Title says it all. Going to write up a review as we go.

Special Rules:

Instinctive Behaviour
Units outside friendly synapse take a leadership test unless they are: engaged in combat, falling back, gone to ground, or arrived from reserve. If failed roll on the appropriate table:

Lurk
1-3 unit falls back
4-5 not effected by difficult terrain, can run, but can only shoot if in area or building, cannot assault
6 same as 4-5 result but has stealth

Hunt
1-3 Immediately goes to ground, units with at least one fearless treat as 4-5 result
4-5 cannot run, must shoot nearest enemy within LOS and range, if no target they do nothing, cannot assault
6 Same as 4-5 but gain preferred enemy

Feed
1-3 immediately suffers a number of hits equal to the number of models in the unit at majority S and ap -, no cover saves, can do nothing until end of its turn, single model units treat it as 4-5 result
4-5 Cannot shoot or run, if it can declare a charge it must against the closest enemy unit. If no target it does nothing
6 Same as 4-5 but gains rage

Synapse
Fearless and auto regroup to all units within 12"

Shadow in the warp
enemy psykers, psychic pilots and brotherhood of psykers within 12" suffer -3 to their Ld (not just psychic tests)

Warlord traits
1: 1 wood, jungle or forest within 12" of the warlord is a carnivorous jungle
2: warlord and all friendly models from nid dex within 12" have night vision
3: Synapse range is 18"
4: Gains 2 VP for each IC killed in a challenge by your warlord, sweeping advance doesn't count
5:after deployment but before infiltrate and scout nominate one piece of terrain in the enemy deployment (can be their own forts) cover is reduced by 1 (min 6+)
6: If warlord suffers a wound it gains FNP for all wounds after

Psychic powers
Primaris: Dominion, +6" to synapse
1. Catalyst, blessing, targets pyskers unit and one unit within 12", FNP
2. The horror, malediction, range 24" Pin test at -2
3. Onslaught, blessing, range 24", can run then shoot
4.Paroxysm, malediction, range 24" roll a D3 and apply deduction to both Ws and Bs to target unit.
5. Psychic scream, Nova, range 6", 2D6+2 minus enemy units Ld, no armour or cover
6. Warp blast WC2 (only one that is WC2) witch fire, range 24" S5 ap3 assault 1 blast, or range 18" S10 ap2 assault 1 lance.

FORCES OF THE HIVE MIND

Hive Tyrant
-Generates powers from the powers of the hive mind table (so no biomancy)
-ML2
-Ws8 Bs4 the rest is the same I believe.
- Hive commander lets one unit outflank
- Indescribable Horror, units taking fear tests roll 3D6 discarding the lowest (good thing half the armies are fearless or are space marines...)
- Old Adversary, Rerolls 1s in combat
- 2 sets of talons standard

Warriors, Shrikes and Prime
- Very Bulky (making bunkerpult less effective)
- Primes Alpha warrior is the same, use his Ws and Bs
- Talons and devourers standard

Gaunts
- Termagants, fleshborer standard, move through cover, lurk
- Hormagaunts, talons and add +3" to run moves, Fleet, move through cover, feed
- Gargoyles, fleshborer, blinding venom, hunt.
- Blinding venom gets a massive nerf, exchange all attacks to make a single s3 poison 6+ ap - blind attack.

Genestealers
- Brood lord is bulky and ML1 and gets the horror.
- Infiltrate, fleet, Move through cover
-Rending claws standard.

Lictors
- Lurk, stealth, fear, hit and run, move through cover, very bulky, deepstrike
- Does not scatter
- Is a locator beacon

Zoanthropes
- ML 2, auto come with warp blast, which is cast once and gets shots equal to the number of models in the squad
- keeps the 3++
-Rolls one additional on Powers of the hive mind

Tyranid Guard
- Bs3 for both
- Very bulky for both
- Tyrant guard have Feed and rending claws.
- Shieldwall lets the Tyrant or Swarmlord auto pass Look out sir
- If tyrant dies they gain rage and furious charge
-Hive guard have impaler cannons and hunt

Venomthrope
- Very bulky, lash whips, toxic miasma, lurk, 2+ poison, shrouded
- Models within 6" are shrouded, shrouded does pass on to full unit as long as one model is covered as per shrouded.

