GenCon Dealers Room Map is up: http://images.gencon.com/GenCon2014-ExhibitHallmapwithlinks.pdf

I'm not sure if you can look at it if you're not logged in.

What's interesting is that I don't see WotC on this map. Do they have their own hall somewhere this year? Did they last year? I always remember them taking up a bunch of room in the dealer's hall. Odd if they've moved elsewhere. Or am I blind and not seeing it?

I think they just did their own hall last year (in addition to effectively taking over another hall for RPGA D&D games). Consider that last year was a 'light year' where they were demoing *but not selling) board game expansions as their 'big' product. I expect this year may be crazy.

2012 they had a chunk of the exhibit floor. mainly as a walk-through to get attention.Cool life-sized Drider model.

2011 I did not attend.

2010 they had some sort of two-story 'structure' that I think had some sort of 'lounge' on top. The main thing I remember is they didn't do much theming on it so it looked a bit out of place.very generic, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was used for Hasbro events at toy shows where they're showing a large group of products to multiple market groups and don't want to theme to any one.

Working on someting you'll either love or hate. Hopefully to be revealed by November.
Play the games that make you happy.

Badge was purchased after having a few beers Saturday night and going, "FETH! I need to buy my badge."

Unlike the last two years, the entire convention is mine for the taking. No booth working or demos to be given...

So what to plebs people not slaving away at a booth do during GenCon?

My current plan is to check out the FFG booth for sweet Netrunner goodness, probably the WizKids booth for a HeroClix fig or two, and that's pretty much all I want out of the vendor hall.

Gonna probably get demos on demos on demos, play in a Netrunner Casual time slot, maybe take a painting class like I did two years ago.

SO MANY CHOICES!

They're still having late night beginner's bondage classes if you're in to that.

Otherwise, 24 hour magic the gathering, demo games in the exhibit hall, Battletech pods, terrain workshops, painting and modeling workshops, and eating at the variety of restaurants are all things I've enjoyed.

Are yo looking for something more specific?

SO MANY CHOICES!

Step 1: Find Alf again.

Step 2: Nut Punch.

Step 3: Run like hell, cause he's a big dude!

The only event I have planned is the FFG Inflight Report. Kick ass if you can get into it and LURVE FFG games and stuff.

I will be signing up for a handful of demo games, but that's it. Free time for me this year. I moved away from my gaming group, and we plan on playing Pathfinder and any new game we buy a lot in the Hotel room.

Also drinking.

I love playing D&D with someone new to roleplaying. And there is nothing to prevent one from responsibly enjoying an adult beverage whilst playing.

If there is any interest I can run a game that I am working on. It is a hybrid of tabletop games like Warhammer Quest and more standard RPGs like D&D.

Ahtman, I wouldn't mind giving it a whirl. Based on what you shared before, it seems like any 4E fans would probably enjoy it.

It is fun for all animals big and small. I could do the Sci-fi version but that would mean pregens as that is still heavily a WIP.

How did that happen??

No Booth/Demos: Well, I'm no longer a Wyrd Henchmen or Warlord Sarge I can't sell my body ability to teach their games, and On the Lamb did not get allocated a booth this year. So Cyporiean and Miskatonicalum are cancelling their hotel room and their badges and doing a staycation instead of driving up from Florida for the event.

So I had been putting off buying my badge until someone mentioned that prices jumped (whether they did or not I'll never know) at the start of June, so I May 31st was when I had my oh feth moment about my badge.

As for events: I'm not 100% sure what I'm taking. I'm almost positive I'm bringing my Netrunner decks to play some casual Netrunner (which has become my buddy's favorite game seeing as I can get him to leave his house to play it ). I might bring some HeroClix to do casual HeroClix, though I have yet to see anyone really do "casual" HeroClix. I probably won't bring my Warmahordes stuff since I rarely play.

Atm I'm looking at the Netrunner casual play, a painting class (probably do a repeat on cloaks since I don't remember how do to them from 2 years ago ), otherwise I'm open to suggestions. I may bring my Star Wars Attack Wing stuff...

Also if Dakka wishes to have a meetup of sorts, I'd be down for that, especially if I could try out some DnD New hotness (just to try it).

Ladygeek and I will be there. Besides the indulgent binge shopping, I'm defending my title from last year at the 8hr. Apocalypse game on Friday, and playing Last Gasp of the Wermacht (Bolt Action) on Saturday. I've got some intro games scheduled and the usal evening entertainment stuff going on. I'd like to meet up with some Dakkanauts for beers, BS, and games.
