Tidbits about Vlad's Army
Rules for Vampires mean they can appear in any era, but we have concentrated on 20th century conflicts - and the near (retro) future of whenever the 7ombieTV apocalypse happens.
The vampire rules included new archetypes for a Master Vampire Star, Vampire Co-Star and some new extras. There are a couple of new but familiar statuses and special effects covering vamp powers too.
We have a new Commanding Officer Star and a half dozen new Co-Stars for Military casts and this includes and expansion of weapons and attacks. Also included is a new Vampire Hunter Star archetype.
Guest Stars are expanded too, with three quite different examples of bloodsuckers and hunters.
We present six episodes. The first three concern standalone battles: one in Northern Africa during WW2, the second in communist China and finally one in a dead-infested New York skyscraper.
The remaining three form the Vlad's Army campaign. We follow Walsingham-on-Seas' Local Defence Volunteers as they uncover and attempt to repel a German vampire invasion from Blighty's shore during WW2. This campaign includes a whole new deck of scavenge cards including mechanics to combine certain cards to make special weapons for fighting these new undead.
We're trying for release before Salute, but we might have to see how we get on, so I will keep you posted!
Photo of the Day! Helena and I met last night and are starting to bash this into shape...

To go with Vlad's Army:
“DON’T PANIC!”
We’ve been inundated with requests to show off the miniatures from the Dad’s Army boxed for which we’ve been granted the official licence. So, we ran a poll on the Warlord Games Facebook page which resulted in a clear winner – the model you most wanted to see was local butcher and veteran of the Sudanese Campaign, Lance-Corporal Jack Jones.
As with all the Local Defence Volunteers in our boxed set he is depicted in Home Guard uniform and in civilian attire. In hios butcher’s garb he is wielding his asagai spear – a trophy from fighting the ‘Fuzzie-Wuzzies’ in Sudan.
“THEY DON’T LIKE IT UP ‘EM!”
We’ll be showing off more characters every day from now until the pre-order launch, so make sure you check in to see them!

The February Newsletter is out:
Miniatures
More FedSec Troopers
Instantly recognisable, the Federated Security are feared as the faceless troops of a terror regime. Put down even greater rebellions with an additional 3 models, featuring carbines and helmet heads on the base tab (£9 for 3 or £3.25 each). These are supported by a new Heavy Trooper (£3.50). Facing large amounts of rebellious dissidents, and not wanting to waste cheap labour, the Federated Security employ Heavy Stun Beamers to bring down their opponents with minimal chance of harm. Sculpted by Martin Buck with original heads and carbines by Ian Mountain.
Starter Sets
Start a new 7TV cast or expand an existing one with our new boxed sets box sets. This month we bring you the villainous S.H.I.V.A. (13 models) and Minions (14 models) which will work for both heroic and villainous casts and are cheap (and if you’re evil, expendable!). Expect more boxed sets to appear in the web store (and hopefully your local retailers) in some natty DVD packaging soon.
Coming Soon
Next month we will add Drew Falstaff, a rookie Beat detective and informant ‘King Tut' Tuttle to their ranks as they attempt to foil underworld boss ‘The Duchess’. Above is a preview from of the superb greens from Ernst Veingart. S.H.I.V.A. Co-Stars Dr Mao and the Mannequin will also be available thanks to the talented Andrew May.
Rules
Vlad's Army
Some more details on Vlad's Army as we work away on the layout. The rules include new archetypes for a Master Vampire Star, Vampire Co-Star and some new extras. Military casts have a new Commanding Officer Star and a half dozen new Co-Stars plus an expansion of weapons and attacks. Also included is a new Vampire Hunter Star archetype and new Guest Stars, with three quite different examples of bloodsuckers and hunters.
There are six episodes. Three are standalone battles featuring conflicts in: Northern Africa during WW2;communist China; and finally a near future dead-infested New York skyscraper.

Included is a whole new deck of scavenge cards with mechanics to combine certain cards to make special weapons for fighting these new undead. Hopefully out by Salute, but we will keep you posted!

Also there'll be some new Daughters of SHIVA models coming along at some point to finish off the SHIVA line. The old models have been out of stock for ages given that they were never intended to be released due to them being conversions.

Ten to Griffindor methinks. ...I never invested much with that series (from the outset it seemed a poor and uncessary sequel to Life on Mars), but yes, the resemblance is there. I suppose Crooked Dice decided to plunk this lot in with their existing Life on Mars minis (and given that there's an expansion for The Beat, more models are always nice).

Points in the bank!!
I liked it myself and whether or not you liked the ending, it did at least provide an end.
Nothing could ever beat the Camberwick Green Gene Hunt from Life on Mars 'filling in a nonce' though.
This a company that is producing miniatures with charm especially for a child of the 70s like me and is certainly attractive to some of my growing disposable income.

The Argonaut's are the smaller pair in this image, with Ulysses standing at about the height of an Imperial Guardsman. If you're attempting to make an Argonaut's cast I'd say just buy in some 1/35th scale Greeks as stand ins (as in their dedicated supliment there's about five different kinds of Argonauts).
