You shouldn't be suspicious of sensualist documentaries. You should just watch them with the curtains drawn and some tissues nearby.

Also I'm not really in favor of keeping dolphins and whales or any higher thinking mammal for that matter in captivity. With all the wonderful advances in technology you can observe them in their natural habitat on any number of nature shows.

I've heard this is pretty good, and shines a light on an industry that is starting to looking quite anachronistic.

I have intentionally not watched this because I am sure it's depressing as hell. I already think Orcas or indeed any whales should not be kept in captivity, so mission accomplished if that's what the gist is.

You should try The Cove from 2009 if lighter fare is what you seek.

I saw "The Cove" Is it bad that I have no problem with hunter whales and dolphins? The Coves Tries to say it was never tradition in japan by interviews, but it mainly interviews people in the inland cities, who do not know about it. Its like trying to ban croc hunting, coming to me and interviwing and me saying "It isnt tradition" Because I dont live near a place that has that tradition it isnt to me.

This was shown on BBC4 a few weeks ago and I found it particularly interesting. Somewhat upsetting at points and completely jaw dropping at the barefaced lies that Seaworld tell. I'd recommend everybody watch this. Wouldn't call it sensastionalist though,

I think the fact that people would hunt and kill some of the most intelligent and social animals on the planet, compared to ourselves, and not think of it as barbaric isn't surprising. Just because something is a tradition, doesn't make it right or immune to being changed.
