Huh. I wonder what conflict this one is going to cover.

Of the 3 or 4 rumored books, sounds like it would be the mark of calth or the "conquest" of the ultramar sector by the world eaters and word bearers. If the latter could mean the 1st deamon primarch rules.

The Krios Battle Tank is a vehicle of arcane and ancient design that fulfils a tactical role within Mechanicum armies similar to that of the Predator tank more widely used by other forces of the Imperium. Its durability is provided by interlocking defensive energy fields, rather than physical armour, lending it a deceptively skeletal appearance.
The most common armament mounted upon the Krios is the lightning cannon. This configuration takes advantage of the tank’s powerful on-board reactor’s vast energy capacity to create a laser-path guided electromagnetic beam, able to vaporise flesh and rupture heavy armour with ease.
The rules for the Mechanicum Krios Battle Tank can be found in the The Horus Heresy Book Three: Extermination.
The Mechanicum Krios Battle Tank is a multi-part resin kit, designed by Stuart Williamson, and is available to pre-order now for despatch on Thursday 1st May.

Tech-thralls are created by the Mechanicum through basic augmetics and cranial surgery as the need for them arises and, in the case of the Legio Cybernetica, the use of captured prisoners and criminals requisitioned from local authorities is common.

Considered a lower order of being than most servitors by their masters, the ultimate fate of most tech-thralls is to end their lives recycled into servitor components and their implants harvested for use in future thralls as their bodies fail under the relentless toil to which they are subjected.
In times of war Tech-thralls are formed into expendable units called Adsecularis and armed with basic weapon systems such as the mitra-lock, a compact multi-chambered variant of the las-lock, designed to discharge a simultaneous volley of las pulses in a fan effect.

The Mechanicum Tech-thralls with Mitra-locks are a multi-part resin kit comprising five models armed with mitra-locks. Designed by Mark Bedford this kit is available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Thursday the 1st May.

Contemptor Dreadnoughts can be armed for a variety of differing battlefield roles. Sometimes they are tasked with spearheading assaults against enemies in fortified positions. In these circumstances the chainfist is a formidable tool for breaching bulkhead doors and cutting a path through the armoured hulls of tanks.
The Contemptor Chainfist, designed by Will Hayes, is a multi-part resin weapon arm for our range of Contemptor dreadnought bodies. The arm includes a meltagun and graviton gun options as secondary weapons.
This kit is available to pre-order now and will be despatched from Thursday 1st May.

So what are the stats of the Mitra lock? It isn't in the options for thralls in Book 2.

I was hoping that an example shown on a completed Contemptor would make it look better but no, it's probably the laziest thing FW have done in a while.

Everyone is all up in arms about this it seems.

But isn't an ordinary chainfist just a PF with a chainblade on the underside

The chain fingers would have been a much better solution. Or an actual chain blade like the ironclad. Or an undermounted chain blade. Or something not made but the least creative converter ever.

The chain saw looks to small/out of scale to the reat of the fist. It looks like it would break off if he hit a tank with it. It should be larger and more reinforced like the rest of the contemptor dred.

If it was a larger termie chain fist I actully would of been happy.

Not a fan of the chainfist, either. It doesn't look imposing enough for a dreadnought sized chainfist.

FORGE WORLD BULLETIN #14

With the number of events I’ve been to over the last few weeks, there’s barely been time for me to stop and take a look at what’s currently being worked on in the Forge World Studio. Now I’ve caught my breath, I’ve spotted something that Keith Robertson has been working on which looks pretty close to completion. Keith certainly doesn’t waste any time as this comes hot on the heels of the Tyranid Twin-Linked Devourers and Salamanders Legion Pyroclasts that he recently sculpted.

Keith’s latest work, soon to be handed over for casting.

Will Hayes hasn’t been idle either. After recently finishing the Thallax Cohort’s new weapons, he’s just put the finishing touches on the Space Marine Combi-weapons set that some of you may have seen at our recent Open Day. The set includes Tigrus pattern combi-flamers, combi-plasmas and Tigris combi-meltas, which will make perfect additions to Legion Seekers, Space Marine Sergeants and Veteran Squads. Will has already been adding them to squads of his own — keep an eye on future bulletins for pictures of them in all their painted glory.

The three types of combi-weapons in the set.

Matt Murphy-Kane has been putting his batch painting skills to the test over the last few weeks working on an Alpha Legion army, and those of you who already have your copy of The Horus Heresy Book Three: Extermination will know exactly how awesome the Alpha Legion are! Rumour has it too that if you managed to get a ticket for the Horus Heresy Weekender on the 17th-18th May, you might well be seeing more of this duplicitous Legion at the event.

ust a small part of the Alpha Legion force Matt has painted.

That’s all from me for now. Make sure you check back soon for more from the Forge World Studio.

Chris.
