Lookin good so far, can't wait to see the rest! If you want more practice games against nasty demon lists, one of my buddies is a pretty good player who runs both a Dog list and a Flying Demon list, I can get you guys hooked up.

Thanks for the offer, I'll have to take you up on that when I'm out towards the Fox Valley. I actually faced three Daemon Opponents, two Screamerstars and the Khorne Rush list, I was wondering how I got so lucky, lol.

tbh, you did well against the khorne rush list, but i have seen much better lists with dogs than that.
Anyhow solid game, and it proves that Farsight Enclaves are much better than people give credit to it.

I agree that there are better Khorne Dog lists out there, but the guy got 4th with them. An unbalanced list, but a solid player none the less. Automatically Appended Next Post: Game 5 Posted. Automatically Appended Next Post: Game 6 Posted.

Awesome quickie reports so far. After long tournaments it's definitely hard to remember the blow by blow details. Hell, I can't even be bothered to take pictures!
Your list looks like a lot of fun to play. At first I didn't understand the lack of Broadsides. After reading the reports, I can really see an advantage to not having a static firebase.
I have to ask, why FW over Kroot? Just for the army aesthetic, or points?

Thanks, Its tough to remember all of the details as you don't have time to take notes, especially with the relatively short rounds that the Renegade had.
FW over Kroot?
Well, it was easier to make Firewarrior Drones, than Kroot Drones to keep my theme. Firewarriors have a walk on threat range of 36" and walk on Rapid Fire range of 21", keeping fragile scoring units like that alive and at range becomes critical. I already have a lot of mobile scoring and can get anywhere I need them. Kroot outflank, 1/3 of the time they come in on the wrong board edge, whereas Firewarriors always walk on from my board edge and in Vanguard or Pitched Battle can threaten 75% of the board. S5 vs S4, though Kroot Snipers are nice. Minimum costs, 54pts vs 60pts. That being said I do miss the ability to Outflank Kroot.

Thank you, only one more to go. Daemons are tought, but I feel my list matched up fairly well, though FMC Spam can give it troubles. I'm surprised I was able to beat the two Screamerstars, I lacked the long range fire power I thought I needed. If I could get 1st turn against a Rush list I shouldn't have too much difficulty either. Spearhead and not getting first turn made my best Daemons tech up into the one I lost.

Too bad to hear about you and TK. I played against him once, though it was an "interactive" battle from 2 different Time Zones. He is a really good player. You can find that report here (it was a very close game as well):
1750 Jy2's Hive Fleet Pandora vs Tomb King's The Ugly Misfits - An Interactive Battle
Wished the circumstances between you 2 could have been better, but I understand not everyone will get along.
As for Kenth's daemons, I actually saw them at the ATC 2013. Yeah, it was a stunner. I especially loved his Maulerfiend conversion.
However, the Heralds cannot be Warlord. It has to be the LoC (has the highest LD). In any case, I am quite surprised he did as well as he did without Fateweaver. Really, Fatey is the one that makes the list works. Running a screamerstar without Fatey is liking running your army without the Buff Commander....it just isn't as good. But bravo for him to try something a little different and more challenging.

I agree, is he a really good player and I wish we got along too, but I firmly believe his pursuit of winning is put ahead of his integrity and sense of fair play. He may be a stand up guy outside of the game, but across the table he makes for the least enjoyable games and personally I wouldn't play against the guy unless I had to in tournament play, and next time I'm sure it will be a another exhausting grueling affair where I have to watch every minuscule iota of the game.
Good catch on Kent's Warlord, I missed that as I thought Heralds were LD8. Makes his list worse. Fateweaver does bring a lot, but I'm not sold on him being the only way to run the Star. A LOC does bring quite a bit to the table especially if you aren't running all four Heralds. Kenth did make it further than the other couple of ScreamerStars that showed up.
Thanks for the pictures of his army, the basing was truly amazing.

Zag, it was nice to put an avatar to a face ;-)
I was the sole Tyranid player at Renegade. I'm glad you did so well! It's too bad you had such a bad experience with TK.
I was glad I didn't run into any such player and I really enjoyed my experience at Renegade! I look forward to next year. Are you planning on Dark Star?
Your list looks like it did well and you are quite a smart general. I was sad we didn't get more of a chance to chat (the schedule was grueling!)
Cheers!

