They pretty much told you Fury was showing up in all the commercials and previews for the episode as well. Hell, I'd have assumed he'd be in it anyways.

I managed to avoid all of those, so it was a surprise when he did turn up. But you do have a point, I imagine most would have seen the previews/rumours, I was just intent to avoid spoilers for the end of the series.

The season finale of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D left a lot more questions than answers. We still don’t know who or what the blue alien was. What Agent Phil Coulson will now do as the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. and what their new direction will be. Also, what exactly was Coulson writing on the wall. And what’s up with Patton Oswalt.

If you want to rewatch the first season, you’ll get the chance as the series comes to Blu-ray and DVD on September 9th, the same day as Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

And now we know that the second season kicks off on ABC on Tuesday, September 23 at 9 p.m. ET/PT, the network announced today.

Why on earth has it taken so long to release Cap 2 on Blu-Ray?

It came out in late March didn't it? That's less than 6 months from cinema release to DVD release, which is fairly standard.

Pretty cool, and the blue glow against the sepia effect is nice. Almost suggests AC will be taking a darker tone than AOS (I hope it does, it would fit the setting better).

Also, is that Ward still in the background on the AOS side? Interesting...

Hah! They moved "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." back an hour...three weeks before "The Flash" premieres.

It's a nice picture, but it also highlights one thing: AoS has a cast. AC does not.

Well Brand was created by Whedon if I remember correctly, so I imagine he's quite fond of her, though jumping from where they were with "there is no shield, you need to rebuild it" to there being another peace keeping organisation that only works in space is a bit of a stretch.

Deputy Director Roger Hooley is a hardworking, principled older man and Peggy’s boss. As you might expect, he’s bothered by ongoing problems in his personal life as well as the challenges of his day job.

Agent Jack Thompson is in his 30s, handsome and damn well knows it. The polar opposite of Dooley, he doesn’t take kindly to women in the workplace, nor how little recognition he gets. Worse, he wants Dooley’s job and is desperate to prove himself.

Edward Hutchins is a highly professional agent with an unusual problem; duplicity. He’s lying to his wife about what he does to stop her worrying. True Lies, SHIELD style.

Daniel Sousa is everything Jack Thompson wants to be. He’s a war hero who walks using a leg brace, but finds dealing with office politics to be harder than working around his injury. Sousa is also a fiercely honourable, gentle man and we’re betting he becomes one of Peggy’s major allies.

And outside of the agency, there’s Angie Martinelli. Working as an automat waitress, Angie dreams of being a singer. She’s a tough, compassionate young woman who is smart and loyal and seems set to be Peggy’s anchor to the world away from SHIELD.

Coming out of the Marvel Comic-Con panel was the announcement of a few new characters to Agents of SHIELD. All are pretty major.

Lucy Lawless is now confirmed to be playing SHIELD agent Isabelle Hardley. Nick Blood is playing Lance Hunter, who is a mercenary in this iteration. And Dollhouse alum Reed Diamond will play this season's big bad Daniel Whitehall.

The big news came courtesy of a video with Patton Oswalt in character as Agent Koenig, who hinted that Mockingbird was going to be around to help out new Director Coulson.

No, but I wouldn't rule out a one-off like Fury had in the last episode.

Depends on their attitude. Renner was down on Hawkeye's role in Avengers (not without validity, mind you) and I have a sneaking suspicion that he'll be the one to bite the big one in this upcoming film. Jackson on the other hand loves playing Fury.
