Well, with the new codex with Inquisition, Sisters Of Battle aka Adepta Sororitas had become more and more cheesy.

Myself as a Tyranids player(less than 1year experience newbie) find it hard to go against list with 3 Exorcist which my friend usually bring all 3 without mercy and I normally end up losing.

Would love to get some comment or advise about tactics againt them from everyone here.

Of course this topic won't just stick with 'How Tyranids Take Down Exorcist', although that's what I actually wanted to know.

If you have any way to go against them with your army, please don't mind to share here.

3 Exorcist with D6 Str8 hit, honestly that's pain in the ass as Tyranids doesn't have much Invulnerable saves can made.

OP, with no idea what your list is and in conjunction with your stated lack of experience and belief that Sisters are cheesy, I'm going to go ahead and bet that you just have a terrible, terrible list and need to seriously revise it.

I almost played with all army before, indeed there's much more army that can be define as cheese like CSM with 3 Heldrake or Tau with 3 Riptide and etc.

Likewise, SOB with 3 Exorcist means 3 D6 Str8 AP1hit.

With their range, they often deal massive wounds before my Tyranids is even in range for shooting or charging.

Str8 hit on Toughness 6 is only 2+, my HQ often get killed easily whenever Exorcist is in range, not to mention other units.

Perhaps you veterans don't really feel a thing with all your experience, mind to share how you go against them?

How do you handle Leman Russes or Manticores?

Frankly. No.

I did go against Imperial Guards before but they didnt field it.

Besides Exorcist, SOB have shooting that deal Perils Of The Warp with ever it HITs, although it's just once in a game but it often instant kill my character units.

Okay, since you guys don't think 3 Exorcist is cheese, may i know how you go against it?

It's a 1500pts game by the way, which I didn't mention.

Just in case this is part of the problem... d6 SHOTS not hits. So Flyrants ruin Excorcists, as he lacks enough ranged power to down them and they can wreck his vehicles. Also, we'll have a new book in three weeks?

To all the disbelievers, the new AS codex is a buff, no matter how much it falls short in comparison to books like Eldar. As well, the Repressor went back up to 6 fire points, they've got flyers now, and FW gives them Lords of War, so you never know...

People underestimate SoB too much, even before the update. Even if an army is bottom of the barrel in 40K, the difference between the bottom, middle, and top armies is far smaller than in a game like Street Fighter, where the best Dan players will never beat a decent Chun Li.

It's Str8 AP1, MC unit of Tyranids don't have any invulnerable saves against that.

Which means as long as opponent successfully ground a Flyrant, they pretty much can get Slain The Warlord easily.

Not to mention shooting weapon range of SOB is quite long compare with Tyranids.

So I often got heavy casualties before get in range to shoot or charge, whenever opponent focus with rapid fire and etc.

We aren't claiming Sisters are useless. We are claiming that they're nowhere near the top of the heap, and given what other books do, I don't think that's really up for debate. I dare say Tyranid MCs fear Gravstars or O'vesa stars rather more than they do Exorcists.

Against a non-flying MC that isn't being stupid, 3 Exorcists shouldn't cause more than a couple wounds a turn between having access to either Iron Arm or Feel No Pain, and always making sure to keep touching area terrain for a free cover save. If it *is* flying, well. If you are doing none of these things, there's mistake number 1.

Unless the Exorcists are tightly clumped , it should be easy enough to get side armor on one with a flyrant while staying covered against the others. If they *are* clumped together, then he isn't controlling all the fire lanes.

At 1500 two flyrants should be able to apply more than enough pressure to suppress three exorcists.

Also, check the most recent version of Codex: AS. The Condemnor was updated to require the psyker to take an unsaved wound to get psi-shocked.

Sadly I can't find any source to prove that and it's kinda impossible to purposely buy the codex just to show him that.

As has been said, it would help if you wrote your list here and included all models you can utilize. Also advice to hug any cover was given. That is your best friend as a tyranid.

He insist that it's not up-to-date as he never seen any source online other than forum.

Guess it's hard to convince him without actual screenshot from the updated codex.

Wait, doesn't your AS opponent have access to the new codex? If they downloaded it from BL, they just need to download it again to see the update. If iTunes, it should update automatically.

Of course, they may've pirated it when it came out, and are just seeing an older version. If so, they really should purchase said codex, if possible. The Orders Militant always appreciates donations.

Oh, and it sure is nice change of pace to see the Sister referred to as cheesy!

Sadly, doing so is against the forum rules. Just tell him you refuse to play him until he shows you that he's using the most recent version of the codex by showing you the file creation date then turning to the page about the condemnor.

Well, perhaps he think I'm not good enough to prove him wrong.

So anyone mind to share some tactics on going against SOB?

As a Tyranid player, it should be quite easy. Flying Tyrants, Tervigons....fill the rest as necessary from your bugs. Sisters really aren't strong enough to deal with 80% of lists built with dedicated purpose in mind.

Remember your Intervening Units save. My Devs and other heavy weapons rarely ever get clean shots at the local big bugs, and they are similar to what you're seeing...

Absurd cover saves are your friend. Dirty bug.