Likewise, it was fun chatting when we did get the chance. How did you end up? I agree the schedule was grueling, I'm hoping they extend round times by 15 minutes next year.
I'm looking at doing the Dark Star and am tentatively planning on it. I'm sure with Nids on the Horizon you won't be the sole bugs player then!
Thanks for the compliments, I am pretty happy with how I did any my list performed overall. There were plenty of good players and tough lists around.

I received a message that I was mentioned in the thread. All I can say is I am sorry you feel that way. Certainly did not get that vibe from anyone else. As for the integrity thing I kind of take that one personal given my profession and you can ask the judges I even informed my opponent that they were forgetting stuff that actually helped them on multiple occasions(example: My opponent trying to give me saves from SMS etc...). If you want you can verify my sportsmanship score through the event. I understand you were upset after our game. You thought you had it won and you had a good chance of winning. Sometimes gak happens and your opponent pulls off an unlikely comeback. That is not a reason to get upset and slander a name though. Either way I wish you the best and hope if we ever have to play again that the game is more enjoyable.

My opinion of you has been pretty consistent and not in line with your insinuations of me being simply a sore loser. Though, I must admit it is a very nice attempt at making me the bad guy.
I posted this two months ago in a thread about immature players.
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/30/556990.page#6136028
I even posted I thought you had matured, giving you the benefit of the doubt and I truly wanted to believe it, but you proved me wrong.
I created my Dakka account and made my first post to refute your wildly inaccurate claims and whining about our first game.
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/30/403205.page#3479715
The judges were aware of your reputation and had other accounts of your behavior. I did not imagine others freely giving me their opinions of you unsolicited, some of which have been individuals via PM from your local area wishing to remain anonymous.
I do not know what your profession is, I vaguely recall something about the military, but I call them like I see them. I would not say what I did unless I was confident in my conclusions. Slander is spoken, not written. You meant libel, both of which have the requisite of being false. My stated facts and assessment based upon my experiences with you and those you've been in contact with don't qualify either. You may be a stand up guy IRL, but across the gaming table is a very different story.

Sorry about that. I've been busy and the release of Escalation has put a huge damper on my 40k interest.
In sumary, he went 1st, and was rocking me pretty hard. I got unlucky, Commander plus IA Riptide can hit the 9 Dark Reapers I put under the template in two tries. My IA Riptide also fails 3/4 Novas, and all FNP.
End of Turn 3, I have three wounded Riptides, he's lost both Wraithknights. I'm down quite a bit of scoring and he makes the insane courage his fleeing Kroot needed to rally on top of the only terrain piece that could block LOS to them. That meant I could at best draw Primary, insanely lucky.
I started making mistakes and dice turned against me while his were pretty good with the insane courage being huge. Only die roll that I needed and got was my 4+ cover against Distort.
Anyway, after the bottom of 3 with three Riptides left I just pulled my models, apologized, and conceded because I flat out was mentally done despite a strong chance of drawing and potentially winning by tie breakers. My fiancé was exhausted, and leaving an hour and a half early was too appealing. I had tried to take the bye but wasn't allowed to. Still got home after 10pm and had to be at work for 7am.

The list was super fast, but IMO it was the hounds that make the list. I'd be more scared if it was Fatweaver and some Tzeentch DPs with the Grimiore. The list lacked any shooting and could suffer from some really bad matchups. But as it was he was a great player and the list did what it was supposed to do, got right up in your face and then smashed your teeth in.
I think the list was good for as much Khorne as he brought, but it was really the Hounds that were scary, the Bloodthirster and Khorne Princes I feel could have been replaced with more effective counterparts.
And it wasn't MonoKhorne, he did have two units of Plaguebearers.

How well did he do in the tournament? And yea I blocked the plaguebearers out of my memory. It still looks like a really neat list, and could have maybe been enhanced by some CSM allies with a Heldrake or something to solve the shooting problem.
