is the Raven Clan shaman/hag and she wears a rope, has a sickle, heck, I think she's carrying a pot around. The emissary model has robes and a sickle (even some sort of skull brazier that looks a bit like a pot, but I'd remove thatp). It's a good fit, I think.

At least it doesn't have bird boobs and the wings are so static looking. Poses of 1 and 5 are good, the rest are a bit stiff.
Feel free to send me a couple and prove me totally wrong, though, one birdie won't cut it, anyway, and I'm a fan of Mr. Chaudon's work in general. Before I saw that render I was actually thinking about getting one or two of those guys, but for their price I better love every ruffled feather on them.

Yea, Carrie's not bad either. Beaks with teeth leave me a bit cold, and if those are blades in her wings then I'mma have to roll my eyes like I do every time I see Belakor (or a number of GW baddies with stuff-stuck-in-their-wings), however I'm excited to see it in the plastic.
Also, I'm excited to never have to build the Lucky Emissary

I play both Arcanists and 10T, so I got excited when I heard about this. I don't understand the point of this Tortoise and Hare encounter. They have factions, but they can be taken by any faction, but only if the scenario allows for it? Avatars were at least cooler, in a way; at least they're centerpieces to a collection.
With the Hodgepodge Emissary, Tortoise, and Hare, I'm happy to see Wyrd exploring more design space regarding attaching specific upgrades over the course of the game. "Effects" that last until the end of the game with conditional triggers (Hare damage enemy or Tortoise defend well) are great design space.
Then again, it's better for Malifaux if they don't force people to buy the entire boxed set of Crossroads 20 or the Starter Set if they want to just use one model from it.
Those creepy-chubby-fairies are awesome!
