Ignore the fact that 40k and Fantasy now take place in entirely separate universes, and discuss/answer can the Salamanders exterminate the Skaven?

Scenario 1: the Salamanders Legion at the height of its strength during the Great Crusade (naturally led by Vulkan himself) undertakes the challenge.

Scenario 2: the Salamanders Chapter at full strength handles the task at hand.

Here's a simple question to ask in anything. Does one faction have spacecraft with orbital bombardment capabilities while the other lacks anything capable of harming spacecraft? If both answers are yes, the faction with orbital assets will win.

The real question is, why, in order to get to the Capital of Naboo, did they have to travel through the planet core?

You would never be able to exterminate the Skaven....they are to numerous, have to many ingenious and destructive weapons and have magic that can turn anything into clanrats and wither away at anything.

Also when I say they are to numerous it says that in the army book/codex but also in a purely game sense they could have nearly 1000 skaven slaves in a 2000 point game....thats right and just take a 15 point engineer hahaha

Even with the salamanders orbital bombardment capabilities they live in giant caverns dug out by millions or rats and spread over the entire world without ever coming to the surface they would still survive.

The Salamanders fleet should be capable of simply blowing up the planet/cracking it and blowing off its atmosphere. From the death of Nostramo by the Night Lords, we know that you don't need cyclonic torpedoes to blow up a planet. Just a lot of lancers.

Blowing up an entire planet from space to obliterate a race of rat things so you don't have to face them = bitchin out

Just joking haha

Yeah i dont really get this. Am i missing something? Medieval ratpeople versus intergalactic superwarriors with firepower enough to level solar systems. Maybe if you did some scenario where a company was magically whisked back to ye old whfb world and had to face the whole skaven race with a hundred dudes?

If the Skaven had moved, with Mankind, from the era of Fantasy to the era of 40K (stick with me, here)... they, like the common rat, would be found in almost every environment that Mankind is found in. It would be impossible to eradicate the Skaven without also eradicating Mankind.

There are rats in the walls of Terra...

No they can't. One of those wacky Skaven engineers has invented a salamander repellent. It is super effective!

Except they aren't ratty and don't make warp-fire throwers.

They don't have too look the same to fill the same niche. Not to mention the Hrud are a bit better than the Skaven, with it being nigh impossible to study Hrud.

If it's not ratty, doesn't talk about the "man-man things" and doesn't shoot warp-fire or throw plague-bombs at people, then it's not Skaveny.

One (1) Marine is sent back in time with his bolter and 6 mags.

He is free to use what ever means to remove the Skaven (ally with Empire, build a vortex grenade from manure, sticks and oil etc..)

Moles don't carry flamethrowers that can cause your body armor to sprout tentacles and strangle you.

Hmm.

I'd have to say the Skaven.

Small aquatic lizards are not known for their ability to combat large numbers of technologically active bipeds.
