Because Asterix, I guess. But maybe that is just because I am French.
No need to apologise for being French, we all make mistakes
Anyway, back OT
The more I look at these hammerers, the more I like them, and here's why.
They're supposed to be tough, no nonsense troops, that guard the king, a rock for the rest of the Dwarf army to rely on. They're not meant to look flash, they're meant to stand up to a charge from Khorne knights of Chaos and still be able to fight back. These dwarves fit the bill.

Looks pretty good so far to me, though I do wonder what the rest of the Slayers' poses will look like. That one given seems to acrobatic for a Dwarf, even a maddened one.
Any news on whether these kits are going to be dual with anything?
I won't be picking anything up but I'm really interested to see what they do with the new Dwarves.

I think the Slayer is a single plastic miniature clampack, not part of a box set.
Hazzah! Finally the time of the Dwarfs has come again!
I cannot wait to see the Army Book, as well as the potential army box sets which may be assembled, and of course, all of the new models especially new Lords and Heroes!

And that's a banner not a crest, unless Dwarves have no ability to keep their helmet ornaments straight.
Yeah, if you look closely, you'd find the helmet actually has horns, and the ornamental thing is behind it. Ergo, he has a banner, not an absurdly heavy helmet.

The long beards, which are the other half of that hammerer set, look much better IMO. Not sure why those pics haven't surfaced yet, but they look great.

Actually, yeah, that dwarf king is awesome!! I'd cut the banner off, but he is a wicked sculpt. Very impressed! Don't like the slayer and the hammerers are just okay, but Belegor is sweet!!
Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

I'm pretty sure Dwarfs are going to turn into my second army. I currently play Ogres, but I hate the lack of options in the armybook. I hope that Dwarfs are pretty much the same, awesome Runes and anti-magic. I like the new models and I am so going to convert the new king's back banner into his hat.
Oh yeah, those medalions on his banner? Earings baby.

Long have they fought the terrors in the dark beneath the mountains. And long have they died defending what is rightfully theirs. No more. Now is the time for vengeance, for conquest, for power. Ancient grudges will be settled on 1st February, make sure you’re here to find out more.

I never knew there were so many milk bottles -- or tug boats -- in the undermountain.
That picture is a elf health and safety nightmare too. You'd think of all the folks in the warhammer world that they sons of Grungni would have unions.

Well...that looked unusually evil looking for an order-aligned faction.
Are you sure they aren't chaos dwarves?

Kolbalt266 -question is it a BattleScroll or will Belegar Ironhammer have rules in the book? anyone?
Father Gabe -The rules for Belegar didn't have a stamp or heading saying battle scroll. With him having an actual model, showcased in the first new issue, it is reasonable to say he will be in the book.

The more I look at these models, the less I am wanting to buy them. I really wanted to start a Dwarf army, but now...I'm not so sure.
The Slayer looks the part. Seems to fit the fluff of a crazy, angry, little man. I will def be picking one of those up.
The rest just look off. Maybe it is the ultra colorful paint jobs? Someone mentioned that the banner on the Lord looks like it was a Lizardmen piece that they slapped a few runes on, I'm starting to agree. And don't get me started on all the swirls on the armor. Thank God for files and sandpaper.
As mentioned already, the Hammerers look like they were meant for LOTR and they just scaled them down a bit to make them work for WHFB.
Unless they re-do the Dwarf Warriors box (which so far sounds doubtful), these new units don't look like they would even match up with the old kits.
Come to think of it, it almost looks as if the the Hammerers were modeled after the Mantic Dwarfs. Maybe GW feels like Mantic is their main competition for fantasy? Who knows?

The fog horn or whatever at the end of the video, lol
So far, my reaction is very "meh" on these miniatures... seems like a lot of GW's recent plastic infantry have lacked character to me. Not sure if it's a restriction of the process, design decisions, or what... but nothing stands out about them / they're very bland.

Just flicking through my old Storm of Chaos for background and the Dwarves seem to be pretty consistant with those shown there complete with beard talismans and leaping Slayers