Tervigons (aka Nerfigons)
- All termagant units in 12" get counter attack
- ML1 chooses from Hive powers
- Spawn is done at end of movement, unit cannot move or assault, but can shoot and run. Doubles get cork it.
- Synaptic backlash, its now termagants within 12" not 6" get hits equal to the squad size at S3 ap-
- Does not pass on adrenal or toxin

Raveners
- Very bulky, Feed

Red Terror
- If all its standard (not tail) attacks hit it can choose to swallow, swallows a infantry, jump or jet infantry in base contact, must pass single invulnerable save if it has one, very and extremely bulky infantry cannot be swallowed.

Biovore
- Hunt
- Still needs a baby sitter
- Spore mines are kind of dirty, can get up to S10 (requires 7 mines hitting)

Exocrines
-Exactly as rumoured.
-Hunt

Haruspexes
- Gains wounds back for each wound caused in combat, When it charges it gains an additional attack for each wound caused in combat (these cannot generate more and hammer of wrath, acid blood and tail attacks don't count)

Pyrovores
- No one is going to take them, moving on

Carnifexes
- D3 hammer of wrath

Rippers
- Are rippers

Mawloc
- Can burrow in the movement phase and go into ongoing reserves as long as he is unengaged, cant deepstrike and burrow in the same turn.
- S6 ap2 large blast ignores cover when it deepstrikes on something, lowest level hit in multi floor buildings, wounds from center of blast (awesome btw, things a character and weapon sniper) After resolving blast, try placing the mawloc, if he fits he sits, if not he resolves another blast, if he still cant fit then he mishaps. He can come within 1" but does not move models out of the way.

Trygon
- Basically the same.

Crones
- Vector strike at S8
- T5 W5 Sv4+
- Feed
- Drool Cannon S6 ap4 flamer
- Tenticlids reroll hits against flyers and FMCs, haywire, S5 ap5 (why would you shoot a FMC with these?)

Harpy
- -5 to enemy initiative when charging.
- hunt

Tyrannofexes
- hunt
- Acid spray standard, torrent S6 ap4 flame template

Swarmlord
-18" synapse trait
- Must add +1 to reserve rolls
- Beginning of your turn one friendly Nid dex unit within 18" gets Furious charge, monster hunter or preferred enemy
- ML3 again Nid powers only
- 4++ in combat causes instant death
- Why did he need a nerf? da fack

So...i have the codex as well, and I'm looking at the Red Terror. It says that a model that is hit 4 times may make a single invulnerable save against the Swallow Whole attack. Does that allow for re-rolls?

Rippers are swarms, so no scoring, and are 13pts a base

From the book: An unengaged Mawloc can, at any point during its movement phases from the second game turn onwards, elect to burrow. If it does so, remove it from the table and place it into Ongoing Reserves. A mawlock cannot deep strike and burrow in the same turn.

As long as he is unengaged he can burrow and go into ongoing reserves. Cant deepstrike and burrow in the same turn

Sorry, my bad, as pointed out above, on page 38 it states "a Warlord may... either roll on one of the W T tables in the BRB, or instead roll on the Warlord Traits presented here".

OT: one thing, not pointed out elsewhere, is that there is fluff on Ymgarls and the Doom. There has to be a chance they'll be back in a dataslate.... although a Doom without a pod is like a pizza delivery boy without a moped.

They could have just used Unit and not Models. Oh well.

The ymgarl factor
assault you choose to have:
+1a or
+1S or
+1 armour save
can´t repeate the same buff two consecutive turns

reaper of obliterax
S+1 ap3 , melee, lifedrain, shred, swiftstrike

life drain: 6s to wound cause ID
swiftstride; +3 I
shred you know it

basically a lashwhip and bonesword with shred rule that cost +25pts

minimum cost same order (10/40/25 /40/45)
