I am not sure why there is so much hate towards these items in the beards? Many other models in the range have stuff in their beard, maybe not quite weapon shaped but still.

Spacewolves: 1850pts
Darkeldar: 1850pts
Dwarfs: 2400pts

Because I can't imagine any world where having a weapon in your beard would end in anything else than that weapon hitting you in the face constantly And when it's not hitting you in the face, it's hitting you in the ribs/stomach.

I think Alpharius just wishes he could grow that majestic of a beard.

I wonder what else we'll see leaked before preorders.

Or somewhere else depending on how long your beard is.

I'm happy to see Dwarves finally getting some new kits- I have a large GW dwarf army and wouldn't mind painting a few more stunties.

The slayer is a bit silly, but then, he's a slayer so it comes with the territory. I am suspicious about these big bases though- I always think it's an excuse to jack up the price.

The hammerers are fairly competently done, though they are a little bland, and their faces are lacking some of the character of the old Dwarf sculpts- they really look computer sculpted to me, and they lack some of the expected character for that reason.

If these models are reasonably priced (hah!) I will buy them. I think that they don't hold a candle to Tre Manor's Dvergr though.

I think it's time to order some AoW slayers. They'll pull double duty in my Mantic Dwarf army. If the GW dwarf book is bad, I have KoW with tons of usable dwarves. If the GW books is good, I have two all payable system armies. Either way, I win.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I think the new models shown look pretty darn good to be honest... First time in a while I say that without reservation.

Not really a weapon is it, just an amulet or something like that. Would it be more preferable for most people if the beards were to be plain, maybe just braids or something to that regard?

Dwarf slayer in Neferata has talismans in his beard as do others IIRC....

If they are just that thats fine

Looks big enough to do some damage just swinging around

Doesn't really bother me, was just pointing it out that both the Hammerers and the Slayer had beard-dangling-weapons. Personally I'm not a fan of the WFB dwarfs, never really have been. I like Dwarfs, just not the WFB ones, much prefer the LOTR stunties or the AoW stunties.

I was dubious about the slayer before the beard axes were pointed out. Things in beards to weigh them down is a pretty good idea, axes just seem like a bad idea, especially if you're the sort of character that jumps of statues.

Can't say I'm a huge fan of the Hammerers because they don't look like they're physically capable of swinging their weapons. But as I said before, I'm not a huge fan of WFB dwarfs in the first place.

Those Hammerers are starting to grow on me. They'll need a weapon downscale and perhaps some masks, but the overall shape of the models is fine.

The new models looks pretty good!

Though, I am curious as to why GW is doing a combined Longbeard/Hammerer box and not a combined Ironbreaker/Hammerer box?

I don't mind the slayer with the beard axes either,

It would be better without the imho, but I don't think they ruin the model.

I will definitely opt for a different paint scheme than the blue and white striped pants though.

I didn't think it was possible for GW to convince me to pay their current insane prices, but these dwarfs may have proven me wrong. I must have that slayer. He will lead my AoW berserkers, my Mantic brock riders, and he will sit next to me when I re-read the Gotrek and Felix books.

The hammerers also look fantastic to me, but I've been gluing oversized hammers on my dwarfs for years. They are supposed to be much stronger than humans, after all. And runes something something.

The old ones looked far more "Warhammer", than these new ones. These almost look like Lord of the Rings models.

I wonder if GW is continuing with the design of having these Dwarf units be two parts of the back and legs with the front part of the body and head with arms like the other plastics.
