The main problem with Hekat Striders was the terribly small peg attachment to the base. They were so stupidly small that they sheared off link nobody's business, and only one of the three tows on each foot was pegged to the base in the first place. Trooper hands/weapons were also bad depending on the batch, because they also had pretty small joins.

I have one Hekat that came in perfect condition, and for the one that was in bitz, I actually ended up pinning each "foot" with a tiny nail that went up through the base and into the actual palm of each "foot", and painted them black.

Man, I'm trying to get Epic 40K on the table, and you guys are making me want to bust out AT-43. Because of the sales, I have some pretty big armies for everything but Cogs and ONI.

One of the Hekat's I got arrived in perfect condition. The other had one of the spikes broken (clean break, easy to fix) and one of the claws on one of its feet was missing. Otherwise fine.

Yeah, that sounds like me. I actually only ever saw the breakage problems with one Hekat, and with a ton of the exhaust plumes on my UNA jump troopers- but that was a pretty universal thing. I remember it was so bad that The Warstore actually put a disclaimer on the entry for them on their site!

Everything else always came awesome. The prepaints were not the greatest on troopers, but the vehicles always looked awesome. It was great to throw some chipped paint effects on a model and have it be perfectly done for tabletop quality. And the game is fun to play, too.

I actually really like the pre-paints on the Therian troopers. I didn't think I would, but for what they are they're decent.

Oni were damn close to being fully realized, but Rackham-E went bust (again) while they were shipping Oni to stores so even the released units became very hard to get.

I personally own a huge UNA and Therian army, and my brother has a massive Red Blok and an Oni army (that I got him for Christmas two years ago). We have a couple other local players (Karman, UNA, Cogs, Oni) and we played a big campaign a year or two ago. Great ruleset and great figures.

Here's the massive Oni army I got my bro for xmas
http://s17.photobucket.com/user/judgedoug/library/AT-43?sort=3&page=1

Bokov
Priest
Samedi
12 Virus Zombie Contaminators
12 Virus Zombie Detonators
12 Super Zombie Alpha
6 Super Zombie Beta
13 ONI Korps UN (incl. officer, 2 medics, mechanic, 2 laser guns)
6 ONI Korps TH (incl. officer, medic, sonic gun)
3 Zombie TacArms Alpha
3 Zombie TacArms Gamma
3 Light Enforcers/Destroyers
3 Medium Destroyers/Enforcers
2 Heavy Battle Tanks

I converted and repainted Super Alphas to make Betas (and custom made a mortar gun), I converted 3 TacArm Alphas to Gammas (and custom made mortar guns and repainted them), I made new turret weapons for the Light Enforcers to make swappable Destroyers (using Fire Toad laser cannons), and repainted 12 Detonators as Contaminators.

edit - actually there's 4 Lights in there now as I managed to snag another one for him for like ten bucks somewhere.

I'm a huge fan of the type *** infantry, Assault and Bane Goliaths. And Grim Golems just look badass (and are amazing in-game, especially with a teleporting Atis-Astarte)

Assault and Bane Goliaths

Atis-Astarte

Three things I have been unable to acquire thus far.

I remember that after getting those for my army soon after they were released, they just about immediately became hard to get. Also the Assault Medusas have always been idiotically hard to find. I really wanted to field a full squad (which required a simple conversion of one of the second box's models) but it was too hard.

We'll find out soon enough eh.

I've been trying to get hold of Therian stuff for a year now with no luck - Storm Golems, Assault Medusas, and Bane Goliaths would all be perfect for my Dark Mechanicus, but I've never seen a Bane Goliath, and the prices on Assault Medusas are always ridiculous since you only ever see them from USA sellers, so they end up costing £30+ for four figures(usually secondhand and no box, so you've no idea what the condition is like) once you include shipping. I always get sniped on Storm Golem auctions :/

EDIT: Hah, and just as I posted this on a whim I checked eBay and found Assault Medusas at the eye-watering-but-barely-tolerable price of £3.75 each including shipping. Of course I wanted 5 or 6 and now will get 12, but that one lot of 12 was still cheaper than buying two lots of 4(there's one lot left if anyone wants it).

Storm Golems?

Picked up both of those and 8 Assault Medusas for US$70.

That Therian Army is damn tempting, but other than the Assault Medusas, I have an equal or greater amount of everything included! That is a pretty great deal if you are in the US.

Seriously? People must have just hated them in Colorado then, cause every store that had stuff left after the end always had at least one (if not 2-3) boxes of each Goliath type alongside the ubiquitous Type ** Golgoths and Golem attachments.

I think there's still a store in Boulder that has them gathering dust.

A store you no doubt live close to, so close in fact that it alters your very being, making you into a super kind and generous person willing to help out a fellow Dakkanaut on the other side of the planet, yes?

Sadly, lived(past tense) is now the accurate, as the government sees fit to move us every know and again(I keep telling my wife to go Active Reserves, they get to stay). I should be able to get in touch with friends up there to check on that possibility for you, though.

Yaaaay, finally managed to get hold of some Bane Goliaths...unfortunately doing so necessitated the purchase of a whole Therian army, so if anyone's looking for stuff, I'll soon have several Storm Golem unit boxes, two Wraith Golgoths, and a Baal Golgoth going spare. They're all advertised as being NiB, we'll see when they get here.

Six down, three to go, and my max-Obliterator Dark Mechanicus force is a step closer to completion.

Finally managed to track down some Bane and Assault Goliaths. And Atis Astarte or whatever that character's name is. The Bane Goliaths and the character were in auctions from the same guy, ending within 2 mins of one another. Sniped both of them with 9 seconds to go.
