As I have just recently finished school I have had a whole heap of spare time while I wait and decide what I want for the next thing in my life. Most of that so far has been spent flaying Fallout 3 and New Veges.
After playing for a while I can't help but be inspired by all the terrain.
I have seen other blogs here on Dakka that have fallout inspired stuff and I decided to start my own.
Most things will just be fitting to the theme, but some will be inspired by screenshots from the game

I possibly might even make some fallout inspired minis.

I haven't really done anything yet but this is just a WIP test piece to help me figure out how I will go about doing this (paint scheme, techniques ect.).

Here are some of the types of things I want to do later.

Spoiler:

What I want to do next is find a source of fallout suitable affordable cars and make some bottles and caps

Now I am off to get some more ideas by playing some Fallout.

Squee! Fallout.

I'd have a look at some of the terrain threads here if you're looking for inspiration or resources. Railroad manufacturers and wild west related terrain makers supply stuff that works well, but personally I find going down to my local art supplier and picking up balsa wood will give you good results. I seem to recall dsteingass saying he may have some Nuka Cola bottles left over from his own project if you want to hit him up with a PM too.

Oh, and so as not to miff the mods, I'd suggest uploading your in game screenshots to a hosting site like tinypick and then linking them to here, rather than uploading them here directly. Other than that the uploads are much quicker than Dakka's service.

Awesome looking terrain - gonna have to follow along on this one!

PS - Been a while since I've seen you posting!

"Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be re-learned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim darkness of the far future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods."

Update time, but first!

@Warboss_Waaazag- Thanks Man!
@Wyrmalla- Thanks for the links man! I will have fun sifting through those! dsteingass' stuff is amazing, first time I saw anything Fallout was in his thread, later when I saw Fallout in a steam sale I had to have it.
Yeaah I probably should have uploaded the screenshots to another site. Thanks for the alternative!
@Mortalitas- Thanks bro! I had hardly any time for anything hobby with Yr12 before but now I have almost unlimited time (for a while at least)!

Not much by way of updates, as I haven't got around to doing too much worth showing yet.
I haven't got around to priming the test piece yet, it's still on the to do list.

I have however finished this.

It is an unexploded missile that I chucked together after I found the 'missile' lying around.
The missile itself is a cap dart, I thought it could pass for some kind of nuke or something.
Spoiler:

There will be a bit more to see with the next update.
I have started work on a display board. It will have a Fallout style mine with a snipers nest on top , a satellite building, a shack, barricades and various junkpiles, I am still debating weather I will have a road running through it or not. It is cramped as it.
I have only half done the mine and one junk pile so there is still a bit of work before I can justify a WIP shot, also have a ruined Ork shack that I made a while ago, which with a bit of work I can 'Falloutify' it.

Thanks for stopping by,
Until next time...

Huh, never thought of using darts like that. ...Though it may be a little cheap for me to steal it for my own thread. ^^

Anyhow, post your WIPS! Are you going for a Easter, Fallout 3, style board, or something more along the lines of the stuff appearing in the earlier games and New Vegas? ...Or even a Midwest themed board involving the Legion and the Brotherhood from Tactics?

Steal whatever you want!

It will mostly look like the Mojave Wasteland and stuff you'll find in there, and Fallout: New Vegas I have decided.

Update time...

Have been so distracted lately.

All my free time has been spent shamelessly gaming. I bought so(too) many games during the steam sale...
Just downloaded 28GB worth of games in the last 24 hours or so. Still have 30GB to go...
I have been playing a bit of Fallout New Vegas, but I was stuck in the Big.MT for a while but now I got through it, being the person I am I had to explore EVERYTHING which took ages and was getting tedious although in a good way.
So much good loot...

Anyway I promised an update so...

Display board is coming along SLOWLY.

It's going to be a bit cramped...

The (Toilet)Papier Mâché which was used for the base for these two took ages to fully dry so that I could apply sand and stuff on top of it. but here it is.

Some other stuff as well.. All has to be primed and painted.

Did this a while ago. Thinking of adding shelves like in fallout with random stuff all littered about and maybe a roof

I have not much else to show unfortunately.
I have so many distractions at the moment.

Until next time!
