I just felt like hell froze over..

The last time I saw a warhammer related thing on TV was Dawn Of War adverts sponsoring Star Trek a decade ago....

It advertised yeterday on the TV on BBC2 and I came here to find out. All I can say is regardless of the books, I'm really shocked to see 40k or GW adverts on TV. Even when they had their mainstream games like Space Marine, even new editions etc, I never saw adverts on TV and I watched TV constantly back then, rarely now, and hardly if ever with adverts.

I was just really surprised to see GW shell out money for TV adverts on a premier TV channel, I thought they didn't do stuff like that.

Gw are not shelling out money. Hachette, the collections publisher, are paying for this marketing.

Must say I was pretty stunned when I saw this it doesn't really sit comfortably to be honest. Warhammer and tv ads just don't rub well in my mojo. But maybe I'm being a dinosaur.

It feels kind of scant too.

Start of with the First Heretic then immediately Juno to Xenos from Eisenhorn book 1

Then in guessing it'll be like 9 months of random stories and new trilogies starting before they get to book 2.

"Watchers in Death" would be the first showing, as we got to see where/why they went away(interesting reasoning by the by!).

Indeed - it might be a buy for me for just that element of the story.

Just pick up issue 1 of the 40k Legends series for £1.99 as I don't have First Heretic.

Nice quality books and the poster with it is nice. Not sure I want the series but the subscription extras look nice: =I= tankard being the pick of the lot.

There a nice extra gift with issue 2 as well - an Aquilla Notebook.

Not sure I want an 80 book collection at £9.99 a book!?!

Yeah, £791.20 for 80 books, and I bet I've got all of them already. I know I've already got the first five.

That's one thing I've always wondered about those various "collect all the things" companies.

How often do they finish and deliver the whole thing?

Mmmm that's a point. I doubt they have any obligation to finish and this series seems to have had one hiccup already. I have too many of these books to buy into this anyway. I always fancied the judge dredd mega collection although I think it's already been produced and is now running reprints.

I had the Marvel hardback co!lection and that one came to a natural end.

They then relaunched it from the beginning for a new set of collectors.

Newsagents usually carry the first few weeks or months of such a collection then you can get them from the publisher - IIRC you can subscribe direct with Hachette or Amazon - they have been pretty good for me when it come to continuing with other collections.

She is closer to the camera. And "statuesque".

BobtheInquisitor : C'mon she is only a bit closer than Custode on the left and even then she should be smaller than now. Custodes are even bigger than Astartes. Same thing was on Prospero Burns cover art.
