Hey, guys... I'm currently trying to finish my bloodthirster, that ugly-ass metal miniature and just realized that the big tomato-juice addict has braided hair or dreads or a combination thereof. Now, I have one question, and one question alone: Who in the name of all Chaos undivided is braiding the fur of a greater demon of khorne and how to get the demon to sit still long enough in the first place to NOT behead the barber doing this?

I guess bloodthirsters must have an effeminate side.

No idea if it's true, but I've been told that dreadlocks form naturally in longer hair if you don't clean or brush it, so in that case it may be more the Bloodthirster not giving a crap than the other way round.

I get my hair braided often (laypeople refer to them as cornrows), and if there's one thing that one must endure while having them done, is pain. Perhaps the beasts of chaos enjoy the 2 hour sit down, it appeals to their sado-masochistic natures.

I guess Bloodthirsters moonlight as reggae artists in their free time.

As has been said, hair naturally sort of dreadlocks if left to its own devices.

Also, the vikings braided their hair. Vikings = Manly, therefore braiding your hair is manly.

Greater daemons are created by khorne, we can only assume that when Khorne creates his bloodthirsters he does so adding braids.

So did the Spartans.

Samurai were into special haircuts too..

Ditto the chinese IIRC..

Mongols did.

A fair few of the more badass native tribes did too i think, or other high-maintenance hair ...

Braids or other hairdressing =/= Effeminate.

Braiding hair is actually a common practice for warrior cultures, because the braids actually can cushion the impact of a blow to the head.

Let's be honest, of your taking a blow to the head in that situation, your probably dead.

That's because said warriors probably were intelligent and thus war helmets. Normally, you'd simply have iron/steel/whatever smashing into the back of your skull as it absorbed the blow of an axe, however with a cushion of braids coiled to cover your head and neck, they cushion against the force of your helmet being forcibly smashed into your skull/neck.

Makes sense... I would still maintain my original statement however but to a lesser degree. You take a blow to your head while wearing a helmet, sure you probably won't die from the actual blow unless you are unlucky but you would almost certainly be knocked to the floor or become extremely disorientated and therefore easy prey in a melee that would undoubtedly be very fierce.

Bloodthirsters are probably able to withstand a head blow significantly better than most things, anyways.

Yes, but it prevents you from suffering a more severe concussion that could result in death. They didn't really have padding in helmets similar to the quality of bicycle helmets in the modern day to absorb and distribute shock, you made do with what you had available.

Not that I care, but the point of a signature is to do what you're doing at the end of every post just because. You are essentially posting your 'reference' in duplicate every time.

on the forum. Obviously

Because deep down, all Khornate demons want to be like the Predator. He's basically Khorne's favorite alien warrior.

Where do you think Khorne's obsession of skulls came from? He was watching Predator one night, saw him harvesting a skull and was like "dude, that's pretty fething metal. I wanna do that"

Ever read a book where the author describes some beast as having "matted, tangled fur"?

Those are dreadlocks on wild animals. Human (or human-like) hair will turn to dreadlocks on its own if you don't brush it. Want to grow your own dreads? Wash and towel-dry your hair, but don't ever comb or brush it. In a few months, you'll have natty dreads.

It is best to be a pessimist. You are usually right and, when you're wrong, you're pleasantly surprised.
