@Darkcloud

Yeah, it's a rare day when the Monolith is the Man of the Match!

@avedominusnox

Thanks! I am really happy that they came out nicely considering it was literally a box of smashed up bitz when we got them.

And yeah, Steve is a super nice guy.

My kid and I just watched, the terrain looks great! Still bothered by how effective Tau are, but I didnt know how it would swing.

I had really bad dice, and if it went to turn 6 I think I would have had it, but oh well.

Yeah, Tau are one of the easiest armies in the game to win with right now. Great for a new player!

That looked like a really fun game, glad you guys had lots of good terrain and you guys were using units that people normally don't use like the monolith which is always cool to see.

I love it when wacky things happen like the monolith sucking up units into the dimensional rift or whatever. Always good for laughs.

Yeah, I like using "bad" units. It's fun and challenging. Anyone can win with a Taudar list, for example. I have nothing against those lists, I just prefer more of a challenge.

It was a fun game, for sure.

Thanks Steve for being a great tau player! i hate when they complain about LOS blocking terrain. I want to play you some day hopefully

I would sign this contract but I already ate the potato

God how much I hope that all people watched non tourney games like that. Ok its a game and like all games everyone wants to win, but hey smile when you lose. Better have friends than rage for loss and bad luck. And frontline's battle reports are full of fun and laugh. GJ again, on my next trip to the US I ll make sure I ll contact you and come by for a game.

Great Batrep. The Monolith is a much-maligned vehicle, still stuck with a bad rap ever since it lost it's immunity to lance and melta.

In 6th ed books I've seen a noticeable drop in armies' abilities to handle AV14. Whether it's the meta of s7 spam lists, or the reduction of S10 weapons, AV14 is becoming more resilient (from range. MCs still eat it for breakfast). That said, I think a monolith is a great choice for it's S8 ap3 pie, LOS blocking ability (to hide an advancing c'tan, for example), utility (teleport door/vacuum door), and they look really cool.

Good job, you'll get him next time Reece.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

If I were to build necrons right now I'd spring for the Tesseract vault. Its 160 but you can cut out the leeches and use the wraith inside to make 9 destroyers/tomb blades or wraiths with minimal conversion skill, you get a C'tan, and can glue the vault shut and patch the holes with card and you now got a monolith as well. Its a crazy affective way to save some money if you like to kitbash.

3 wraith boxes, a C'tan and a monolith are ~230

Everywhere at once..

Great video! Awesome paint schemes!! Maybe next time show the roles and the actual procedure of the turns so we can see those amazing roles rather then just take your word for it. No disrespect intended.

I am changed . . . an outcast now.

Not a big deal, but pretty sure the troop of crisis suits can rally on natural leadership roll for farsight enclave because the whole army has to take bonding knives.

I think the best unit in this game were the scarabs. By far they did the most damage and held off the Tau firepower

1500pt O'Vesa Star W: 27 D: 2 L: 1
The challenge: in a 1500pt game I will play 900pt + D6x100 pts, if I roll a 6 I reroll and -100 to that second number (down to 1000pt minimum)
W:6 D:0 L:1

"Banter Batreps" are fantastic, but I think they may take more work than this top/bottom of each turn type.

Thanks guys, glad you liked it! It was good fun.

We do a little bit of the banter but we try to keep the videos short and informative if at all possible.

Scarabs rock! I love taking the little Scarab Farm in the backfield, easily my favorite part of the list.

I have actually been thinking about going with 60 Immortals! Haha, just for fun.

Hey Reece, any chance your bud would like to show us how he made his terrain? It's quite excellent.

Hey reecius, since you help organize the las vegas tournament, can you answer this for me.

How are you guys ruling on grav guns shooting at vehicles. No cover save or cover save allowed? It only affects vehicles on a 6 up to begin with. Cover saves would mean for one glance, you need an average of 18 hits.

warhammer 40k mmo. If I can drive an ork trukk into the back of a space marine dread and explode in a fireball of epic, I can die happy!

Reece your opponent is a boss. he may play tau, but he plays the game in the spirit of collegial competition, a very refreshing site. amazing terrain, good looking armies. bad luck with the scarabs but hey what can you do. im wondering how a unit of wraiths might help you in the speed department. thanks for the batrep.

Great report! I love the lesser used Necron stuff. Monoliths are *not* bad at 200 pts.

But! Can't Scarabs not wound Riptides with Str3 vs T7? I was going to use them as a bit of an anti-Riptide tech at a local event but decided against it because I couldn't hurt them unless Zandy put on furious charge for a turn.
