No, Space Cheese (Wolves) crush us in HTH. They can double tap us at 12" and then overwatch and then have as many HTH attacks as we do on the charge. I just try to out shoot Space Wolves.

which is also nigh impossible, grey hunters op man. The biggest thing about wolves, (only one wolves player in my area) that aggravate me is the lone wolf and ALL THE TERMINATOR ARMOR. term armor ruins my day :/ specially since most SW have a 3+ :/ eh. I hold my own in HtH still though. I enjoy fielding my axe wielding sanguinor vs them though, makes for epic fights also, do you run flamers or meltaguns on your assault squads? I use both melta and flamers. Although I think my latest lists all have melta, because I let the C:SM guys tote the flamers.

Actually, I play a hybrid mech BA list that outshoots SW frequently. Remember what I said about the ML? Well SW players like to spam them. I'd like to thank them for filling their heavy slots with a horrible weapon.

The BA are the worst list in the game right now. You might as well play what looks fun. Because you probably won't win against even a semi-competitive list. BA are too overcosted across the board.

I wouldn't say they are the worst, they are ONE of the worst codexes atm. due to costs but hey, we can have army wide FnP, that has to count for something haha. as said, there are "competitive" BA lists, but they usually get out done. been playing my BA as count as UM successors a bit to try out the new C:SM, I love the cheaper units. miss the FnP but overall, the new codex is better, but not by THAT much unit wise, what puts them over are the chapter tactics.. we get a 1/6 chance to get a "Chapter Tactic" that may hurt us.. that we pay for :/.

That aside, I have actually had mixed results vs eldar WS armies. if I can roll decent and live through the first turn, and, god forbid, 2nd turn of fire I usually pull out a win, as I normally run a very much in your face assault army w/ some pods to distract em.

that being said, what vehicles do you take? baal preds? atm I am running a stormraven for the AA and firepower.

BA will get better, don't fret. My bet is that they get some sort of new super fast unit like Space Marine Jet Bikes. That'd be rockin'!

Name a codex worse than BA. They are the worst. It's not even really close. I've army swapped with Ork players three times now and tabled the BA twice. BA are awful. Capital A. Lack of model count is 100% fatal in 6th edition. Even against a 4th edition codex like Orks.

I am very skeptical about the BA even being mediocre when they drop. You can count on the Orks and Tyranids being better and HTH and the Tau/Eldar out shooting them badly still.

The marine concept fails in an edition where HTH is so weak, because we have points wrapped up in being generalists.

Admittedly, I know right where to hit BA and what to do to them, but still.

They would set up the BA, and I would tell them right off, they have nothing I care about. DC are useless because I will choose what they assault or spoiling assault them. Everything cost so much that the BA both can't afford losses and don't hit back effectively.

I do fairly well vs orks, also, Dark angels have a rather bad codex as far as it goes. nifty things in it, but its very meh though it does have better builds than BA usually..

I am agreeing with you on the fact that BA have it rough, but they are far from unplayable. that being said... I do play my ravenwing if a game is going to be more competitive, if FnP was still a 4+ BA would be doing a lot better :(.

I personally still think Orks codex is worse than ours. if only by a power swords edge.

Yea, my draigowing has smushed two BA armies so far. It really is sad that they aren't better because they are definitely in my top 3 Astartes armies (Iron Hands, Space Wolves, Blood Angels). My Sisters are the best, though. Tempted to try them as "counts-as" Salamanders.

I had a fun game a while back, 6 man jump packs DC w/ 2 PFs and 2 THs hoped out of the storm raven as it zoomed over an enemy flank, multicharged em and overran 2 troop choices to clear them off of objectives last turn of them game for a close win. had some lucky rolls but hey! wins a win!. haha.

Nah, I can massacre BA with Orks. Now against the field? Neither list can handle serpent spam, or Tau shooting. Or Daemons. Tie breaker to the Orks because of heads up.

There's unplayable and then there's needing insane luck to compete. At what point does needed insane rolls become "unplayable"? The BA can't make enough saves or kill enough at range to threaten, well, anyone.

DA got hosed by being the first codex. The DA would be head and shoulders above BA if the Helldrake didn't exist. DA are a matchup I usually do okay in, but the DA are WAY better against the field.

Realize that you can't assault the turn you grav chute. That's a fatal flaw with that scheme. And I do mean fatal.

can you not? this was a while ago and neither of use thought about that with it being an assault vehicle... I will have to look that up. either way you can just go hover mode if thats really the case.

That is the case, because you can never assault after using deep strike rules. In fact, a major flaw with Stormravens is that their occupants assault turn 3 at the SOONEST. I've abused GK because of that more than once.

well, either way, at that point in the game I would just have went hover mode, then charged. the storm raven whiffed its shooting that turn anyhoo. lol. That was the only charge those DC made mind you, and the only CC they got into as well! lol.
