I rarely have ladies order anything but vodka drinks, although lately at my small bar I have seen a spike in them ordering Jameson and Ginger.
It is interesting to see how the venue changes what people drink. The small bar people are what I call professional drinkers, they drink what they want and want what they drink. Nightclub people drink what is popular or marketed the most, their tastes are also driven more by what the ladies will drink.
I am very curious about this data though, how it was collected and how it breaks up by states and regions. While I'm sure vodka is very popular in cities, I'm sure whiskey is the tipple of choice in rural areas. Id like to see how close it came.
In ancient times when Bearwiener dogs roamed the earth battling the sabre toothed kitten for supremacy, maragaritas were the club drink of choice for da ladies. That may have changed.

Margaritas are still delicious-regardless of what does/doesn't dangle between your legs.
Outback's triple margarita shooter is awesome...one mango, one lime, one pomegranate. Yum

I used to like strawberry ritas but have moved on to Soco, dark rum, Crown Royal, and the occasional Lemon Drop.

Vodka #1 sounds correct from my POV, with this being the poison of choice for most of my customers.
Becoming blind and impotent included in the €4,99 per 0.7Ltr. bottle.

Not surprised that vodka is number one at home (in Ireland), but bitterly disappointed! I can only say that I did my duty when I was a younger Boss.
Honestly, most men at home drink beer. Mostly Guinness and horrible lager. Women and alcoholics drink vodka, usually with a mixer. Whiskey is for sale everywhere but you rarely see people drinking it.

I drank a lot of vodka in college, and switched almost fully to beer after turning 21. I prefer craft beers, especially high hops IPAs. However, when I do low carb diets, I drink a lot of whiskey. I've really developed a taste over the years for Jameson, Beam, or Buffalo trace on the rocks.
Much like Ron Swanson, I have strong feelings on drinking. If you don't want to taste it, you don't really want to feel it, and don't deserve to.

Bourbon has the advantage of offering great value for the money. You can get a quite nice fifth of Bourbon around $30, and really enjoy drinking it. In contrast to scotch, which requires a pretty hefty investment to really get the best.
Vodka, of course, is so easy to hide ina cocktail that you can use whatever you want.

Since this seems to be a "what you dink" thread now... I tried a couple shots of Bacardi 151 last time I went out. That was not actually as bad as I was expecting.

Shots of 151 is a bad idea.

Well the nice men say I'm only allowed to drink 4 drinks a day or else I'm an alcoholic, so I make sure to get the most mileage out of them I can Seriously though my typical night out when I'm not going industrial style is ~2-3 beers with dinner (I love the Black and Blue, Guinness floated on Blue moon) then one mixed drink of some kind after (either gin and tonic if I'm feeling fancy or white russian if I want desert, something with caffine if I'm feeling sleepy). Then I walk home!

My personal favorite which I believe I invented is the Irish Godfather. Jameson, a little amaretto and some bitters. Nice sipping drink, lots of complex flavors...if you drink whiskey, if not.....well all you taste is whiskey.
