They still need a bit of a trim, but otherwise I think they work much better than the default Mantic flight stands.

The marauder on the left and the mawbeast in the back are new.

Would have gotten more photos but the sun is already sinking.

To add to the Shadowlaw themed Marauders, I have a Blanka themed maw beast

I like the way my marauder scheme looks but it's kind of irritating painting the black trim around all of the red as touchups are a bear. After I get the team of 10 done, I think any future marauders will get more of an army camo with grey or leather pouches and kit.

I like the brown Orx. Good job breaking out of the greenskin mold.

Now showing mutants and dungeon-crawl heroes!

Painting total as of 3 July 2025: 79 plus a Deva King statue

Painting total as of 12/31/2024: 107 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain and two walkers and a quad mech and five giants

Hey look more stuff!

The left three are from Mars Attacks, but the three on the right are deadzone zombies! A scientist/hazmat, civilian, and soldier zombie. Really simple paintjobs all around but they were quick and get the job done. I had a fair amount of fun painting the zombies, they've got enough detail without being overwhelming.

Ha! I'm the same way, Painting shouldn't feel like a chore. That orx skin tone is awesome, does the Captain have red iris's and black eyes?

And since I'm here...

Thanks guys

@TTW It's Natalya from the Novas Vira from Mars Attacks. She'll probably come bundled with the set of them. I'd offer to trade you one of my spares but they both kind of got flattened/broken ankle in the shipping process and I don't like to deal in inferior goods =/

@NobodyXY Hah, the picture does make him look like he has glowy red eyes! But no, he just has big black dots and you can't see the white properly in the picture.

Also, nice Captain yourself. The asterian casualty is pretty cool too. And those Veermyn, very gritty, quite appropriate! Good work all round

Here is my first assembled plastic enforcer. I'll be doing him side by side with a restic enforcer in my painting blog, for those who are interested.

Bad angle for the plastic one, but I really like the plastic over the resin.

Finished the test model for my new Enforcers scheme, I'm quite liking it overal:

Had to bring out some zombies for him to battle The other gun (ball joint magnets ftw) option can be seen on the last update of my P&M blog if interested. Fairly quick to paint, and I think they'll be pretty striking assembled as a team. Just need to get some more made and painted.

So, I did this originally for something else but I happened to make the size 1x1', just in case. If I could figure out something to do for the grid... how do you guys think this would serve as the first of 4 (or maybe 5 to have an extra) sections to a modular 2x2' deadzone board?

It's fairly atmospheric, plus lots of foliage to block total LoS regardless of what you count as cover. The standing room is somewhat limited, although you do have an entire cube at a time to work with while positioning. The bridge is diagonal to the sides which makes it sit kind of weird in terms of cubes as well.

I think it looks awesome, and that could certainly make for a fun game, but the playability is somewhat in question, and I'm still not sure what the best way to grid it up might be.. Maybe superglue some kind of thread down, black or maybe like a bright yellow? Check off corners with a marker?

Now that this idea is in my noggin, if I made more pieces I would try to square them up a bit (but not too much) to better fit in with the DZ/MA cube system. And obviously I plan to work some DZ terrain into the rest of the pieces, a watchtower is likely, but maybe a building or two as well.

But as for playability, and getting a grid onto terrain like this... any thoughts or suggestions?

It's doable. Depending on what the hill is made from, it could be as simple as putting in some pins (preferable with brightly coloured heads) to denote corners, which can then be removed for other uses, rather than having something permanent.

It's made of uhh... the crumpled pages of a smokey mountain knife catalog, bit of masking tape, then covered in plaster cloth, some spackle/plaster fixer (for holes in the wall from nails or whatever), then paint, stain, glue etc. Some sealer on top two or three times trying to hold it all together. I'm a bit concerned about putting holes in it as the spackle on top may chip away eventually, especially if I expose it's integrity. But then anything else is likely permanent (making it less viable for pulp alley games probably. Hmm.

Here is a new Enforcer team, 100% converted. You'll notice a few obvious references in the names and colour schemes.

First up, Enforcer Sergeant John Sierra, armed with a pistol and combat blade and with a sculpted full-mask helmet.

Next, Sniper Clint Lawton, with a modified Rifle featuring full scope and silencer, and an alternate backpack (taken from a Corporation Ranger)

Pathfinder Rex Cody, converted from a Ranger:

Pathfinder Loke, converted from Corpration Ranger, Trooper and Heavy Weapon parts and a stolen SM Auspex:

Enforcer Defender Stephane Rogers, with a home made energy shield and stolen SM Shotgun. The head is from a DE Wyche:

Assault Pathfinder Burnes, kitbashed from Ranger and Enforcer parts:

Gunnery Officer Rhodes, with firepower made of all kinds of gubbinz:

Assualt Enforcer Jolanda Saphbridge, alien weapons specialist:

And Councilman Renton-Thornes, one of the Council of 7 and attached to this Enforcer unit for te duration of Operation: Wolfhound. He could souble as an Inquisitor, but I figure is suitably ostentatious for a Corporation CEO of the Manticverse:

Group Shots:

And I also repainted some Plague last night, so here they are in all their gribbly glory:

Yes, Sir, we are reading life signs..."

Pretty awesome all around. Don't think I get all of the references but a couple at least. The plague are definitely dirty/bloody enough. Great work!

Cheers!

I doubt anyone will get more than about half, some are so obscure/convoluted that they make sense to me but that's about it! The two Marvel-related ones should be easy enough, as should the councilman, but the rest might make no sense at all outside my own head.

Spoiler:
I got John 117, Deadshot, Loki,Captain America, War Machine and Ronnie Renton pass on the others though

Liking how those Plague came out. I still need to finish mine. The Stage 2s are in the process of new mutations as I didn't really like the heads or the hands.

I'm going to give you 4.5 points there.

Spoiler:

John, Cap, War Machine and Ronnie are correct, Deadshot is half-right (Clint is from Hawkeye-Clint Barton) and Loki/Loke is just coincedence I'm afraid.

Pretty good, though! Better than half, and I thought one of those (the one you got half points on) was a little too obscure for most. Some more coming tomorrow, at least 3 of which are themed... I just can't seem to stop building these guys, Restic be damned!

Yeah, you've kind of got the monopoly on Marvel-themed Deadzone (I'm still waiting to see your GotG Rebs so I can beg/borrow/steal the ideas) The next lot are non-Marvel, in fact you could almost say they are the opposite....
