I've always liked the Alpha Legion. Lots of covert operations and trickery, a mysterious history and some fun implications about their true motives. I just find them to be the most interesting Chaotic Legion.

Honourable mention to the Word Bearers. I like Chaos unidivided and they are natural enemies for my SoB.

Where's my purge! Green and black and gold death! Easy pain scheme too.

Ditto on Alpha Legion and Word Bearers. By far the most interesting legions.

My favourite are the Emperor's Children (duh). Because sex, drugs and rock'n'roll, ironic name, ironic battlecry and fabulous paint scheme

I also like Alpha Legion for their troll tactics and Iron Warriors for their usage of heavy vehicles and siege warfare. Thousand Sons are kind of meh, but I like their visual aesthetic. Frankly speaking, the only major Chaos warband I don't like is World Eaters.

I prefer the Iron Warriors myself. A bunch of sadistic buggers who willingly give themselves over to the Obliterator Virus, and one of the most organized and experienced siege forces in the galaxy.

Iron Warriors. Because artillery, tanks and slave labour are always good for a laugh. Not to mention winning battles by the power of mathematics is never not going to be cool.

Iron Warriors because they remind me of me! There's a lot to like with the others but the Iron Warriors just appeal to me deeply so I pick them.

I voted Red Corsairs because I like the Badab War era. And Huron Blackheart is a badass

Word Bearers. You can't beat fanaticism.

Night Lords, love the use of fear tactics

Red Corsairs are just all out badass.

I also have a soft spot for Ahriman and his Prodigal Sons. What's cooler than a Renegade going renegade on his own (Traitor) Legion and pissing into his own (Daemon) Primarch's morning coffee?

Word Bearers is what 40K is all about: religious/medieval zealotry with arcane technology.

Night Lords, because they're bad, they've always been bad, and they don't apologize for being bad. Emperor's Children as a very close second...

The Thousand Sons were awesome while they still were loyal, but now that they're not, I must say Emperor's Children. The reasons are:

1) They're total nutcases, psychotically obsessive in a quest for extremes! Lots of sex, lots of drugs, lots of weird sex, lots of pain, lots of weird sex that's painful, lots of weird sex while on drugs that are painful. They also have an interesting colour scheme that definetely shows up from the bunch (black-purple, or black-pink).

2) Noise Marines - the main reason why dubstep and grindgore are banned in the Imperium (THINGS SHALL GET LOUD NOW!)

3) Doomrider! NA NA NA NA!

Night Lords. They are the ultimate Cynics, and they did not sell out to the Chaos Gods nor the Imperium.

Yeah that's a tough number to beat...

Alpha Legion! They have the best lore I think. The whole grand deception thing was a good storyline and it will be interesting to see how that really played out. Also, the Blood Gorgons because they had a great book.

Red Corsairs because who would not be a fan of true Pirates?!

Word Bearers. Reasons?

1) the other "book guys", a fun counter to my UM
2) still fight as a unified legion for the most part
3) fun characters to build into the existing ones (I have my Marduk, Kol Badar, M'Kar, and others of my own creation
4) red is so easy to paint
5) makes sense to run cultists
6) worship Chaos Undivided, so anything goes
7) Seriously, read the Word Bearers books, you'll get it

My favourite is death guard due to their preference of infantry based tactics. It is also amusing to imagine a steady, relentless advance of plague marines. It would be quite horrifying to unload your magazine into one of them, watch pieces fly off, and yet they still advance without a care in the world.

My thoughts exactly!

Alpha Legion had my vote, their methods of war are clever, and the mystery surrounding their loyalties and aims make them fascinating.

THE BLACK LEGION why because a black suit makes anyone look good. actually I love their story line being Horus's legion, and the Black Legion is the Legion getting things done 13 BLACK CRUSADES not Iron, or word but black crusades. They are the only legion to change their names twice no less. Abbadon is a beast. and I just really like the paint scheme.

Night Lords. I used to think that Chaos Space Marines were the stupidest, most lazily-written, one-dimensional, nonsensical piece of crap in the entirety of science fiction. But Aaron Dembski-Bowden totally turned me around on them. (At least the Night Lords. I still feel nothing but contempt for the Black Legion. Fingers crossed, ADB converts me to their camp as well!)

I like the personality that he imparted on the Legion as a whole, and the warbands of Vandred and Talos in particular. Although the models would be a bear and a half to paint.
