This isn't a painted model but someday it might be and it seems like the best place to put it without opening a new thread.

These are $6 Tehnolog kits. Yes, $6 each. Any of the variants above can be built from the same kit, obviously with dozens of other permutations. I don't know much about Warpath but I imagine they could be good proxies. Or just terrain in Deadzone, or a new unit for the Novas Vira.

Damn, I gotta get me some of them! Detail looks a bit soft, but prime and paint and those could look great!

Now to see if I can get them over here...

Did you order those from the seller in the link? The price is very good, but I'm wary considering they also have what look like 40k recasts.

I think the details looking soft is probably the glare from the lighting in the pic.

Ok, after having them sit in the box for the last year I finally decided to make a start on the Enforcers... To be honest I'm not to happy with this guy, the detail in the casting was a bit poor and there were far to many mould lines to clean up so I didn't even bother making a start.

I was really looking forward to painting this faction, now I'm dreading it

Hopefully the regular Enforcers will be a better quality.

You might not want to clean up all the mold lines, but the huge one across his back you might want to take care of...

yeah I should have but I'm eager to get the rest of the Enforcers finished so I can start on the other models that I've been neglecting to finish... Far too much plastic to paint at the moment and not enough time

Those tanks are crazy cheap, are they made of radioactive lead?

So they come from a site that makes recasts? But the tanks themselves do not appear to be recasts so that particular kit should be obtainable guilt-free?

I'm curious I may just about have to order one.

They don't look like recasts. I did some digging, and found the company that produces them did the originals of the terrain now owned and made by Urban War, and also used to make Robogear. Should be guilt free buying, and the seller has good feedback.

The fact that I'm seeing interchangeable Chimera, Hellhound, Manticore and basically anything on a Chimera hull in kit for a fiver shipped is just awesome! I think I'll grab one, and if it's as good as it looks, I can certainly make use of another half a dozen...

). I can appreciate how frustrating it must have been to clean him up though.

The Asterians have become my favorite faction to paint by far. Started yesterday and already finished excluding basing (to be finished tomorrow). Got to have a lot of fun with inks and metallics. Building a light box tonight, so good pictures to come tomorrow evening once basing is complete.

Base coat of Army Painter Gunmetal, followed by a black ink wash, followed by a wash of a Vallejo Game ink color (except for weapons). Heavy dry brush 2/3 Army Painter Plate Mail 1/3 Ink, followed by light dry brush 4/5 Army Painter Shining Silver 1/5 Ink. Picked out a few details here and there, mainly in Army Painter Dragon Red. Rifle Troopers just black ink, Melee in Blue, Specialists in Yellow, Black Talon in Green, Leader in Red and Vehicles in Purple.

Awesome stuff! I'm getting a Halo vibe from the purple vehicles as well!

On a side note, I've just ordered one of those tanks from the link above, I'll post a review somewehere on here when it arrives in a couple of weeks. If it's as good as it looks, I can see a ton of potential uses for it.

Some more nice stuff popping up now, Love the red on that strider, very deep dark and menacing.

Nice metallic finish on the Asterians too Triple9. I was thinking of going metallic myself but I kind of have my heart set on Gold and turquoise/blue forge fathers so I may have to go with a standard colour pallet for the Asterians so they don't look similar.

Oh and as a side note I've been playing around with some scenery ideas and have started a little side project to be used either with the regular Deadzone play mat or custom boards:

Ughhh don't even get me started on DZ scenery. I've hit a bit of creator's block there. If anyone has any suggestions though I'd appreciate some help!

Hey AOV what sort of suggestions are you looking for, just general colour or finish? Ive seen quite a few good ideas popping up but it all depends on how you want your Deadzone to feel?

Err. suitable for both 40K and Deadzone actually lol.

hmmm, well if it is going to be used for 40K iw ould think structures like this would be commonly found with the imperial guard so perhaps paint them with a lot of exposed metal, a little gold and brass and the main bulk of the buildings do in either a green, beige/brown or grey?

Thanks for the positive feedback folks. Created a Lightbox and still trying to figure out the best lighting, but pictures from my phone are 1000 times better than what I'd been taking. Leader looks much better in person. Colors got a little funky in the pic. Standard disclamer about not removing mold lines on Restic applies.

Pics looking loads better there Triple9. Really getting a Halo Covenant vibe from them. I didn't quite realise how tall and beefy the Black Talon is (mine is still in the Deadzone pile o shame.)
