Subject: Warhammer 40K Video Bat Rep Dark Eldar vs Tau
Man I actually thought Tau was gonna get this one especially since Frankie failed his seize. I thought the bouncing back and forth with the Riptides was going to be tough for Frankie but Iguess he worked it out.

I feel like the buffmander was misplaced. I understand wanting it to go with a riptide to fire down that wraith knight, but had it gone with the crisis team you would have just mowed down those venoms. Compare 12 bs3 s7 shots will have 6 hits, 4 will glance or pen, and 2.66 will get through the jink, killing one venom. 12 tl-bs3 tank hunting s7 shots will have 8 hit, 7 glances or pens, and 4.66 after flicker field. So basically you are killing 2 venoms a turn instead of one. Not to mention the missile pod commander can take out a venom a turn too with tank hunter. Ravangers would have also been a lot easier to kill.

First report post Nid codex that ends on turn 5... really could have used that in those other couple of games On another note that Dark Eldar paint scheme was stunning!
I think the quadtide list will do better at the LVO as so many of his points were used on Skyfire that had no bearing on this game but will obviously have a drastic effect against a larger pool of players.

OK Reece, I know your busy but you guys need to do a tutorial on making those shrubs and buildings. I think it would really sell those urban mats btw. Loved the billboard!
Oh and good game. My favorite part was that Sadomasochist Vect tossing his "Dark matter" onto those kroot and gaining his wounds back. What a bully
Thanks!

Frankie, one of these days, maybe, just maybe....I'll let you beat my necrons or mechdar.
Flying bakery and Serpent spam is nothing to boast lol.
Pretty sure every army has those same 3 weaknesses because of poor balance.
It's nice to see someone using DE primary and not just whoring out our Baron.

Frankie does really well for himself with his DE and even without a seer council!
I am curious how long you guys are going to be able to put out batreps, run your business, and organize the LVO. You only need sleep when you die, right?
Thank you as always for the excellent batrep. Good stuff.
Also let the builder of LoS blocking center terrain know they look great. I am very jealous and I bet you guys could make some decent profit selling them on ebay after the LVO.

We will come up for air after the LVO. Right now it is maximum burn.
But thanks, glad you like the reports! And yeah, Frankie is like, 20-3-2 with his current DE list, he is rocking people with it.
And yeah, Steve's buildings are sweet. You should see some of the bigger buildings he's made, they're HUGE. 3-4 levels, sky bridges, all kinds of craziness, it's awesome.
@Dalymiddleboro
Haha, I love the way the Architect talks! He's awesome, like a more laid back version of Bob Ross =P
Why so many HBC riptides? they are only really good with the ECPA, and that means you can only have one good HBC riptide.
The ion upgrade is so undercosted I fail to see any reason to ever not take it, even against hordes odds are it will uses blasts and out-kill the HBC unless it has the ECPA to ensure the bonus shots.
Its like taking multiple helldrakes but not giving them baleflamers. the autocannos are nice, but the balemflamers are the real deal.
can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now.

I think the HBC is real good against fliers and FMCs. Also, they are able to take out light AV vehicles I think easier than the Ion Acc. Also, the HBC can effect anything on the board with Rending and being Str. 6 doesn't hurt. I honestly don't think it is a bad option at all. I think combined with EWO and VT it makes for a better option than the Ion Acc. as well.
With 4 Riptides, I would prolly go with a 2/2 split rather than a 3/1 in favor of the HBC.
7th Edition Tournament Record:
15-2
War in the Mountain GT: Best Overall, 6-0 Dark Eldar
Bugeater GT: 4th, Tournament Runner Up, 5-1 Dark Eldar
The intro music is just a riff that was on our video editing software. Haha, it reminds me of soft core porn music, and I thought that was funny as it totally doesn't fit with war gaming. We have our own, heavy metal, guns and explosions intro music but I haven't used it in ages.
@Yeeman
I agree, I prefer the HBC, actually. it's awesome damage output and it owns flyers. I think a mix of that and the Ion cannon is best.
kill dem tau hellz yeah!
Very nice to see tau get a beat down.The tactics side its interesting to consider the academics of this matchup. Alot of mobility and buckets of dice on both sides. The difference seems to be tau's ability to ignore cover versus assault ability of the eldar. very cool close game. if it wernt for some heroic cover saves i think the game would've been tau's sadly.
