Considering placing an order on black friday and was wondering if anyone knows the size of the GW Tray slots. From rough memory I seem to think 1" by 1.5" but I'm not sure. If anyone has them handy (I'm out of the house for the weekend holiday) and could measure the GW tray cavities that would be a big help.

35% off the Leviathan AND they give you an extra sword?! That seems pretty awesome, $78 bucks for a not-titan and accessory... but I just don't think I need one :p

anyone see anything for frpgames.com ? they told me earlier in the week they'd be doing a black friday sale, but seeing as we're into black friday quite a bit, there's nothing on their site and no emails or any sort of discount code i know about...

I didn't see anything on frpgames.com, other than the word "cyber" on their usual clearance. However, I wrote to them and they said they'll have an end of year sale.

Spikey Bits is mostly mini's, but found some FFG and other boardgames (mostly out of stock): $7 shipping up to $100. Gamer Mystery Box at $190: http://www.spikeybits.com/servlet/the-Gamer-Mystery-Box/Categories?ncat=Gamer+Mystery+Box

No mini's, but FunAgain games has Eldritch Horror for $38 and free shipping at $88: https://www.funagain.com/control/currentpromos

Harbor Freight Tool has a BF sale. Mebbe air compressors there! Also saw a portable air compressor at the Amazon BF sale.

Would Arcane Legions work for KoW? I'm going to be a lot of those Han and Egyptians... Also, how do the Alkemy figures stack up?

Thanks, Miniature Market!

KoW is small*ish*, arcane legions, I believe, is more like 20mm.

Still, feth that if you like it enough; it's all unit size based rather than true LOS (notwithstanding one small exception) so go for it.

Well, mostly I am buying them to have something to do while watching this. KoW will be an added bonus.

Since the majority of my not-Chinese Fantasy army are based on converted WGF Rising Sun figures (going for an Initiate Brother vibe) and some Flying General stuff, the Arcane legions minis will probably be a bit short. I guess they'll work as conscripted peasants or members of a recently-'civilized' neighboring ethnicity forced to fight for the Empire.

Also picked up an Aliens clix queen, some Confrontation, and some Star Trek minis, so perhaps it was a good day to buy.

Is it just me, or does the War Store's Black Friday section seem pretty lackluster?

The Warstore black friday sale has never been much to write home about imo.

Ehh, not really I guess. 5% more off of a steady discount (not sure if its 20% for everything they sell, but its usually close) is still better than nothing.

They used to have a lot of cool stuff in their specials and clearance. This year, I didn't see anything as exciting as what MM brought to the yard.

Also, GW prices are now so high that "20% off? With 5% on top of that?? For 24% off altogether???" isn't very compelling any more.

No, but that's why I've sworn off of GW in general, I couldn't afford to make a new army so all of the enthusiasm I get from reading a new codex with fancy new units and rules is vaguely pointless.

They stopped carrying GW bits but I'll be honest I mostly went to eBay sellers for those anyway. Some of their overstock/clearance stuff is pretty good in the 50% off range but its usually more obscure stuff you'd have to just happen to want. Project pandora and dwarf kings hold were both half price (plus black friday atm of course) but they were that before now too. And they've some other stuff I'm not familliar with cheap, but it didn't look too appealing.

The component quality is what's scared me away from DKH and Project Pandora, regardless of the price.

I'll bite if I ever see it reach under 20 (which I did once, but got sniped on ebay trying to get it that low, naturally).

Hopefully this supposed DKH4 will make things right.

oh, and I got my MM shipping notice! I feel bad for the sheer volume they'll be sending me (multiple big, heavy, wide boxes)

Poorly lit photos of my ever- growing collection of completely unrelated models!

Still waiting to see a shipment from MM. Its 1 day, and they're like 2-3 hours away soo.... Just gotta get it sent and I'll have it on the quick. Hoping it comes in soon, looking forward to trying out enforcer schemes before deadzone hits.

We're singing from the same hymnal. I haven't bought any GW stuff since Grey Knights...and I barely went for them. In fact, the BL novels were the only thing keeping me going in Warhammer/40k for years, and now GW have killed the joy in them, too. Unfortunately, it seems like Neal has been banking on the 24% discount for GW products to bring in customers, and it just isn't working any more.

That's where MM kicked butt. Half the stuff I bought from them, I had never really paid any attention to before. But $4 for a boatload of Han infantry? $3 for Alkemy starters? $7 for a Queen alien, a pred and a drone alien? $1 for each of the Confrontation and AT-43 books left in stock? Hell yeah! Oh, and while I'm here, I'll just pick up all the stuff I was planning on buying on Black Friday. It's not like TWS has it cheaper...

And Battlewagon Bits had pretty painful pricing once the War Store bought it out.

Project pandora and dwarf kings hold were both half price (plus black friday atm of course) but they were that before now too. And they've some other stuff I'm not familliar with cheap, but it didn't look too appealing.

No, it doesn't look too appealing. At least, not for TWS's prices. If TWS had thrown some of their older, obvious losers from Firestorm Armada or Tannhauser or whatever into the deep discount bin, they might have had something. If they had reduced some of the Infinity or Mercs models to $3 or less, that might have brought in a few more customers. Instead, they listed a bunch of the usual suspects for roughly the usual prices. I'm not even sure if they had anything in their Black Friday section this year that they didn't have there last year.

Anyway, I didn't mean to be so negative. I just thought it was odd that Neal seems to have lost his edge.

I snagged a few things from TWS - very good prices on a few Warlord items, such as a Panther and the decal sheets, plus the random bolt action vehicle... but yeah I got so many good deals from MM I actually made two large orders (first one a few minutes after the sale went live for a boatload of Mantic stuff, and then later on in the day for more stuff that I was on the fence about and just pulled the trigger anyway). Now I'm contemplating a WGF order to get a some Dreamforge stuff...
I'm also considering hitting MM again and getting a Karman army as my group does still play AT-43 and I've got UNA and Therian forces currently.

Judgedoug, if any of your group plays Red Blok, I am looking for Kommandos bad. People charge online like 40 bucks for them, which is way too much.

MM did indeed win my heart. Plenty of fun, unsupported games priced at such a liquidation level that I now own enough for ten players to enjoy full games... :-p

I pity the guy who packs my Arcane Legion order, as that alone is made up of probably twenty-five huge boxes. :-p

Only problem, as others have said, is that their shipping queue is soooo backed up.
