I like the different artillery shells idea. Also, more artillery! I like the Basilisk, but it'd be nice to some other field guns, maybe something akin to the British Quick Firing guns from the Great War, or Hell, pick any field gun from that time and Imperium it up.
A Gatling was mentioned, that'd be cool. A bit like a Hotchkiss rotary cannon on a gun carriage.

I'd like to see the ability to modifiy the weapons themselves aswell. Underbarrel grenade launcers, Different types of ammunitions, scopes, barrels and even vertical grips. Giving the ability to optimise your squad's basic weaponry for different combat encounters.

That would be incredible for kill team but for an army like IG that has so many people it would get way to complicated way to quick.

If it was available for Vets, stormtroopers and CCS then It would be allright, but a bit much for every single blob squad.

Regarding the last point, rough riders get grenades and grenade launchers, so I'm not sure what you want to make different.
I think (well this is what i mean) what everyone wants is a one man portable antitank rifle for taking out light and medium ish vehicles or hurting back armour.
So you want a funny looking plasma gun?  Given the limited range of possible weapon statistics and the wide range of weapons available to the Guard, you can get pretty much anything through conversion and counts-as.

Just had a massive derp moment about my suggestion for a laser machine gun.
The answer is obvious, and it is ridiculous that it isn't readily available in heavy weapon teams, guard should be able to take multilasers, and they should be very cheap.

I think the laser mg idea is more about having a cheap squad based weapon (a SAW), like a high rof lasgun, not necessarily another heavy weapon.
Not that multilasers on HWTs wouldnt be welcomed.
I'd much rather GW just fixed the damn HB and make it not such a wothless hunk of trash.

I disagree on your opinion on the Heavy Bolter, McGibs, but then again I play Xenos and while the Heavy Bolter is poor against MEQ or harder, it's certainly not bad against Xenos (and surprisingly cost efficient per gun against TEQ). What you need isn't better HB, it's MORE HB! At least 2 per vehicle in a squadron for dirt cheap and I think you'd start appreciating them

It's not quite their technology, and if they did get a dirt-cheap lance weapon it would still be mounted on the same fire platforms as the Lascannon. Expect the Lascannons to come a bit cheaper in the future, though. If the Eldar codex and Bright Lances are anything to go by, and I think they are, then upgrading an empty/light weapons mount to Lascannon would probably be 10 points (i.e. about 5 points from Heavy Bolter to Lascannon).

I hope that our heavy stubber/multi-laser keeps the AP6 value instead of having the 'new' AP- form the BRB.
Also, Sgts beinga ble to use two-handed weapons again, like having a lasgun or a boltgun. Even officers can have a botlgun, why not a Sgt? At least they'll be able to actually fire at things instead of being just a Ld boost.

You could always get a Wall of Martyrs, that seems to fit the bill pretty well.
It is also from expansions which no one here allows to be played , because of D weapons and void shield bunkers. I want the rules in my codex , so no one can say no when playing against me .
Squad weapon multi lasers would be awesome .

Sorry about your terrible gaming group, where I play we all Escalation, Forgeworld and Stronghold Assault without question.
Agreed on the multilasers, I was really hoping for them in the last codex.
edit: I also wouldn't mind a faction specific fortification, even if most of the Wall of Martyrs stuff seems pretty much custom built for IG, like the wall section with three spots for heavy weapons on big bases.

I'd like special ammo for Russes/arty. Beasthunter sheels anyone?

So far I have not been Disapointed.
I know what I would like to see, but I know what to expet too, so usaly I look at any new Codex with a lower expectation and then I get pleasantly supprized.
