Won't work. Since your wishy washy government think that suppressors work like they do in the movies you would end up deaf, therefor unable to hear the film anyway.

The purpose is to get around the law against automatic weapons by making a gun that shoots multiple bullets not with a single trigger pull.
Except that it doesn't. As noted in the article, he is going to have to make a double trigger setup for us peasants. Don't confuse what can be sold between FFL holders and to .gov/.mil as what everyone can buy. As far as this goes the slidefire stocks and similar items are an order of magnitude more useful, and they ain't useful for much.
In other words, you have to yank a trigger 40-60-80 times to get 40-60-80 rounds, except with the weight of a second rifle that is almost definitely a more complicated and less reliable weapon than a vanilla AR. The only advantage I could possibly see this thing having over a redi-mag is that you don't have to take a whole second or two to jam the second mag in, and you simply start squeezing a second trigger. It does look cool though. I guess.
Gilboa’s Double-Barreled AR-15, The “Snake,” Makes its American Debut By Nick Leghorn on January 17, 2014
When this rifle first came into the public eye, we were less than enthusiastic. It seemed like a gimmick, and to be honest that’s how it started — they needed a “show stopper” for a military trade show. But instead of just being an interesting engineering product, Gilboa is going into full production right here in the United States to put these on the shelves and in the hands of American shooters . . .
Since the ATF defines a “machine gun” as any firearm that fires multiple rounds with the pull of a single trigger, Gilboa is re-designing the rifle to have two individual triggers instead of the single trigger setup currently being used. We’ve been promised one will be on its way to TTAG command central for a test as soon as it’s ready, and we’ll let you know how it works.
In the meantime, imagine this: running a 3-gun stage with this double-barreled AR-15, Arsenal’s double-barreled 1911, and a side by side coach gun. Wouldn’t that be a thing?
still havnt figured out that shot guns, or any shot carttride shoots multiple projectiles with one trigger squeeze...
or that most 1880 style shotguns I can empty the whole magazine of shot shells with one press of the trigger, simply by slam firing each time I rack it..

Government tested them in the past... really were not all that effective, the recoil of using both barrels was greater than that of an m1 garand so they droped the idea

No. This doesn't suddenly give you the functionality of an automatic weapon. Nowhere, nowhere, nowhere close to it. So circumventing that law could hardly be the goal.

man, so much potential to jam. Especially with the rounds basically sharing a chamber while ejecting.

Yes, I'm familiar with what the ATF defines a "machine gun" as.
I'm also familiar with what an "automatic weapon" is. A gun that shoots two rounds instead of one when you pull the trigger is not an automatic weapon. I wouldn't even define it as a burst-fire weapon, because the rounds aren't sequential. This does not come remotely close to duplicating automatic capability.
