It looks like the Space Wolves codex is going to be out about 3 weeks before Nova. Do you think we could have an email straw poll to determine it's legality? I know the hard rule is a month prior to the codex, but the codex will feel like old news by Labor Day.

Full disclosure, I don't play Space Wolves or know anyone who plays Space Wolves. I am just a man who wants to see the extremely unlikely scenario where final game result comes down to two Murderfangs murdering each other at the bottom of turn 7, game 8 on the top table.

I'm sitting here talking about the idea of allowing both a la LVA with Nids right now.

I play Wolves and I'd be down with it. Nothing like painting an army in 3 weeks

I vote for polling those registered to attend so I can vote for allowing them. And I don't play Wolves.

I don't think a poll will be necessary, because I think we are leaning toward allowing them (and possibly allowing the old dex as well for those who've invested substantial resources by chance into a now-dated build).

I'm cool with the old dex being permitted too. I think it's the right call if you are going to allow a codex less than a month old. But yeah, Space Wolves!!!!! It's been like 3 Nova's since I ran Space Wolves. And they have dreads with storm shields!!!!! That you can hit people with!!!!

Has there been a definitive FAQ posted thusfar for rules questions for 40k? I've been directed to Whiskey and 40k so far.
Specifically, have they decided on the ability of units to re-embark onto Night Scythes?

That's the most up to date live version, but we are working on an update for tomorrow / the next day.

Additionally, the final primer will release [tomorrow] and - presuming the availability of lifetime - should have the updated FAQ within it as well (as the updated primer is what we send to print for our super shmexy guidebooks, and we include the FAQ within for player reference).

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Shout-out also to our terrain guys ...

We built over 1,500 new pieces of terrain this year, including doubling the 40K center blockers (though that's only 128 pieces!).

Several of the 40k GT/Invitational missions received substantial updates; the google doc is a live publish, so they're up there in the sample indie miscat packet:

Working on final updated Primer now to cover all information.
Also updating Narrative primer finishing touches now (thing is a monstrous 43 pages so ...)
Also Trios primer is updated on site, should include army construction guidelines.

I believe he has mentioned a couple of times that rooms not in the block are $189/night instead of $89/night.

Yeah, you might be able to find discounts and things like that outside the block but we won't be able to guarantee anything.

Down to about 6 rooms ish left? Really kinda curious what happens here, the block is so generous we've never quite cleared it (though always cleared the mins).

Final primers will go out today on our newsletter and up on our site.

Well, the primer is sitting in a newsletter draft about to hit "send."

Also, should be up on site already or very shortly.

FAQ is a "live" google doc so will update with any/all changes made, just let us know which ones need to be made or are not currently addressed.

The missions have been updated for about a week now, and that is also a live-published google doc, linked form the site. But the full 8-round mission set is up as of any minute now.

I remember you mentioning previously that it would be using the more fair 6th edition Deployment/First turn determination instead of 7th's. Is this the case, if so the mission packet didn't expressly explain that change.

Will it be deploy first and go first, or deploy first with choice to go first or second? Probably needs clarification one way or the either, especially if it is changed back to the 6th edition version.

No problem, the more eyes on it the better.

Edit: Also, it would a good clarification to add to the FAQ about Super Heavy Walkers Movement through Difficult Terrain, ie as a Walker with Move Trough Cover which is 3d6 Take the Highest.

I know the RAW is extremely clear, but there are still many who insist they should move faster than that due to their standard 12" move.
