So, I was wondering if there are any SM chapters that have Spartan aesthetics or backgrounds to them, like in the way that White Scars are like Mongol Raiders or Space Wolves resemble SPESS VIKINGS? Are there any?

They're Forge World, right? Could I use them with regular Codex Space Marines? Or do they have their own Codex?

I think they have special rules in Imperial Armor 9 or 10 (one of the Badab War ones), but otherwise are standard Codex Marines with badass bronze armor xD

They have their own specific rules in one of the FW books, but like always, there's nothing stopping you from just using their aesthetics with the standard Codex.
I say go for it. They do look pretty badass.

But aren't those the only 2 Minotaur models you can get?

Can't really build an army of them, lol.

Before I go look, do they have their own Chapter Tactics like some of the other FW units?

There are also transfer sheets and shoulder pads, as per the usual FW fair. One may also use some greco-roman styled shields from other 3rd party sources.
Example:

The creator used shields from Scibor.

They have a special character, Lord Asterian Moloch (their Chapter Master) in IA10: Badab War Part 2. I don't think they have specific tactics but not 100% sure.

Apparently yes they do: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Downloads/Product/PDF/F/FWchaptertactics.pdf

I like how their primogenitor records are sealed by the High Lords, and they are pretty bloodthirsty... World Eaters or Night Lords perhaps?

EDIT: Everything that was here was based off of old information. Their chapter tactics are much nastier in the update below.

Oh wow, I did not know that existed.

The Minotaur Chapter Tactics are actually pretty good.

Unrelenting Assault: Models with Chapter Tactics (Minotaurs)
do not suffer Panic tests from shooting attacks and may re-roll
failed Pinning tests.

Trample and Crush: Models with Chapter Tactics (Minotaurs)
gain the Crusader special rule. In addition, they add +1 to
any roll to determine charge distances while in an enemy
deployment zone.

Good on FW to distribute this for free. If it were GW proper, it would be in a dataslate

There are also updated rules for Moloch here:
http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Downloads/Product/PDF/B/badabupdate-v2.pdf

Figuring I can post this here as it's already free, he's 235 points, Chapter Master stats, a S6 AP2 at initiative power weapon that can also fire as a S8 AP2 and PE:SM for all units in the army. Also Eternal Warrior +1VP for every character killed in a challenge. Not a bad package at all, and you get to use one of the most awesome models FW have ever produced.

They also get to use Ivanus Enkomi, a pretty awesome Chaplain+1 who gets a free JP or Void Hardened armour (I think that's 2+ sv), give rage to any minotaurs squad, and has a 12" bubble of 'enemy use lowest Ld".

Because UM have Roman flavour there are plenty of SM models that will have nice Spartan look once painted appropriately. Those groin protector straps and crested helmets will be very fitting. Red cloaks for HQ/veterans will also look Spartan. BA Sanguinary Guard have nice muscle breastplates which look like ancient Greek armours.

Minotaurs are the closest to Spartans, and if memory serves they are pretty much the hit men of the high lords of Terra. Chapter getting out of line or possibly renegade? Deploy the Minotaurs.

Minotaurs do look pretty badass. Though I did take a look at the pds that was linked and The Firehawks also look pretty decent. handflamers for all at a small cost and they make assault marines/ vanguard vets troops!

edit: just realized it makes them scoring, not troops. oh was looking to field an all jump pack army :( oh well!

Scibor Miniatures makes some Spartan themed minis. Of course, they cost a bit more and are a bit larger than GW Space Marines, but still useful for character models and the like. They also sell numerous bits like weapons, shields, etc., that may be of use to you.

If you don't fancy Minotaurs for some reason, the Genesis Chapter (2nd Founding Ultramarines successors) have a similar look; their symbol is a black lambda and their armour is bright red.

There are other companies that make sparten "space marine" heads that fit perfectly. Those and some of the other "normal" space marine models might be cheaper than paying through the nose for FW models. Of course, if your going for that look, i would likely still get the minataur character models.
