I was having a discussion with a friend on the bus last night, about models that really SHOULD be remade (Abbadon, I'm looking at you) and then onto those that aren't going to be remade in a looooooong time if ever due to sheer awesomeness/GW not wanting to/other. What we came up with was
-Ghazghkull Thraka; I mean come on, this guy is SO BADASS it's unreal
-Yarrick (who we also decided has an Essex accent) purely because they won't remake Yarrick without redoing Ghazzy which doesn't need to be done, and because he looks pretty damn cool (even if he's going to fall over any second in that pose)
-TDA Calgar; he looks like he means business, very well done and nicely posed

At which point we arrived at our destination, so ran out of time. So I thought I'd throw it out there; are there any models (not necessarily SCs) that you believe won't be remade?

I know, I'm meaning the current version. Glad they did resculpt if I'm honest, he's got "I've been hit by a steamroller" syndrome. I know they couldn't do anything about it but still, glad there's a new one

Agreed. The LRBT and C'fex are now so deepest they'll not get redone (or if they do it'll be minor) and that chaplain... Wow

I can't see the Phoenix Lords getting resculpted at this point, they're already ancient and yet hold their own, in design terms, true classics of the range. It'd be like stripping and redoing the Mona Lisa!

Also, I can't think of any vehicles that'll get a resculpt that haven't already had one, I just don't see it being worth the effort (though god I wish they'd do the Eldar Vyper).

Gargoyles, the Rhino, Bloodcrushers, Ravenors

Gargoyle/Ravenors - reasonably new kits and very good looking with easy assembly
Rhino - too much is based off this little wonder. you would seriously have to rework at least 6 kits to make any changes to this guy.
Bloodcrushers - personally these things are just awesome. Did they just recently switch to plastic? If not then it would make sense for that to happen but not change much overall

Somewhere in my box I have one of Citadel Miniature's original "The Complete Adventurer" from back when they used to make humorous models. I'm not aware that they've ever re-made that one and I doubt they ever will.

The Drop Pod, the Wraithknight, the Dreadnought, the Tac Marine kit, Chaos Raptors/Warp Talons, Obliterators, the Space Wolf infantry kit, the Wraithlord, Wraithguard, the Heldrake, Draigo, the Dreaknight, Grey Knights Terminators and basically the entire Dark Eldar range.

That's a longer list than I expected. Tac Marines I agree, same with the Dreadnought they've had numerous revamp chances.

I can see Oblits getting done at some point, idk they're just... Too weird if you get me.

DE will like get the same treatment again; ignore for ages then complete overhaul.

By the same token though I'll add almost every SoB model, they're seemingly never gonna get done. Ever. And on the Rhino point from earlier, the Chimera-too much is based on it

I'm just saying there's nothing wrong with any of these kits, there's no reason for them to be redone, they're all in line with the highest standards of current models, and there's never going to be a need to change the Dark Eldar line, I also doubt there'l ever be a complete overhaul of an army ever again.

The Rhinos HAVE been redone (the current ones were actually done BY GW, as opposed to a subcontractor who did plastics moulding for toy cars) - but to redo them again would mean redoing all of the add-ons to go with them.

I like the chimera. I don't like the Leman Russ (it's too squat and "metal slug"-like for my liking). I prefer my tanks to be LARGER than my IFVs. If the IFV is bigger than the tank, it just encourages the players to treat them as TANKS, and be nothing but disappointed when they fail in a head-to head.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).

The Leman Russ is taller and has a big gun on it.. What's more tank-like?
