Anyone iffed that the Terminua Ultra didn't make it into the new Space Marine codex? Now we have to wait another 5 years till we get another chance of it being made "official chapter approved"

Or generally speaking, I would have wanted more Land Raider variants to make it into the new codex, shame they have stuck with the same 3 types since last edition. Look at the Guard and how their 2 Leman Russ variants got upped to 6 in the last one, was hoping something like that would also be done to the Space Marines and their Land Raiders, but alas.

Course, we're free to convert and field any we like, as long as we have our opponent's permission and aren't playing in a tourney. Besides, it's not like we are really bringing Apoc-scale stuff into regular 40k, are we? No titans, baneblades etc. But with the dawn of Riptides, Wraithknights etc. it would have been a resounding response if the SMs could now bring Terminus Ultras to the table without having to borrow the rules from Forgeworld.

What's your favorite Land Raider pattern?

You can bring all those Land Raider variants to the table using Forge World.

I don't see the problem.

No you can't. The LR Terminus Ultra was an Apocalypse datasheet from back in 4th edition. It has never been printed in any non-Apocalypse source (or any FW book), and now that the pdf datasheets have been removed from GW's website it doesn't even exist anymore outside of one Ultramarines Apocalypse formation (which requires the Ultramarines tank character to drive it) in one of the new warzones.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Ah, well the other variants are available from FW.

I'm just miffed the Land Raider Ares (imagine the front half of a Vindicator grafted onto a Redeemer) was never reprinted.

I agree! I want a Land Raider Ares. Just don't want to pay an arm and a leg collecting all the bits I need to make it. Also the rules are pseudo-official and out of date...

They had a conversion guide on the site. You pretty much need a Redeemer kit and a Vindicator kit plus some spare card to widen the siege shield and a fine-toothed saw, and you can get a Rhino out of the rest of the Vindicator parts.

Pfft, why get an Ares when you could have this?

Anyway, yeah, it would be nice to see a few more variants make it into popular use.

Yeah. Kronk is not happy about that at all...

Fortunately, Kronk printed out the datasheet.

Minor quibble. Both of the warzone books state that you are not only free to use the new formations in any apoc game but are encouraged to do so.
