I know the company folded, but what the??? I cant find one fan site out there...

So I have the first box set that has collected a bit to much dust over the past few years. And after looking at it again thought I would get some more units to play with. With Ebay, some shops online and a little time, it looks like I could do it. However...I cant find any complete lists for the miniatures line.

Does anyone know of or have a list?

Did they make miniatures for all the units in the first four army books?

Did the miniatures for the last two armies Oni/Cogs get made?

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

You can pick up .pdfs, Rackham produced them themselves towards the end so you have no UIP infringement worries about asking for downloads. Check the usual sites.

biotronik wrote:

Almost, but some stuff was very hard to get hold of even when Rackham was still going. Steel warrior attachments for example.
The transport vehicles were never made, most players made their own, you could have anything else from the initial four races.
The minatures are nice, it's a pity the game didn't last.

biotronik wrote:

No. Cogs are missing key units but could be completed by converting other Cog sets. Oni lists have huge gaps in them, most were never released. Pity as the faction was very popular and could have saved the game.

ok, you want help......

If you haven't got an existing collection or get a chance to buy one as one lot dont bother getting into AT-43, it will cost a lot of time and money to get in and you will likely never complete an army to satisfacation except for Space Monkeys which no one wanted. Then you wont find any players so you will need to source several armies and host.

If you want PPP Rackham gaming you can still get most stuff for Confrontation which is the fantasy variant. Best shop to buy from is Ludik Bazar (in France) or Miniatures Market (in the US). If you are careful and smart you can get a Wolf and Griffin armies at near 100% completion (some special characrter never released), and a fair amount of Scorpion and Lion (some units missing). The games are better than given creidt for are cheap to buy at the right places and you can also get free and megal .pdf for everything at your friendly neighbourhood torrent site.

My advice would be to constantly troll eBay and be very patient. There are still deals to be had. For example, I picked up a Red Blok Army Box for $65 a couple weeks ago and someone else was pretty much giving away Assault Golems and Assault Medusas the last couple weeks.

Given that you have Operation Damocles, focus on the Therians and UNA. You'll have trouble finding some units like Grim Golems and Wing Troopers, but a lot of the core units and vehicles are still pretty cheap and easy to come by.

Pick up enough Space Monkeys and Cogs to add some variety. Cogs army boxes can be had for pretty cheap. Unfortunately, not as cheap as 3 or 4 months ago.

How similar are AT-43 and Dust in terms of rules, etc? And are there lists to use the AT-43 armies/units in Dust Warfare?

I had forgotten all about AT-43. I sure did love their Therian line. I came up with an entire new race for 40K based on those models. A pretty cool history that I worked into the background for not just the Sector our games take place in, but also some of the back stories of the characters in our Dark Heresy campaign.

*goes on eBay just to see what's there*

5 mins later.

*buys entire Therian range*

Damn it!

Given that AT-43 was the herald of the end of Rackham and therefore Confrontation, I'm not surprised!

“Good people are quick to help others in need, without hesitation or requiring proof the need is genuine. The wicked will believe they are fighting for good, but when others are in need they’ll be reluctant to help, withholding compassion until they see proof of that need. And yet Evil is quick to condemn, vilify and attack. For Evil, proof isn’t needed to bring harm, only hatred and a belief in the cause.”

This site http://twc-dust-tactics.blogspot.com/p/dust-cards.html has a few of the Red-Blok walkers statted up. I would love to see somebody with more time and gaming opponents stat up more of the AT43 stuff. Personally, I love the Karmans (space monkeys) and Cogs (aliens) so it has been pretty easy to get a large number of models for dirt cheap.

Hmm... where on earth would I find Assault Goliaths, Bane Goliaths, Succubus Golgoths and Atis Astarte? They are proving to be quite elusive.

Succubus Golgoths almost never come up on eBay and when they do they are either pretty expensive or busted. I have yet to see one with the box in a year and a half of looking and so is the last Therian unit I'm looking to add to my collection. they tend to sell for around $40 for just the model/cards when they come up.
Atis Astarte comes up every couple of months and also tends to be pretty expensive. Think I paid $35 about 6 months ago.
Bane and Assault Goliaths come up every few week, but prices are all over the place. They can usually be found for around $20 plus/minus $5.

There are always some people who think they own gold, so if you're willing to pay $50 or $60 for units, there are usually Bane and/or Assault Goliaths that have been listed for a long time.

H, you can still make good for Therians will core boxsets and conversions. You can get away with one box each of Goliaths and rely instead on golems and assorted medium Golgoths.

Atis can be converted up from a Callidus plus golem bits.

Wraith Golgoth x2 (1 black, 1 red)
Hekat Golgoth x2

What are you going to do with all that, HBMC? Play AT-43, or use it for something else?

