After searching the internet for a few days, I finally found a valkyrie conversion I like. However, I have concerns about gaming legality and resale value for my valkyrie if I do this. Will I still be able to game in GW tourney's if I do this? Will the resale value be effected negatively? Should I do this if I am making a Vietnam army? I already have a ton of lights soldered on and taped on to the parts, though it isn't assembled. What are your thoughts?

(Picture not mine, and no offense to the creator, I plan to do a much better paint job, here is a link to the thread I am sending this picture from: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/508529.page#5323340)

Resin Printer (minaitures) is a 4K printer with one of the largest build volumes available for a resin printer (192mm x 120mm x 245mm) with an amazing .01mm resolution! This professional printer is one of the best resin printers on the market!

FDM Printer (terrain) also has one of the largest build volumes available for an FDM printer (400mm x 400mm x 450mm) and has an amazing ,05mm build accuracy.

ABout resale value i can't say something for sure, people who like it will buy it, poeple who doesn't like Chopers won't buy it, thats as simple as it can be.

Now for Tourney elligibility.

if you have guys that plays Tau+ IG allies in Tournaments with this as count has Valk;

I don't see why a Choper Valk would be a problem.

After verification WIngs doesn't count for LoS, page 80 about Flyers and distances"... range are mesured From AND To, the Hull of the Flyer..."

So Wingspan have nothing to do with LoS, so there shouldn't be any problem.

"Note that, unlike for other models, a vehicle's wings are not ornarnental and are a part of its hull."

Wings count.

Use chunkyer rotor blade's, put them at 90 degree's with the hull. And count those as the wings....

Tadaa..... No problem.

Even better, have them free rotating.

If having the model would make you happy I would do it and not worry about resale.

Yeah, that is my plan. And I actually just purchased a bunch of parts on ebay to do a seperate one. I didn't save much money, it was $40 for everything I needed, not including the scale model of a huey I need for conversion (which will cost another $30), but Im ganna do it!

Gaming legality depends on where you're intending to use it. Some gamers might have a problem with the narrower profile (although the suggestion to use the rotors in place of the wings is a good one - as an aside, I would go with 4 rotor blades, rather than 2... fits the chunky aesthetic better) while other players won't really care if it looks cool.

If you're looking at competitive play, it's going to come down to the TO... but most are fairly accepting of conversions so long as they are not too abusive.

Resale value is a bit of an odd concern... but ultimately the resale value of any conversion is entirely dependent on your skill at converting and painting. If it's well done, and looks good, people will pay for it. If your modelling skills aren't great, don't expect to be able to resell it for anything huge.
