I assume it's so that any fresh stains will actually show up, as opposed to blending in. BB fans prefer to know just how much stuffing has been knocked out of their opponents, so they can decide whether to invade the pitch due to a lack of action or not.
Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Aye I hope that's the case

They need to make some vast improvements over the game modes if they hope to get any sort of fan base going. Seemed like only BB veterans found the first one appealing, everyone else got frustrated trying to play it.
I'm terrible at it, but I own the tabletop version and love it, but the PC version was just bleh. Keep the traditional mode, but we need something that plays like blitz or something.

Shiny new graphics aside, I hope they improve the AI. I don't play online modes and playing against an AI that cheats something rotten is not much fun.
Was just wondering how they plan to actually get a new game out of this. I guess if they just fix half the bugs in the old one and dust off the graphics it would be a big improvement...but not necessarily worth a new game.
Then again, the same NFL game comes out every year and people apparently buy it. Maybe Blood Bowl will try to emulate that style of marketing (I hope not though).

The people in the past who convinced themselves to do unspeakable things were no less human than you or I. They made their decisions; the only thing that prevents history from repeating itself is making different ones.

Blood Bowl has been released 3 times so far (original, legendary and chaos editions), I don't see that Cyanide will have any problems issuing Blood Bowl 2(4)
I quite liked the original, the AI was a bit ropey and the RNG was blatantly not a RNG but it was quite decent and if you could get a good league going it was an enjoyable, if tense, multiplayer game.

Do not underestimate the Squats. They survived for millenia cut off from the Imperium and assailed on all sides. Their determination and resilience is an example to us all.

Its just a shame that they couldn't fight off Andy Chambers.

Wait, legendary and chaos were full on "new" games? I thought they were that fabled relic of times gone by known as the "expansion pack". Like if you had the original and you wanted chaos edition you'd pay full retail price?
Learn something new every day I guess.

They were expansion packs but they are all classed as standalone games and are priced above what an expansion pack normally is, Chaos edition for example currently costs £20 and its about 2 years old.

They were standalone expansions. That doesn't make it a full new game. It just means they were nice enough not to keep charging you if you didn't own the old ones. Add that you got massive discounts on steam for owning previous titles so yes, they are expansions.
Anyway, I liked the PC game and it is actually what got me into it, never played tabletop. Quite looking forward to this.

Steam is not the entire gaming market and they aren't priced as expansions.

I play in online leagues pretty regularly, and have no issues with the current implementation doing so. The AI could use some work for single player mode.
What I'd like to see is a way to (and especially for single player mode), just enter teams and players. A lot of BB tournaments have different rules for team generation (like at Adepticon, it's 1.1M $$, plus one of three stat boost options (either 5 regular and 1 double skill on different players, or 2 skills on two players, or a stat increase on a player)).
I'd like to be able to just design and test teams online without having to play through all sorts of nonsense games just to get the players configured as I want them.