Edit: Looking at your above post, I think you were implying you'd use them as a custom force for 40k, but just curious

Kinda. In the homebrew setting I created that we've been using for our 40K games/campaigns and our Dark Heresy campaign I invented a race called the Kyarie (Kee-air-ee). I always pictured them as an aggressive expansionist race with advanced technology and super-augmented soldiers, augmented to the point where the original race basically doesn’t exist anymore as they’ve modified themselves so much over the centuries. I saw the Therian models and thought they fit the bill quite well, and then saw in their background that they’re crazy post-humans and basically fit with what I wanted.

I’ve always wanted to get some, and I found a store on eBay selling most of them, so I got them.

Thank you everyone. This community is great!

Looks like I have a few things to think about. My cousins and I play a lot of games together so finding opponents wont be an issue. I think monitoring Ebay and being patient I think I will try it out. I have the books and love the rich history.

Thanks again everyone.

I would make the additional suggestion of visiting Gaming conventions looking for closeouts and such. There were a few sellers getting rid of big piles of the stuff at Little Wars last year and it wasn't moving fast even at a discount. I bought 6 boxes for about 5-8 bucks each just to get the cargo containers. I later sold the units themselves. I don't play or collect AT43, but I have a bunch of the Karman Flyers that I've put aside for a future Dieselpunk project I'd like to do someday.

Good to hear that you have an opponent because I haven't heard of anyone playing AT-43 in years. For folks who like the minis, my advice is to also consider an alternate generic ruleset like Tomorrow's War or No Limits or Gruntz.

Do any of you have local shops still closing out AT-43???

Maybe I can call them and make some purchases that way.

Thanks again to the community...wow!

Triple9 -

I picked up 6 boxes of Assault Golems on Ebay for $33.14 shipped! Granted Therin seem to be some of the cheaper units. Still a good purchase though.

Yeah, that person had cases (24 count) of assault golems and assault medusas for $100 at first. They weren't selling, so they started parting them out. I ended up grabbing a box of assault golems for $8.00 shipped.

I love reading about still interested and/or playing AT-43. After all this time, it is still one of my favorite games. I have been pretty fortunate with everyone in my gaming group owning at least one army, and still playing games on a monthly basis.

I really loved AT-43, got in when it first came out as the demo box of UNA and Therians. I was a big fan of how the Therians are actually Humans, that was a pretty trippy storyline twist.

I have to say I count myself lucky in getting with the game so soon, because I was able to get my armies built before Rackham started having all the stock problems with the UNA. I think it was really a good example of a game being good despite it's parent company. There really isn't very much about the game system that I don't like.

I have to admit I went a little buyer-crazy when they started going under, and can field 3000+ pt armies of UNA, Therians, Red Blok and Karmans, lol......and the same size armies of the main Confrontation PPP factions, too.

Okay another question. There are two types of boxes available: Unit Boxes and Attachment Boxes. I gather that the Unit Boxes are basic units and the Attachment Boxes are different weapons, units and other equipment that can be in a unit?

So did most of people buy a few Unit Boxes and then get an Attachment Box to add other weapons and such? Although if you wanted a whole unit equipped with a certain weapon that only comes in an Attachment Box....hmmm.

Interestingly, that's essentially the same thing I came up with to fit the Cogs into 40K.

Unit Boxes are the min unit that you field. Unit Attachments boost the Unit Box to the max size, including one each(generally) of the options the unit can be equipped with(Medic/Mechanic/etc. as well as an Officer), filling out the Unit Box special weapon to max amount, and giving you the alternate special weapons: a full complement for Therians, UNA and Red Blok only got the amount for a min unit to swap specials from the Unit Box, requiring you to purchase 3(!) to get a max set of the alternate weapons(which led to the aforementioned notoriously impossible to find Steel Trooper Attachment). Karmans introduced the concept of multiple Unit Attachment boxes, where you purchased one to get the full specials of a certain type as well as an Officer and options. This carried through to the Cogs and re-releases of the UNA Type * troops(even going further and only giving you medics in one box and Engineers in the other rather than the old style one of each).

Well all my Therian stuff showed up. Both the big Golgoth thingies were broken (opposite weapons snapped off), and a few bits had fallen off here and there but overall I'm very happy with them.

The Therians AFV's had a horrible track record even when the game was new. I once had a Hekat Golgoth (the smallest cc-oriented tripods) show up in a pile in it's vacu-formed section of the box. Had to re-glue all the joints of the legs, plus all three connection points to the base.

I still love my evil-humans though. Noting beats a setting where the Humans become the Necrons.

Yeah, hekat Golgoths were the worst. Wing troopers are just as bad, but pretty much every at-43 box ends up with some rattly bits from shipping. It's a shame they never moved to the clamshell design dust uses. I own every dust unit and have never had to use my gluefu skills. At-43 honed mine for sure.
